ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 528 Part 2

ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 528: An Orchestra Just For You PART 10 Part 2

This is the shortest and possibly the most optimal way that may lead me towards victory.

And hopefully because it is the shortest way, it is also going to be the fastest out of all of the available paths to me.

「In other words, this means fighting at the Ultra-Close Distance! And this can mean only one thing: In-Fight Skill!!!」

The goal here is to close the distance as much as possible before the other “me” manages to launch a counterattack. This may seem foolish from me, but at the current moment this is probably the only way in which I know how to do something about this whole situation!

There is also one more thing that must be considered for this whole thing to work out: what I want to adapt is a strictly hit and run kind of a strategy, where luck is actually going to play a very important role. But if push comes to shove I can always use Levin Trigger Disaster Hand in order to get away to safety, even if it means having to sacrifice some of my precious HP for the process to actually succeed. However, it is a strictly last-resolve method, something that I do not want to use unless there will be no other way.

Speaking of strictly fictional martial arts, it’s a good thing that some games have that, because it makes the world building all that richer. But it’s a difficult thing to actually get to know them, because those can be literally anything, with no style or technique grounded in reality. But there are also those martial arts such as the Iai Fist that are so well thought out that they can be incorporated into pretty much anything and they would still work out magnificently. Which makes Iai Fist most probably the best and the most versatile martial art in the entire world.

That is exactly why the martial art that I am looking for needs to have a high level of compatibility with a Iai Fist. Oh, and also…… It needs to be that kind of a martial art that relies heavily on mobility, something which will allow me to instantly get in the face of my opponent, unleash a flurry of deadly attacks and then back away safely without having to risk getting caught in the counterattack of any sort.

…… And what that thing is supposed to be? Perhaps boxing? Because I get a distinct feeling that this might actually be boxing.

「…… No, let’s not do this. I still have not enough information to be sure. So let’s not try to pass needless judgement.」

ShangriLa Frontier is first and foremost a fantasy game. So it would stand to reason that there may be some form of purely fantasy-like martial arts available in this world that are unknown in the real world. That is why extreme caution is strongly advised here! Nothing is worse than being overconfident and suffering a crushing defeat because of that. Slow and steady! That’s what I want to be right now!

This might be a little bit off topic here, but let’s try to talk about some of the “schools” that ShangriLa Frontier may have.

It is said that ShangriLa Frontier has implemented so many weapon types into its world that actually mastering every single one of them would only be considered to be a fool’s endeavor. Of course, martial arts technically fall under that category as well, only adding to the already impressive number. Thinking like that, even Katzo’s Monk and Destroyer’s techniques can be considered separate schools, even though they are mere physical attacks with a bunch of magic slapped on top of them.

But that’s not the thing that I wanted to talk about. I wanted to talk about something that might actually seem a little bit easier…… the “School” that I’m talking about is actually an assortment of skills and basic maneuvers (sometimes involving magic, but not always and in only a few cases).

Of course, when we talk about various schools of fighting and martial arts, we are going to exclude high speed attacks and techniques like the ones that Gravekkeper Wezaemon uses, because they are really hard to replicate and they are not all that reliable in the first place. In my current situation they would be virtually useless. Basically, the school skills are pretty much the same as any martial arts, and the way that they are taught to you are through a master-student relationship that pretty much every dojo tends to have. So it’s nothing all that special. In order to become a part of the “school” there are various conditions that must be met, such as being the right class like a Monk for example, or defeating a certain enemy certain amount of times or even defeating a certain named NPC with nothing more but you bare hands…… and once you do get accepted into the school, you can learn various skills and even magic unique for that particular school. You can also undertake various quests connected to the school…… You know the drill. It’s a whole lot of things that take quite a bit of time to finish.

Unfortunately enough, I do not have the time on me to just go and do it all via normal means. However, learning the greatest mysteries and the strongest skills of the given school is not possible when you are just a mere novice. You need to start at the bottom and then start climbing all the way up. Pretty standard deal, don’t you think?

The important thing here is that I want to scout things out a little bit. I want to see what kind of a place this whole dojo is. I want to see what secret skills and techniques they can teach me. And I want to see if I can use that in battle against the other “me”.

And unlike Sigma, who constantly blabbers on about how intelligent she is but rarely even proves that through her actions, there is one simple solution to my predicament that the neurons in my brain were telling me to do:

「Hello there, you bastards! I have a problem and you seem like the perfect lot who can help me solve it!」

–––––– Yes, that’s right. It’s time to wreck some havoc in one of the dojo.

「Who the hell are you, mongrel!?」

「I came here looking for someone who is stronger than me! Is there anyone like that in this joint!?」

「STARTED THE UNIQUE SCENARIO: DOJO BREAK: RUFFIAN STYLE」

Apparently there are even some Players mixed amongst the NPCs here, so let’s see what this little experiment of mine is going to net me. Especially since everyone has their eyes on me.

Dojo Wrecking is one of the easiest Unique Scenarios that the players can activate at any given time. And because of that I enter the dojo while kicking its door in in a pretty bandit manner. I’m honestly impressed that the door did not downright break in half.

Also, there was not even a choice if you wanted to accept this quest or not.

「I am the current Master of the Dilmonton Style! My name is Ganden!」

「So, I get to fight the Master from the get go? Nice, I like that. I like that a lot!」

The one who appears in front of me is a literal hulking mountain of muscles that somehow managed to retain its human shape. The body size difference is not something that surprised me all that much here, now the question is if I can win this or not…… Yeah, as if that was something that I needed to worry myself about!

「Iai Fist Secret Technique: Triple Agony!!!」

「Gueh!? Gyah!? Gubueh!?」

Hmm, I wonder if the level of the people in this place is so low because the place is located in close proximity to Secandil? It would make for a very plausible explanation, at the very least.

「Hasta La Vista, Baby!」

I strike the guy in three different places one after another: the eyes, the throat and the center of the chest. Then right after that I struck a pose of victory and raised my fist high in the air.
