And yet, in this particular spot, it was the exact opposite. A crowd packed the area.

When the feast began, only a handful of people had been present. Per the bride’s wishes, it was meant to be a modest gathering of family and close friends, with everyone bringing food and drinks to share. But once word got out, citizens began arriving one after another, dropping off celebratory dishes and gifts. It turned into a mini festival of sorts, like everyone left in the city had gathered here.

Cecily Campbell, one of the stars of the day, could barely move as she tried to respond to all the guests offering their well wishes.

Even in the crowd, her fiery red hair and crimson eyes made her easy to spot. She wore makeup for once today, and her pure white bridal gown gleamed in the soft, springtime sun. A small silver
