“Is it really the right decision to side with the Imperial Federation?” Charlotte asked.
“Huh?”
The older men frowned, but Charlotte didn’t flinch in the slightest.
“The Imperial Federation condones the slave system of the former Crowd Powers and allegedly possesses numerous terrifying Inhuman weapons. I hear the emperor in the capital is nothing but a puppet to his retainers. If we align with such a nation, we may be heading straight into a dark age.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” one of the men scoffed. He had just been arguing against siding with the Independent Trade City. “Who the hell are you, butting in like this? If we go to war with them and lose, we’ll really be facing a dark age. A kid like you can’t possibly understand.”
“So you’re saying we should submit to the Imperial Federation?”
“That’s not what I’m saying! We should negotiate peace.”
“Peace, huh?
