The Sacred Blacksmith – Part 10
Left alone in the forge, Lisa exploded, like something inside her snapped loose.
Screeching, she grabbed the nearest hammer and swung wildly. She knocked over swords leaning against the wall. She flipped the charcoal box Eliza had been sitting on. She hurled lumps of jewel steel and meteoric iron against the walls, smashing everything in reach.
Then her gaze fell on a blade. The one she had forged for years, pouring her own life into it. The blade that was indispensable to saving Aria.
She snatched it up, raised it over her head, ready to slam it down in blind fury—and stopped.
Panting hard, she let her arm drop and collapsed onto the floor, lying on her back. She set the blade beside her with the last of her restraint and covered her face with both hands.
She groaned, but no tears came. Still, she kept groaning.
