Horatio stood frozen, stunned by the lion’s emergence.

How can such a thing even exist?

Horatio found himself facing the Infernal Blade Veronica’s fangs and blood-soaked blades. The lion lunged at him like a battering ram.

“Haaaah!”

Horatio jammed his bastard sword into its jaws, stopping its charge. The beast’s fangs scraped against the blade, producing a harsh screech. Cold sweat trickled down his brow. Had his weapon not been the Infernal Blade Francisca, the sword would have snapped, and he would have met his end then and there.

Blade clashed with fangs as Horatio and the lion strained against each other, locked in a fierce contest of strength.

Siegfried and the others watched it all unfold from the watchtower.
