ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 543 Part 2
ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 543: INTERLUDE: The One Who Sings And The One Who Plays Part 2
「You gotta be kidding……」
Even though I understand what is going on right in front of me, it’s as if my brain fails to grasp the situation here. Or to put it in other terms, I don’t know if I want to understand at all. Those shit-like horizontal spears are something that I do not want to believe just took place.
「YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!!!」
Turn it all into scrap! Then I pull out the Centipede Eight Zero Point Five Thousand from the wreckage of the instruments that still protected the other “me” and sprinkle it again. This is a one in a million opportunity right here! Better not waste it!
「Kuh, aaah……!」
But there is the time limit. The bluish-purple blade that was deployed because it did not have the resources to pay the cost of the Exceed Charge disappears in conjunction with the closing of the ax spear mechanism.
Then, “I” who received the love of the Diva orchestra no more jumps up with the force of a bird of prey that is no different from the mask.
What was held in his hand is a jet-black blade that spits out flames…… I cannot deal with it in time. Not when there are still things that I must do here!
「GAH!?」
I feel numbness spreading through my body. I can also feel waves of unbearable heat. There are also chills running up and down my spine like mad. It’s not something that would make me unable to operate properly, but it was certainly annoying and uncomfortable.
However,
「Nice Critical Hit……」
That’s what the skill “Fatal Gain” is for! And it was just in time for me to activate it!
While being this close from actually falling to the ground and dying, I managed to sharpen my consciousness that was about to give up on me and put all of the remaining strength that I had left in my wobbly legs.
The “gimmick” here is to simply block your way towards victory. It’s not about the ability or the damage dealt that decides about winning or losing. I thought that something was seriously wrong here, but I thought that it was because Gravekeeper Wezaemon’s Unique Scenario EX was fairly simple. However, it seems that the Orchestra’s Unique Scenario EX is way too short and way too monotonous.
Could it be that I made some sort of a mistake? What could I possibly overlook? Slow, so slow…… I try to think about it with all of my might, but even if I am going to find anything, I will be way too slow to actually do something about it.
That is exactly why it was only eight hits.
「…… Huh!?」
I take out Aradval Rebuild from my inventory and throw it towards the “Diva”. You try to put out the fire with water? Then prepare yourself to get stabbed with the sword in retaliation.
「Die……」
However, the sword that I threw with all of my rage and frustration never actually reached the “Diva”. It was not even close.
「……………」
The other “me” jumped up like a predatory bird in order to protect his beloved “Diva”, and then he caught Aradval Rebuild and then…… As if trying to say “Here, you can have this back!” he threw it back right into my chest.
「Thank you…… for…… everything, My…… My Master……」
It was then that I was skewered by Aradval Rebuild, and this time around my body started to feel weak and limp, and my vision slowly started to turn black……
「Ah……」
Hey, Sigma? What the hell is this? I know that we just got defeated and that you died, but…… Why was she looking as if she was about to burst into tears?
Something seemed to be clearly visible there…… GUBEH!
* * *
「……………」
「Ah! If it isn’t Sanraku-kun! It seems that you have managed to do a quite splendid of a job out there. But please do tell me…… What exactly happened there? I would really like to know.」
「……………」
But Sanraku just kept on walking straight ahead, without stopping or looking back at anyone else. It was as if in his world there was no longer any place for anyone else beside him. And it was such a shocking sight to behold that even the Professor was at a loss for words, not knowing what to do or say here.
On the surface Sanraku might have looked all calm and quiet, but once he would finally open up to the world once more, his ominous tranquility would blow out all at once, like a detonation of a makeshift bomb that was finally starting to have enough and decided it was high time to release all of its destructive potential onto the world.
「Ah, Sanraku-san! Perfect timing! I’m sorry for reporting it to you, but I happened to have a little chat with Daddy…… I-I mean, with the Boss! Yes, with the Boss! I definitely didn’t say “Daddy” here! But anyways, I wanted to let you know just how that thing went!」
「……………」
While the small Vorpal Bunny approached Sanraku without even the slightest level of alertness or the premonition that something was wrong and that Sanraku was not acting like his usual self, Sanraku picked him up casually, and then he put him on top of his head where the Vorpal Bunny rightfully belonged. Then Sanraku picked up on what he was doing before that short stop: he started to once more go through the Conquest Dolls’ base in complete and utter silence.
And then Sanraku eventually reached the front gate of the Conquest Doll’s base. He then took that gate and went right through it…… In other words, he was just outside. Then he started to silently stretch his body all over the place. Then he made absolutely sure that all of his body was properly warmed up and ready to go. Then finally he took a deep breath and……
「You Stupid! Motherfucking! God damned! Piece of shit! Shitty game!!!!!!!!! Get the fuck out of here and never come back! Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck FUCK!!!!!!!!!」
「HYOOOOOOBOOOOOOHHHH!? GYAAAAAAHHHHHH!? OOOOOOHHHHHH!?」
The raging soul lets out a bloodcurdling scream unlike any I have never heard before. It was in fact, a truly monstrous scream, one that you would honestly expect from a dying monster of this caliber. Then its body started to tremble all over like the leaves on the tree during a raging storm. That scream echoed for a long while around the theatre and eventually it started to die down and then it completely disappeared. Of course, it did just that, but not before actually causing some serious damage to the sensitive ears of the lone Vorpal Bunny who had the misfortune of being in this place at the time when all of this was going down.
Exactly three days later, one player would be announced as the one who conquered the Unique Monster Orchestra of the Gloomy Melody to the whole of the ShangriLa Frontier’s world.
