The capital of the Militant Nation was a massive circular fortress city, enclosed by three concentric walls. It was built to withstand long-term sieges. Beyond the outermost wall stretched a wide plain, perfect for arranging troops to face incoming enemies.

The lower town, where civilians lived, lay within the second wall. As the region was cold, most buildings were made of brick rather than stone. According to the driver, the capital was designed with close proximity between homes and workplaces, so residential and industrial zones stood side by side.

Because they were in the middle of an escape, the carriage carrying Charlotte and her companions avoided the main roads, slipping through the innermost wall—the castle wall—via a back entrance. Inside, several towers stood tall, surrounded at their bases by massive brick and stone structures.

This was the main castle of the Militant Nation’s capital.
