But the demon nesting in Luke’s left eye socket—his Infernal Eye—wouldn’t allow it. Through its enhanced vision, Luke caught the subtle shifts in Horatio’s posture, predicting his next move. He chased after the man, sticking closely. Horatio’s eyes widened.

Luke drove a weighty slash into Horatio’s exposed side. The flank of Horatio’s black armor shattered, and the warrior’s massive body was launched like a ragdoll. He tumbled violently across the gravel, but used that momentum to spring back onto his feet.

Luke, already anticipating the move, was already on him. He thrust the tip of his blade at the warrior’s forehead.
