CHAPTER 205: A BIG BOOM

***VITOU’S POV***

“I’m out, I don’t want to fight. It is too reckless and stupid.”

“You have no choice, my inn, my rules and right now I say you are getting a beating. You can choose not to resist, but I will beat you one way or the other.”

I said I missed the Queen Naoko personality, but I completely forgot that there is no discussing with her. I should have been the one in charge and not her. Wait, why did the Archduke give her alcohol in the first place? It almost seems like he wanted more chaos.

“Vitou, let me deal with her. I was the one that brought her out and that is because I needed her to become just a tad bit more reckless and unreasonable. Don’t worry, once I’m finished she will lose all interest in trying to beat you up.”

Naoko didn’t seem to agree with his statement, because right now I could hear her snort and saw her rolling her eyes and sticking out her tongue at him. This childish action coupled with her overbearing attitude made her seem that much cuter.

“Taichi, want to bet? I say she will be defeated in less than ten moves.”

“You are underestimating her, I give it twenty moves. I bet she will be able to evade enough to last that long.”

“Naoko-chan will be done in five moves. I know what that man is able to do and I can’t even fathom her withstanding a single attack. But I will give her the benefit of the doubt in respect to her fame.”

How can they act so carefree? Aren’t they worried about the consequences of their battle? If they hurt each other, or any of the dragons in the valley outside, it will be a huge disaster. Not to mention that either one of them might cause earthquakes or landslides or any other natural disaster as they fight. Actually, I can basically count on it to happen if they don’t restrict themselves. Dear gods above, save us.

“I oppose this! It is completely unsafe. Find another way to deal with your frustrations. If you decide to fight this place will be destroyed, and don’t even try saying it won’t because it will. The rest of you should be trying to stop them and not start a gambling house.”

“Vitou, you’re no fun at all. I on the other hand, can’t wait to see Naoko fight. I was passed out last time in the capital so I didn’t get to see her sweep the undead army. I want to know to what extent your wife can go and how strong she really is.”

That is not the point Marc. You should wait for an opportunity where the lives of the rest of us are not at stake.

“Oh grow a pair and just let it be. This place you to be a dungeon. If it withstood that, I can definitely withstand me whooping you asses.”

She didn’t argue anymore and went outside yelling out something in draconic. Seriously, how can she just waltz in among all those dragons and yell like that? Isn’t she afraid that they might get offended and attack her first?

“Nakamura, place a barrier around us, Mia lend him a hand. We will need this if we plan on coming out unharmed.”

“Yessir!”

Thankfully Mia still seemed to be reasonable and was not participating in the betting or cheering for anyone. At least there is one sane person left in this whole group. Seeing that everything was pretty much finished I directed my attention back to Naoko and the Archduke.

The two of them moved away and stood at the center of the lake. The dragons that were currently here all moved away and the valley soon became empty. Fulgy was the one that was leading the dragons away. I kind of thought that he would fight alongside Naoko, but at the same time I didn’t want him to do that, so seeing this came as a relief. I really don’t like seeing the two of them together.

“Boss, what exactly are they planning on doing? The mana building up here is outright scary.”

“I have no idea. The last time I felt this much mana in a single place was when a dungeon exploded.”

If I were outside and didn’t know what has been going on for the past few days I would report a newly discovered dungeon from the mere amount of mana being detected at the valley. Luckily because I knew what happened there was no need to panic about a new dungeon being formed, although I will have to have someone monitor this area in the future. According to what Nakamura and Ishikawa reported after their daily reconnaissance more and more monsters are gathering outside the valley, but since there are so many dragons here, they are not willing to approach. It would be best to have someone stay here and clear the area so that a horde doesn’t form.

I didn’t want to miss a single thing from the fight that they are about to have. The tension between the two of them was reaching its peak. Just by standing here it was starting to become hard to breathe. Their oppressiveness was already bigger than that of dragons that were here before. I never noticed how they were able to become so monstrous.

“Nakamura, can you read her stats now? I think Naoko might have a skill that you haven’t seen yet that allows her to become stronger when in battle. The main thing that I want to check is her mana pool.”

She always had enough mana to cast spells continuously without ever getting tired. That means that either her mana pool gets larger or the cost of her magic becomes lower. However, considering that she always seems different when in battle I want to go with the first option.

“You are correct, her power had definitely raised, I don’t have a specific number, but it should be that her base stats have been raised by a third or a fourth of their original strength. I don’t know what blessing she got to gain such power, but this is not your everyday buff that you see.”

Say what, her base stats have increased? So it is not some additional power that is added next to the number of the base stat, but the very number itself that increases? That is insane, the power she can get out of items this way becomes much more formidable. I don’t think I can even hope of keeping her under control if she grows any stronger. Even if she just decides to spend her level up points will become impossible to control her.

“Excuse me, Your Highness, but I have a concern. I never read anything about this in the library and since we are in this situation I can’t help but wonder. How exactly are dungeons formed? I mean could all this mana in the air run wild and…”

Mia didn’t need to finish her sentence. I felt goosebumps. This is classified information that only a select few have access to. But it has been recorded that in special areas with strong mana sources or mana veins when a lot of mana gets gathered and something like an earthquake, explosion or something like that triggers it, one of the outcomes can be that a dungeon is formed.

Before I could stop the two from fighting an explosion sounded throughout the valley and mixture of vapor and dust made it impossible to see what was going on, but the mana wave that followed the explosion was unmistakable.
I didn’t wait and immediately summoned the wind to clear away the dust. I needed to destroy this dungeon before it was too late. And then I need to scold Naoko for causing all this. Although I am sure she had no idea what she did. Archduke will also hear from me.
