CHAPTER 187: AGREEMENT

***VITOU’S POV***

“Okay Nao-chan, why were your drinking with him in the first place? You never drink willingly.”

“I wanted to piss you off, but he is too much of a playboy to actually hook up with. Also when I heard he’s your friend it made me lose interest. Although he does know how to drink, I’d give him that.”

She poured me a drink and I accept it naturally before I realized what she was doing. Hell no, I am not drinking with her ever again. Once is more than enough, besides we’re fighting currently.

“I need you to sober up, not continue drinking.”

“Yeah right, so you can continue stopping me from having fun. You’re not getting any effort points this way sweety. Taichi, Dai-kun, come drink with me. I promise to heal your hangover later on.”

And back to ignoring me. Luckily the two of them knew better than to drink with her. Like pretty much everyone else that drank with her, the two of them had bad memories of that experience. She looked extremely sad when all three of us declined her offer.

“Look Nao-chan, we need to talk and I really need you to remember what you said, so how about I record all this. Are you okay with it?”

“Vitou, getting kinky, recording crystals are expensive. But I as your best friend will take responsibility and record the best video ever. You just need to relax and pretend like I am not here at all. This will revolutionize the world. Imagine the amount people would pay for this sole copy of the act that brought on the birth of a royal heir.”

What the hell Marc? How can you even think about using recording crystals for such a shameless thing?

“Marc, you’re adorable. I want to give you access to the internet for at least a day. You would be reborn once you surf for a bit. But Vitou, what is it that you want from this Queen that you have to record it.”

“I want you to agree to the terms that you will abide by all laws and protocols that follow on our way to Vilikis. I also want you to agree to the party condition if you want to complete requests, five people alongside me. Nakamura, Ishikawa and Mia-san being the other three.”

The dunk Naoko is much more unreasonable with her behavior, but getting her to agree is actually easier. But I will have to bet something as well.

“Let’s say I agree to all that, what’s in it for me? I have to share experience with six other people, travelling will be slow since none of you can use space magic. Call me whiny but travelling by carriage is not for me.”

That is hard to deny. Time to offer her something in return before she starts demanding more unreasonable things.

“You get to go out and you get priority pick on all materials we come across. And if you do this, I will allow any request to be taken as long as we get back to Kapitalia in ten weeks.”

She was considering it. Please accept it and don’t bother changing the items. If she goes to look for more wyverns I will lose any chance of obtaining them for the kingdom.

“How about this, if, and only if I agree to this silly party business of yours not only do I get priority pick, but I also want two accessories from the royal treasury.”

Ouch, I’m certain that she will not settle for any normal or rare accessories. Plus the royal treasure is not open for anyone without a reason. This will definitely bite us in the back later on, but now I don’t think I would getter a better offer from her.

“Fine, I will go there personally with you. Does that mean you agree with the conditions? Can I now relax and not worry about you escaping the castle or while we’re on the road or getting kidnapped?”

It’s good. With the Black Hand making a move, using this opportunity to look for them and weakening them even slightly will be good. I may not be able to come and go freely from Kapitalia, but this is a good reason. I need to protect my bride to be and the public will love it as well. The only thing left to do is to get her sober and make her choose the two companions.

“Humpf, as if I would get kidnapped that easily. I can escape any entrapment. You should know it, this Queen is unstoppable. Also I’m fine going to the treasury later when I’m sober, I will make sure to take what I really need.”

I am sure she will. Now I should probably have her write a written statement so that her sober self cannot say anything at all against me. I will have material and viewing evidence. This way there is no telling that she was tricked or something.

“Here write down exactly what we agreed on and I forgot, but if you already know who you’re bringing along make sure you write their names down. Just don’t make the party too unbalanced.”

She took the pen and paper and immediately wrote down everything and even signed it and stamped her seal. She returned it to me and waited for my signature. I skimmed through the agreement that sounded more like a contract than a statement. She left the table giving me time to read through it.

I saw the points she wrote down and found them to be quite simple and straightforward. It was exactly what we agreed on. I signed it and looked up only to see her giving a high five to Marc. Did I miss something?

“I’ll be looking forward to travelling with you Naoko-chan. But I must say you gave me quite the surprise with how well you can act.”

“Marc, you’re quite the talent yourself. The punishment scene and your crying had even me convinced completely and I knew what was going on.”

What is going on? Why are the two of them acting so chummy with each other? What does he mean travelling together? I took another look at the contract and there was written in extra fine print that the companions she chooses cannot be swapped no matter who objects. But why Marc of all people, she doesn’t even know him?

“What’s the meaning of this?”

“What do you think? I wanted to get back at you and he wanted to go, so I decided to cooperate with him. Why didn’t you introduce him to me earlier, he is so much better than you are. Marc, on the journey make sure you keep Vitou in check for me. That’s the deal.”

I couldn’t believe the two of them, how could they go behind my back to deal with me. I will definitely have my revenge.
