ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 541 Part 2
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 541: An Orchestra Just For You PART 21 Part 2
However, it seems that the second slash turned out to be kind of a bust as well. Did Tsuchinoko Goldunine decide that the attack that did not cause any visual damage was not a threat to her by any means, or did she intended to tolerate some of my attacks and just tank them, only so that she could swing down her poisonous swords right at me when I was least expecting it to happen?
[Oh yeah, this may be pretty bad pretty fast. Alright, better raise those stakes with the “Fool” Arcana, just to be safe!]
The ability of the “Fool” Arcana is to halve skills and magic recast times while also applying some disadvantages to the player. And it was right here that the game’s system of skill judgement was kind of bad. It was one of ShangriLa Frontier’s few flaws. Not that bad or game-breaking, but still kind of annoying to deal with.
Apparently, the timing of recast time differs depending on this game and skill. For example, Utsuro Mikagami has a recast time when the virtual image disappears, and most of the strengthening skills go into recast time at the same time as the end of the effect.
So when it comes to Critical Raise…… Just when will its recast time occur, I wonder?
The answer here is: “the moment when the damage of the first attack is judged to be zero”. The moment I noticed this judgment, the degree of violence of this skill increased by about five levels in my eyes.
[And let’s raise it even more!]
In short, this skill … You can raise the doubled attack with the same skill. As far as I tried with scorpions and spiders, it seems that the success rate of Critical Hits will probably decrease as the number of raises increases, but that’s a drawback I am willing to take.
[Come on! Come on! With this, I can achieve about thirty two times greater firepower than usual!]
From around fifty times, the success rate of Critical Hits begins to decline blatantly. Even attacks that would normally be definite and guaranteed Critical Hits begin to come off…… but the original recast time for Critical Raise is five seconds! Halve by the effect of the “Fool” Arcana…… This pushes infinitely every two and a half seconds!!
[Are you ready!? Even if you can’t hit me now, I want to see no complaints! Blame the game, not the player!]
Let’s activate Quantum Gaze here, and then we throw in the Starry World Astral Line to boot! Yes! What a nice combo this is!
Two worlds overlap with the world seen with the naked eye, and the three-layered world is projected to me right in front of my eyes.
It goes through the “waves” of attacks. First is the attack from above followed up by the attack from below. Then the swords draw an arc without hesitation, and I put a gold sword on the line that extends in front of me right towards the flank of Tsuchinoko Goldunine, and swing it out with all of my might as if sliding a hot knife through a stick of butter.
[And here we go! It’s a Cleeeeeeannnnn………… Hiiiiiiiiittttttttt!!!!!!]
Or should I say that it was as if a knife just went through a block of tofu? Anyways, the golden crystal blade passes through Tsuchinoko Goldunine’s side, and the amplified damage that could not have been done before was struck here all at once, just like a blast of a bomb.
[–––––– BINDING AND RELEASING ITS BRILLIANCE ALL AT ONCE, THE POWER OF THE WIND!]
[I know! I know! Jesus Christ, you don’t need to remind me all the goddamn time!]
Kinshou, Meiki…… It’s time to combine!
At the moment instead of two swords I’m carrying the Blue Whale Moon, an oversized two-handed sword in the form of a smaller sword stuck in a crystal scabbard. Then I rushed towards Sigma’s side, who was still buggy as all hell and nothing seemed to indicate that she would snap out of it anytime soon. I did all this while the Tsuchinoko Goldunine was blown away to the side and was still writhing in pain on the ground.
[Oi, Sigma! What the fuck is wrong with you, you useless piece of scrap!? Has the mold finally overgrew your self-proclaimed Intelligence, or what!?]
[…… Is that you, Master?]
[Alright, now answer me this, but do it fast: can you fight right now? Or maybe you are out of commission for good, huh? I won’t get mad at you and I won’t blame you if you say that you cannot fight anymore, but at least be clear about it!]
[-I am…… The Conquest Doll. As such… we are not to…… assume any action or…… intervene while the Orchestra Protocol is taking effect. That is why… I must not take… actions that can be deemed… unnecessary…… Ahh, but at the same time…… I am also… able to calculate the right assumptions, so……]
What the hell!? What is happening here right now!? Could it be that having the Conquest Doll in a place where she is not supposed to be makes her this buggy? Or is it simply the Orchestra’s influence? But rather than being interfered with by the Orchestra, this is just……
[–––––– FEAR, ANGER, HATRED, JEALOUSY…… TRAMPLE ALL OVER IT AND OPEN UP A PATH FOR YOURSELF……!!!]
[Oh, I know! How about Kagayaki Soya!? Or in other words…… Deep Coating!!!]
Shaking off any remaining doubts and discomfort that was still in my head, I cast a nasty glare towards Tsuchinoko Goldunine who just happened to turn around, and then I brandished the Blue Whale Moon firmly in my hands.
How about the recast time……? Good, it was already over. So without any further ado, let’s do this once more! First goes the Flare Tempest! And then, without any delay, right after that comes the Limit Over Accelerator!
On that day, deep underground and in the darkness of the tunnels, with just the slightest help of magic, the distance I was able to traverse between myself and my opponent was greatly reduced with nothing more but the earth’s strength.
I wondered if it would have made a huge difference if I knew at that time that two stage acceleration plus empowered “Tachikaze” combined with the Unique Skill “Eclipse Vorpal” was such a game breaking combination? But that being said, I must focus for now. I still need to run through the void of the air through the shortest and fastest route possible. Otherwise I would not meet the clear condition for this fight, and it would have sucked so much ass that it would be disgusting.
[Listen, I know that I have already decapitated you the other day, but…… How about I decapitate you right now as well? Surely you wouldn’t mind, right?]
[Guah……!?]
Okay, alright, I’ll admit it. I might have overdid it a little bit here. However, it was all for the sake of the much needed dramatization, so it should be all good, right? Besides, it’s not that there are any spectators in here who could point that out.
By the way…… It seems that before the other “me” appears on to the stage, I will have a momentary breather. So in the meantime, let me prepare myself accordingly here. Because there are quite a few things that need to be done, and this all needs to be done pretty much perfectly for it to work.
