Heavy as Lead – Part 03

“Haaaaah!”

The tall Hazel swung a blunted training sword with brute force. Cecily parried with a similar weapon and lightly tapped Hazel’s unguarded foot with the tip of her armored boot. Thrown off balance by her own momentum, Hazel crashed face-first into the ground.

Meanwhile, Hilda silently crept closer and thrust a wooden sword at Cecily’s forehead. Cecily dodged by tilting her head to the side, then swept her blade across Hilda’s exposed flank.

Hilda intercepted the strike with a second wooden sword in her left hand. She intended to parry it the same way Cecily had done to Hazel, but Cecily’s strength overpowered her. The unexpected force sent Hilda stumbling backward.

Cecily glided forward to close the gap and brought her sword down in a vertical slash. Hilda barely managed to wedge her left sword between the descending blade and her forehead, but the impact was too much,
