“The plan is simple,” Luke explained to the group. “We force its head down to the ground. Make it open its mouth. Cecily jumps in. That’s it.”

The responses were varied.

“What do you mean, that’s it?” Doris snapped. “You make it sound so easy.”

“Is that even possible?” Hazel asked nervously.

Ewen sighed. “There’s really no other choice, is there?”

“Anytime I get involved with you people, it always turns into a disaster,” Hilda grumbled.

But not a single one of them turned to run. Cecily felt proud of every one of them.

“It’s not like we don’t have a plan. It’s a really simple one. If everything goes well, we might be able to pull off exactly what Luke just described.”

Cecily explained the specifics quickly. There was no time to analyze it in detail. As soon as she finished with “That’s it,” everyone sprang into action.
