CHAPTER 107: DANGER LEVEL

***VITOU’S POV***

And off she goes. I knew there was no point in stopping her. Honestly I was glad she took off, as I will not have to worry about my father trying to pull off a stunt like that. The earlier moment was more dangerous than what Naoko-san thought. That combination of oversized clothes dealt a critical hit to me.

“Daisuke, Taichi I know you are listening, so just come in. She already left.”

I called the two of them who, without a doubt, were curious about the situation inside the room.

After all, Naoko-san is someone from their original world and both showed admiration towards her at some point in the past.

Two of them entered looking as guilty as one can be. I didn’t plan on scolding them for listening in, however there was something I needed to discuss with them.

“You called Your Highness?”

“Yeah, there are a few things I must ask you and it is about Naoko-san. Taichi, you knew her from before; compared to her strength then and now what would you say.”

Never before have I tried investigating Naoko-san, but after fighting with her today I felt pressured and even threatened by her strength. That is something I didn’t like. I also realized she had grown much stronger over the past three months.

“Boss, I can’t compare the two because from where I knew her it was a game, not a reality.”

“So what, a game still needs real skill to be shown, otherwise how can you play.”

“No, umm… a game I am talking about is different. You don’t have to know how to fight to be able to defeat many others. This is how computer games go. Plus, when fighting, you have a system that assists you and corrects your movement, aim and posture automatically. That is a whole new reality inside. For that reason, I cannot compare the two.”

Just what kind of game is he talking about? Computer, system assist; I have no idea what these words mean, but from his explanation I could get the gist.

“Then I just what your opinion on her, as objective as possible, so put away your admiration of her aside.”

Since I am aware of that man and her connection to him I tend to keep her at bay and want to keep her like that, but hearing opinions from others is important as well.

“She’s an enigma. She doesn’t want to deal with anything troublesome, but keeps on taking on such troublesome things and entering the spotlight without wanting to. I have a feeling she will treat you the same way you treat her and will not tolerate disrespect. And lastly don’t try and harm those closest to her. You saw how she reacted to us trying to attack her pet serpent. She didn’t bother thinking and retaliated immediately. Also, back in Kapitalia, she really takes good care of all her underlings, even though she looks cold on the outside. I asked around and it seems she visited the capital every week to check on them even though she was in Orzak most of the time. In one word she is a tsundere. Oh, this only applies to sober Naoko, her drunk personality is a story for itself.”

I can agree to that statement. The first time I saw her was when she was drunk and that persona was definitely someone I wouldn’t mind having as a queen, not that I dare to admit it out loud.

“Daisuke, what about you? What do you think about her, especially knowing her status and all the data she keeps hidden from the rest of us.”

“Maeda-san is a sleeping tiger, one which I really don’t plan on poking unless there is no other choice. I am all up for spending time with her and just hanging around as she seems like a truly kind person. I just don’t want to ever provoke her, because if I do, I will be in big trouble. That is all I think about her.”

So he also wants to keep a certain distance with her in fear of crossing her line. It seems that he has a similar opinion to mine. I guess I should be happy that she really didn’t have enough strength to kill us all earlier, because if she could have, she would do so without batting an eye.

“How are her stats now compared to the tournament? She seemed to have grown much stronger. This Naoko makes me feel real pressure when facing her even without her using any tricks.”

“Level and stats have not changed that much, but her overall skill levels have grown from what I have noticed and she should have learned quite a few new skills. It seems she put quite a lot of effort into grinding skills over leveling up. She already knows how to improve herself efficiently.”

So that is the case, most people that I know, only focus on level and that is why they can never reach the true pinnacle of power. That is why the true geniuses all have a high degree of skill mastery. But I think that Naoko-san is a category that goes beyond geniuses; after all, she is only seventeen and has been in this world for less than a year.

“You can also see danger level as well can’t you? You said it is not easy to read since it changes according to the feelings of people and their actions. What was her danger level before you stopped her attack earlier?”

Daisuke was hesitating. That bad, huh? I assumed as much, but getting confirmation is better.

“It would be categorized as SSS+ rank, if you used the scale for monsters. She should be on par with fully grown dragons blessed with elemental powers. Still somewhat manageable, but you will need a lot of people to take her down.”

Actually, that is better than what I originally thought, but then again, maybe father is right and I should marry her in order to keep her close and on a leash so she doesn’t start doing something that will turn detrimental to my kingdom. It was just a passing thought and I quickly dismissed it; I should get a wife soon, a normal wife.

Greeting the rising sun I prepared myself for another day of extreme nagging, now that Naoko-san had left and I let her go so easily. Soon this trip will be over and I will be back in my office surrounded by familiar papers.
