I do believe that there is a way for me to be able to surpass the copy, but for me to actually be able to do that I need a weapon that has a few or more conditions in order to be utilized properly. And the Memento Mori seems to be the perfect candidate here for that exact purpose. However, even if I am to do this, there is always a possibility that the other “me” is going to come up with a countermeasure entirely on its own…… That’s actually amazing, the other “me”.

「How about some of the Leviathan weapons…… No, it’s better to not actually give this thing more of the long-range options. But at the same time, there are some options that I need to seriously consider for my own benefit…… Hmmm, hmm, hmm, hmm……」

…… Hmm, no good. No matter how hard I try to think about something, I just can’t think of anything useful.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) we live in a society. And for as long as we live in a society, we are bound to follow the rules dictated by it. Because of that, whether you like it or not, for as long as you are a student, you are required to go to school.

Apparently Saiga-san had some urgent business to take care of first thing in the morning, because of which we did not go to school together. And I have to admit, coming to school in complete silence like that after a while of having company was a somewhat fresh experience. Because of that I arrived early in the classroom and having nothing better to do I took out my mobile device and opened up the website committed to ShangriLa Frontier-related news and videos.

「Just like always, this gives me a feeling that some fool was filming this…… Judging by the quality of the display.」

Let’s try to adjust the settings and see if we can get this thing to look at least presentable in some way, aaaand…… there we go! What do we have here, is this the Old Continent? Is this going to be a movie related to one of the new things that happened to pop up over there after the Siegwurm battle? Because when it comes to the raid event that happened to appear near Thirdrema I heard that lately a group of about ninety or so low-leveled players tried to attempt it in order to try to monopolize the spot for themselves, but it seems that due to the nature of the raid boss very single player in that raid group was wiped out effortlessly.

This version of “Blue” was somewhat similar to the one that we have encountered in the underwater city, but there were also some distinctions to it which has led me to believe that they are two separate entities…… But this time around it seems that aside from the regular forms of damage, this version could also add poison damage to the mix. And from the movie just now it seems that the poison is so potent that it could easily melt through people below level one hundred in a matter of seconds. Which means that someone like me would have a couple more seconds to survive? Is that it?

「Nah, that can’t be, that would be way too broken of a thing for the raid boss to have……」

Now then, let’s go towards the weapons page. God damn it, there is so much information here, but it’s not like I can actually use any of that information in any kind of way that would prove to be beneficial. Not that I expected to find anything all that useful here in the first place. But do I really want to look for a more efficient way to use guns? I mean, if it comes to using a gun in this fight, I am more than sure that the other “me” is going to be superior just because of its superior stats…… Yeah…… After all, the only way for me to do this is to go on a short distance…… Just like a pair of masked wrestlers, huh…… No, that idea is also so ridiculous…… Yeah, yeah……

「What are those pictures? Some sort of schematics?」

「Futuristic designs.」

「What? Have you decided to become a carpenter or an architect? Is that what you want to do when you go to the University?」

「Don’t just go and blab nonsense like that. No matter how you look at those things, those are pictures from a video game.」

「Huh? Game? Ah, the one that you were telling me about the last time? But could you put it in a way that I would be able to actually understand?」

And when it comes to real life, I have already decided on the course I want it to take: I want to become a salaryman. One, so that I can earn money to buy more shitty games. Two, because that line of work allows for a decent amount of free time. And three, because such life seems fulfilling to me, while also offering a moderate amount of challenge that does not seem to be too unrealistic. But I would also like to at least learn the basics of psychology. Why psychology, you ask?

「Since we are talking about plans for the future, then who would you like to become?」

「Who, me? I plan to go to University, probably like a vast majority of people here.」

「Eh……? So what you are saying is that you are addicted to reading thick textbooks and that you would like to go cross-country across Japan with nothing on you but the things that you are going to naturally obtain on the road? Man, talk about some serious dedication out there……」

「Huh!? I’m not going to do that! Besides, I never even mentioned something like that! Like, never ever!」

Yeah, that is why I invented that story just now. I mean, have you ever heard someone actually going out and saying something so ridiculous with a perfectly serious expression? But still, even if you had a crazy dream like that, you can tell it to me, and I promise that I won’t laugh at you….. .at least not that much. Or I’ll do my best not to. But still, if you were to say something like that, then your reputation would surely have suffered some considerable amount of damage. Not to mention that the memory of a happening like that would surely come back to haunt you somewhere in the future, the moment you would least expect it.

「What the hell are you even talking about!? And I have thought that the two of us could understand one another……1?」

「Well, apparently we cannot. But I am still going to root for you in whatever you decide to do. Be it either love or work.」

「What the hell was that? Sounded like something you might have scribbled in a corner of the textbook. Or smeared in form of a graffiti on the wall.」

It was actually Takeda-san’s suggestion that learning psychology might come in handy in the future. Apparently it is a perfect tool in trading business and other things like that, allowing you to see the truth amidst the lies and lies amidst the truth, so maybe it really is worth my while……?

But that being said, a life spent on running around and passionately screaming lines like “All I do is in the name of love……!” Yeah, that might be entertaining a little bit, but only after it would stop feeling so embarrassing that you would like to keel over and die of shame.

「And now you have disturbed my contemplation period…… Kuh, I won’t forget about this! And I won’t forgive!」

「Look, there is so much absurd in the words you just said that I actually don’t know what should I possibly point out first!」

No matter what happens, you have to be like a sniper, always making sure that your bullet is going to be delivered where you want it to go.

Somehow, right now I feel like an old martial arts master patiently training a younger generation to pass my skills down onto them…… Hm? Martial arts?

Sorry for that, but this is the only way in which you can deal with annoying people like some people I know.
