ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 596: And Just Who’s Fault Do You Think It Is!? Part 2
Basically this Sigmonia Frontline Valley is an area that is shaped like a bowl, one that is really wide and really deep when you start thinking about it. Now, it was slight, but the movement of the hundred legs and the hundred feet have stopped just for a moment when the new contestant entered the fray here, and a one that was so formidable and powerful at the same time. It was certainly a challenge that our beloved spiders and centipedes would not let unnoticed.
This beetle is not like the other guys here, but if you were able to meet the residents who lived here longer than you did…… Things can get really ugly. Plus, the spiders and centipedes are making a whole lot of noise, so it’s only natural that they would draw the beetle to them. Now, it only took the Cyborg Beetle about three seconds to wraps its head around what was going on, and what fallowed…… Well, if the previous battles here were called a war, then this thing right here could very well be called a war to end all wars!
「Uwaah, god damn it nature, you are so scary sometimes……」
「L-Let’s just get the hell out of here while we still can…… This is no longer something that we can possibly interfere with……!」
See, this right here I do not understand. Vorpal Bunnies are supposed to be really courageous and seek battle with though opponents. So why is it that Emul is always first to run away from unique encounters like that?
Cyborg Kabuto’s plating may be hard and problematic to hit, but let’s how its going to handle the enemies of this size and firepower. I would certainly be afraid if I were in its position right about now. Especially if the enemies are of this particular caliber. But it seems that it also recognized the centipedes and spiders as its enemies, and it certainly did not looked to me that it was going to back down from this fight.
Alarmed by the appearance of the new enemy, the two types of giant enemies start to move towards it in order to engage. Of course, since its body is so long and it moves faster, the centipede would reach the Cyborg Kabuto way faster than the armored spider would, so things are surely about to get interesting in here. At the same time, the Fortress Gargantua readies one of its spider cannons to fire.
Cyborg Beetle dodges to the side, twists around and proceeds right ahead. Are you being serious here!? No, it is the battlefield right now, so it’s do or die for those guys! Of course the battle for survival would invoke some bullshit moves. But how is it going to fight against the poison cloud that’s coming right its way!?
However, this poison is a great neurotoxin that can act as a dope in certain situations. But for the Beetle it would sure not work in such a way, since there was so much of it and its body was much smaller than those of that centipede.
By if it was to tighten the armor around its whole body, it is possible to be able to prevent the neurotoxin to penetrate into its system!?
It may be tough, but we shall see if it is tough enough to withstand the full fury that this battlefield can rain down onto someone! I guess that it will still be able to move, but maybe its mobility is going to be lessened because of the need to protect itself against that poison cloud. It will certainly come at a price. And just as I was thinking that, there it is! A cannon shot from the Fortress Gargantua!
「A-A clean hit……」
Yeah, I also think so, too.
Not only the Cyborg Beetle was blown away by that attack, but the centipede was also affected, falling back like it was uppercutted all of a sudden. However, more than half of its body still remained, and it would still have a shot at that Kabuto before the spider would even get here.
「Ooh? And it was a Full Burst at that? Well, that’s rare!」
It is a special move of a Fortress Gargantua that carries out one heck of a punch by consuming a large amount of its hatchlings and energy. It is a technique that is mainly used as a trump card against the centipedes, but it is a rare motion that cannot be seen under normal circumstances, because of the conditions and the distance from the target that must be met. Not to mention that the blowback from this thing is also huge.
And there were also others in here as well. The Cyborg Beetles managed to avoid smaller centipedes and was starting to close the distance once more. It was also avoiding chunks of rocks and other debris that was flying through the air here. But it was then that the giant centipede swung its tail at it and managed to bring it down right on top of it with full power. Terrifying is the power of a grudge.
「Alright, this is our chance! Now we just need to get closer in order to get ourselves that sweet last hit!」
「Is that really something that we should be worrying ourselves about at this eact moment!?」
What’s so bad about letting those guys duke it out just so that we can finish the winner off? Isn’t it a wonderful tactics created by the nature itself? Besides, it’s called getting the best result with minimal effort. Even if you can beat the Extraordinary Monster here, it would have been really hard to do while fighting those other guys. Sure, my Vorpal Soul meter would have increased tremendously, but would it be really worth it?
「Now, here is a question that we need to ask ourselves: is the rare materials from Extraordinary Monster going to drop if it is the other monster that deals the final blow?」
