ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 580: The Confrontation Is Just a Causal Response Part 1
Ten minutes after the improvised invasion. Escaping from a mass of unmanned slaughter weapons, we were resting in a room where Python managed to hack into and unlocked the security lock, which was apparently once a space for human NPCs to gather during their breaks.
「Alright, I would call that a successful infiltration, if I do say so myself.」
「Successful? We were literally blown away into the vacuum of space and then pushed forward! We almost died out there! And you call that a successful infiltration!?」
「Yeah, I mean, look! No one is dead. So that means that we managed to achieve our first goal. So how is that not a successful infiltration?」
「…… Yeah, I’m not all that into Cause and Effect Theory, but I do not really think that it applies here.」
Alright, Fox-san, listen here: unfortunately I must inform you that it is not all that convincing if someone who did not produce any kind of results starts to complain about the process and methods of those who did produce the results.
I didn’t honestly think that I would have to use one of my trump cards, like Gatling Gun and Power Armor in one of the very opening moves, but…… Oh well, I guess that when you have to do something about things like that, you just do them and do not complain too much. I mean, the hand gun that I have on me is pretty much garbage, but…… Or maybe not? Maybe I can use it for something after all? It’s really convenient, but in the current state, it can’t be helped. After all, a handgun is always going to be just that: a handgun.
「So, Python, how about it? If you were able to crack open an arsenal or armory for us that would be great. Also, maybe throw a control room or the generator room while you are at it?」
「Please, don’t talk about things that absolutely cannot be done. You only make yourself sound like a total fool. Terraton-Class security systems are on a completely different level than anything below this class. Portable hacking equipment is not going to be of much use here…… We will have to go all over this place, gradually disabling system lock after system lock to get what we want. The Terraton-Class spaceship is like a last dungeon if we want to put things into perspective here. 「No, this won’t do. Prior to the update you could use the service tunnels or air vents to get around the ship no problem, even getting to the bridge and the engine room, but no more. Not on the Terraton-Class ships. If we want to get anywhere on this thing, we will have to find appropriate transport pads that will take us to the different sections on the ship. 「Transfer pads? You mean like one of those things that you can find in here?」

Up until now we were all motivated to do this, but then I felt like our motivation started to go somewhere else entirely in a split of a second. But then all of a sudden, there was a strange bell-like sound that could be heard coming from the distance.

「What? Rhino-san, didn’t you hear about it? This war was on truce up until now, and it was supposed to be resumed at 7 pm of the next day. Gentlemen’s agreement? Does that ring any bells?」

Hmm, so there was such a thing taking place? I did not hear anything about that as well but…… Sometimes it is way better to just stay silent rather than downright admit that your knowledge is lacking.

「Alright, Captain Wolf! We are leaving this thing in your capable hands!」
「Even though you normally do not have any right to command anyone in here, please do your best out there, Captain Wolf!」
「Yeah, but why am I not happy in the slightest about this new position that was imposed on me all of a sudden? Oh well, a vote is a vote, so gotta stick to it. That’s the way a Wolf chooses to do things.」
「Ooohh, it seems that you really are safe and sound, after all. For the time being, what’s the situation in there?」
「For the time being, we have managed to successfully infiltrate the main ship. At the current moment we are hiding in one of the lounges that the NPC crew used for breaks and recreation.」
「Splendid, spending, that is actually very good to hear. Magnificent job, everyone! To tell you the truth, the battle situation here does not look too good. So even though you have managed to successfully infiltrate that ship, I’m afraid that we are not completely out of the woods yet. I’m sorry if any one of you would like to log out, but I would like to do a briefing right now if that is alright with you. Then I can listen to what you guys have to say.」
