Forming a Party

We start walking, aiming for the second stratum of the labyrinth. The path to the staircase is a path taken by many adventurers, so the encounter rate with enemies is low. I find two spotted spiders in a passageway in a different direction from the stairs, where we are headed. I guess this is a good opportunity to show them my power.
「There are two spotted spiders on the wall over there, right? I’ll take them down, so watch closely, you two.」
Saying so, I walk slowly toward the spotted spiders, and when I am about four meters in front of them, I close my distance with them using instant step and body enhancement and kill the two spotted spiders.

「Sei-san, you’re amazing.」
「Alright, now I’m going to ask you two to take out the magic stones. I will give you a knife and leather gloves for dismantling, so use them with care.」
The two awkwardly take out the magic stones. I thought Marin would be uncomfortable with it, but she is putting her everything into her works.

We head to the second stratum, and I start my map making work. Even so, after walking for about 10 minutes, we encounter two goblins. The other side seems to have noticed us, too.

The passageway is about five meters wide. And the enemies are pretty much standing side by side. Alto and Marin discuss some strategy and confront the enemies.
Alto uses instant step to get behind the goblins. While he is at it, he swings his sword down at the thigh of one of the goblins, making it fall to its knees. Although it turns into a melee battle from then on, Alto fights safely using hit-and-run tactic, while Marin keeps her opponent in check using her shield and unleashes stabs using her sword, and the two eventually manage to defeat the goblins without suffering any injuries.
When I appraise them, I find that Marin’s level has gone up to 4.
「Alright, you did well. Now take out the magic stones. For goblins, it’s around the base of the neck. And make sure not to neglect your enemy detection, okay? If we get attacked by rock dogs, they can close the distance in an instant, after all.」
We are about to walk again after the two finished taking out the magic stones, but I feel something is not right as I look at Marin’s movements when she tries to carry her shield.

Yup, when it comes to someone as straightforward as Alto, they sure are easy to deal with.

Keeping their distance from the rock dog that has lost its limbs, the two surround the other rock dog and attack it. It takes some time, but it seems they are able to defeat it. After finishing off the second dog, too, we drain their blood, and dismantle them. Given that they are brother and sister, the two seem to have good coordination. Although our share would end up decreasing, I guess we should consider forming a party with other adventurers, too.
