“The girl who gave birth to me offered one of her arms to the Aetheria as payment. Later, she risked the rest of her body to birth another demon.”

It came out of nowhere.

Siegfried raised an eyebrow and glanced at Evadne’s face. “What?”

“That demon mated with a female human, and the female human gave birth to you.”

There was no need to reaffirm what was already an established fact. Siegfried didn’t understand what she was trying to say, so he just frowned and waited for her to continue.

“I have always been with you. Everything you’ve seen and heard until now, I have seen and heard it all at your side as well. That’s why she remembers. So I remember.”

“Remember what?”

Evadne turned her face toward him and fixed him with a steady gaze.

“The words you just spoke. They were once said to you yourself.”
