「I-Is that so…… Huh……」
「And let me tell you this as well, and I don’t mean to be rude to you. It’s just a fact. From what I can see, Rakuro-kun is not all that bad-looking himself, so you can bet that he is going to be quite popular with the ladies out there before you even know it.」
「HUH!?」
Yes, speaking to her in such a fashion was a more than desirable approach here, guaranteeing that she would listen carefully to every word that was being said. Rei was surely a cute, pure-hearted and a slightly clumsy girl, but that was not going to be enough here. At this rate, in the near future she would find that she would fall way behind the competition if she did not change her approach to certain things.
「Listen up, Rei-chan. High School life is nothing when compared to University life. When it comes to University life, it can either make it or break it right off the bat. That being said, when it comes to someone like Rakuro-kun, who is good-looking and can hold his ground in social situations, you can be sure that he is going to get invited to quite a lot of mixers. Now ask yourself this: do you want that to happen? Him getting snatched away from you before you can even make a move?」
「M-Mixers……!? S-Snatched away……!?」
「Also, Rakuro-kun might still be under-aged for now, but that won’t remain forever…… Once he comes of legal drinking age, you can bet that he is going to try out the now forbidden fruit that is alcohol, and you can be sure that this thing is going to work its magic on him!」

Well, from what he already knew, it seemed that another potent drug already had Rakuro-kun’s mind ensnared in its clutches, and that drug being caffeine. However, that fact was of little importance here right now, so he did not say that out loud.
「Not to mention that pretty soon you are going to enter your University exams period, right? So it will be nothing but studying for you guys. So that would mean that right about now is the only time for you and Rakuro-kun to have some fun together, right? So, wouldn’t it be great for you to use that opportunity? Surely you would not want to regret not doing anything now, would you?」
「I…… I guess that you are…… right……」
Iwakami was also aware of all of that. And it is precisely because he formulated his words in such a way, to make Rei aware of all of those facts and push her into action here. Because it should only be natural that she would not want to let Rakuro go simply because of her own indecisiveness. Besides, the University that they were most probably going to apply for is not all that hard to get into, but at the same time it was also not the easiest out there. So this means that even for someone who is good at studying and their grades are fairly high, on a level that they could spend all of their free time playing video games, some amount of studying for the entrance exams was still needed.
「What I want to say here is this: you are currently in your second year of high school: so it means more or less that now it’s your greatest chance to make a move. Surely you understand that?」
「Ugh…… Uuuhhh……」
「Look, I’m not saying that you need to confess your feeling for him right away here, but we at least need to make sure that this Shitty Games-for brains starts to perceive you as the member of the opposite sex, you got that?」
「I-Is that really how it is……?」
「Yes, that’s right. This is exactly how things like that go. Now then, listen to me, Rei-chan, and make sure that you are listening absolutely good, okay? For now we are not going to go straight towards kissing or hand-holding, because I can see that this is going to be way too much of a hurdle for you to overcome at the current moment. –––––– No matter how she would try to phrase or present it, there was no way that this thing would not totally look like an invitation for a date.
「………… No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no!!!」
Even though she was trying to do her best not to think about it too much, Iwamaki-san’s words still continued to reverberate inside of Rei’s mind. And while she was shaking her head furiously to chase those thoughts away, she also took out the JGE ticket from inside of her pocket and started to look at it closely.
「N-No, but seriously, no matter how you try to look at it, this is obviously going to be a d—d-d-date…… And I honestly think that this is actually way too fast for us to be doing things like that……」
However, there was actually not a single falsehood in what Iwamaki-san was saying earlier. The high school life that both Rei and Rakuro were living at the current moment…… It is true that in not all that long they will become third-years and they will have to focus on their exams first and foremost. So they did not have all that much time left for enjoying their youth. The only saving grace in here is that they are both going to go to the same University, so there’s that, but…… hearing what Iwamaki-san was saying about alcohol and mixer, Rei could not help it but to start and feel anxious every single time when she was remembering about that. She was also sure that she would not be able to catch a good night’s sleep for a while now.
「Kuh…… N-no, no! This is just…… yes! I can always start worrying about it later! Yes, I shall worry about crossing that bridge once I get to it! For now, let’s just focus on the things that can be done! And maybe…… Just maybe there will be some information regarding ShanFro during that event! Yes, that would make for a perfect excuse!」
Fortunately or unfortunately for Rei, she was still deeply troubled about how she would pass the ticket to Rakuro, but she decided to at least try not to worry about it all that much for now. However, she’s been thinking about it all morning, even while she was on her way to school. Today she did not even manage to meet him at their usual place, and today she seemed to be relieved by that turn of events…… And just like that she would soon arrive at school…… And then she happened to see him, completely out of the blue.
