Before I could even realize what was going on, someone was already attaching a pair of headphones to my ears. No! Don’t do this! Don’t make me watch this! Stop it with this inhuman torture! This is a violation of every treaty known to men!
「…… Ugh! ………… UGH!?」
「How do you like them apples, huh!? Infinite Playback Loop! In your face!」
「It seems that we have been deceived all this time.」
「H-Hizutome-kun……」
「Didn’t you say that you happen to, like, share some common interests with Hizutome-kun? Is that why you guys happen to get along so well? Because that would explain a whole lot of things here…… Like, based on that, you guys are not really dating, aren’t you? Look, we just want you to be clear about this with us here.」
「Stop repeating this shit…… Ugogogo…… I-Incidentally, what are the odds here?」
「About sixty percent of us think that you are actually dating.」
Oh yeah, so this means that we are cutting it dangerously close in here, huh? But depending on how it goes, it can either be really good, or turn out really poorly for me, not gonna lie to you here. Let’s just hope that the worst scenario is not going to pass.

「It’s ShangriLa Frontier, ShanFro for short. We happened to bump into one another when we went to the event associated with that game and we just decided to hang out for a bit.」
「Event associated with the game? You mean, like JGE?」
「Yeah, that one. You can say that we are gaming friends, of sorts. Well, I mean…… Some delinquent tried to mess with Saiga-san when the event was already over, so I wanted to intervene, but as it turns out, Saiga-san is more than capable of handling trash like that on her own. And I guess that’s about it, really. There is nothing more I can say here.」
Personally, I don’t think that playing video games is a cause for feeling ashamed about it or wanting to hide that fact. Surely, it may have been like that in the past, but right about now the social views on gamers underwent massive changes for the better. But well, about that…… It all really depends on what Saiga-san wishes to do in a situation like that. But usually gamers can be proud of who they are, and no one would willfully scorn them for being like that. Sure, I like to make gaming marathons over the weekends on some occasions, but I never allowed gaming to negatively affect my life. And surely I will not allow it to make my room into a mess, or force me to use a plastic bottle instead of a toilet. Of that you can be absolutely sure!
「So, Saiga-san is actually playing ShangriLa Frontier……」
「Why were you trying to hide it? It’s not like playing a video game is anything bad, you know?」
「Could it be that you wanted to experience it all on your own, without anyone actually spoiling the story for you?」
「Ahh, if you are playing it, would you like to play it together sometime? Only if you want to, that is!」
The sudden revelation that Saiga Rei is actually a gamer surely managed to spark some curiosity and doubt into the eyes of all who were interested in the ongoing situation. However, when it comes to Yamamoto of the Judo club who was standing behind me all this time…… Is that a coffee he has in his hands!?
「…… Want some?」
「Didn’t ask. Don’t need it. Go fuck yourself. But I would want something to drink here.」
「You can have this if you want. I thought it was something without sugar in it, but I was wrong. I don’t like things like that, so here.」
「Oh, that’s probably because they change the arrangement of the things in the vending machines every couple of months or so.」
When you are only used to pressing a specific button on the vending machine, once they change the layout of drinks there it is always a cause for major confusion. I mean, I usually only drink coffee from the vending machines, so I pay extra attention to what’s there, but I guess that a whole lot of guys do not even bother with registering what they are buying and drinking.
Apparently this meant that the investigation time was already over, and now the girls went back to their own business, doing girls talk and whatever else it is that they are usually doing. As for the boys, some of them were trying to press me for more details, but the vast majority apparently got bored and went back to doing their business as well. So, does that mean it is over……? But most importantly, I should report that damn video and make sure that no one else in the entire world is going to know about its existence!
「…………Hmm?」
Huh? Umm, what is that, oh yeah, that thing. Looks like someone managed to send the people here in the state of a major panic alright. Is that perhaps the Student Council President? And they have a really stern look painted on their face…… I mean, yeah, it was a given that the noise we were making would get reported. It was honestly surprising that it did not happen sooner. And judging by that expression on their face…… The conversation that is going to take place soon is not going to be a short one. And it surely won’t be pleasant. Oh well, I just hope that it won’t manage to throw that much of a wrench in my school life……
「Hey, I’m going to be a good cop for now. Would you like some katsudon or not?」
「Oh, that’s so kind of you.」
「Even though I said that, you are still going to pay for that afterwards, you know?」
「Hey, if you are offering something to someone, the least you could do is to but that thing for them!」
