ShangriLa Frontier Chapter 635: Blowing Typhoon Action Part 1
Special Condition “Murder Sentence”. To make a long story short, it is a condition during which the hate and aggro of the enemy is going to be fixed solely on a singular target, to the point when either the target of the Murder Sentence is going to die or the one afflicted with it is going to be killed…… So it would seem that the Slaughter Demon, who was already a walking mass of killing intent and desire for destruction possessed a further “specialization” just like that.
「Kuuuooohhh…… Access Lifted!!」
The base of the arm that was previously cut off started to bulge and boil, as if something was about to emerge from the inside of the flesh at that point. And something sure did emerge from out of there, and it was nothing short of a long and muscular tentacle, spurting right from inside of the cross-section. And while it was a tentacle, it was nothing like that squid or octopi one that you see in various R-18 products, but it was a tentacle intended solely for a murderous purposes. It was thick and sturdy, and it looked like a rope or strings of metal wire being bundled together and twisted…… It was the kind of tentacle that if it was to catch you, you would sooner let out a scream filled with pain from your mouth rather than a shriek of pleasure.
So now I guess that I will have to optimize my strategy, adjusting it to the fact that the Slaughter Demon now had four rope-like tentacles for arms and was still holding onto two different weapons. It’s not like it cannot be done, but it would be such a drag to do on the spot. Now that I think about it, I don’t think that Allslot or the Magic Swordfighter had any skills that involved fighting with a whip, or at the very least I sure hope so that they had no skills like that. So that means that the way and technique in which the Slaughter Demon was operating those tentacles would be the one that was its very own. …… But at this point in time it doesn’t really matter all that much, anyways.
But the tentacles themselves are not the real problem here. The real problem here is the “claw” that grows out of the tip of each tentacle, and it was something that turned out to be way more problematic to deal with than I would have initially expected. Because they were giving the Slaughter Demon and entirely new reach and distance to its attacks, my attacks were suddenly proving to be little to non-effective. I am mainly a close-range type, not a medium-range type of a fighter, after all. And that is without mentioning that the already sturdy super armor of the demon just changed into a perfect super armor. And let’s not forget that it was still resistant to most attack types and debuffs and additional effects. Man, this thing has it all right now, huh?
And here’s a little question for all of you out there: do you happen to know the different way in which you can call a Perfect Super Armor? It’s called being “Virtually Invincible” mode. Note that down, because it’s going to be on the test.
「Hey, Sanraku-kun, do your best~! Don’t ever give up! Keep up the good work! Fight on!」
「Oh yeah, now you start cheering me on of all times!? Because you know that you don’t have to fight this battle!? You absolute bitch! Why don’t you come over here and have a go at this yourseeeeelffffff!!!」
What the hell is that even, that “claw” at the tip of that tentacle!? Why is it there in the first place!? And why is it so hard!? At this rate actually destroying this thing might turn out to be impossible! And how am I even supposed to damage this thing now!? This Perfect Super Armor is a little bit TOO perfect! And the fact that while I’m doing my best to avoid those tentacles results in other RPA players getting caught by them instead is just too cruel and messed up! What the hell is this!? Insta-death!? It surely looked like it! Tentacles with an insta-death effect!? Give me a fucking break here!!
Is it just me, or does the degree of shitiness of this monster started to go up all of a sudden!? Or not even go up, it was surging through the roof at this point in time! I know that this thing is supposed to be durable as all shit, but holy fuck if this isn’t overdoing it!! I try to go back a little bit to reorganize, allowing other players to cover for me for a moment. However, it seems that not even the Armor Piercing attacks of Pencilgton’s Holy Lance were able to cause this monster to back down or even slow down with its advance even for a little bit. I can also see that more and more players are starting to feel like this thing is actually invincible and that there is virtually nothing that we can do in order to stop it……
「The Poison debuff no longer seems to work! At this point in time, I don’t really think that there is actually something that can be done about this thing! Like, at all!」
「Ahh…… So this is it. The worst state of invincibility that there can possibly be. So we can assume that it will continue to be virtually indestructible until Sanraku-kun kicks the bucket, huh……?」
「If this sort of things happen, I want you to keep on fighting this monstrosity for three days and three nights without a break, try to wear it down! Maybe this will help? It probably won’t, but who knows?」
Yeah, that being said, I’m sorry! I’m not going to go for a self-sacrifice in here! Forget about it! I always aim at the complete victory! And dying in order to win is only a half-victory at best! A complete victory is when you kill your opponent to death and live to tell the tale! Besides, I don’t want to die so that this fucker Allslot can regain his body! No sir! But there is a little bit of saving grace in this whole situation: the Slaughter Demon might be invincible, but when it comes to speed, it can’t possibly match me in that regard!
The tip of the tentacle aims straight towards me, as if it was possessed by some sort of a homing ability. However, that whole “homing” did not seem all that good, not to mention that the “claw” was actually the size of a small soccer ball. So evading this thing was relatively easy, as long as you keep on jumping sideways, accelerate in mid-air, rotate, managed the aggro, rotate, rotate, and then rotate some more. Jumping accelerating, rotating and so on and so forth…… Surely you get the gist of it by now, don’t you?
「Hey, Tschinoko-san!? Aren’t you getting dizzy from all of that jumping and rotating!? It looks really rough from the third person’s perspective!」
「Not really! You get used to it after a while ––––––!!!」
