A volcanic eruption—a cataclysmic disaster that could have wiped out the entire Independent Trade City. And yet, when the dust finally settled, a lot of things had taken a turn for the better.

Not only did they manage to push back the lava, but they also gained the allegiance of a powerful weapon—the existing Sacred Sword—and learned various truths directly from her. Up until now, they had always been one step behind—against enemy nations, against natural disasters, against Valbanill, and even in forging a Sacred Sword. Compared to that, this was a massive leap forward.

But even so, they couldn’t celebrate without reservation.
