Rumble.

The ground trembled as the Infernal Blade’s protection faded. Luke and the others nearly lost their footing. Cracks ran through the walls and ceiling, sending shards of ice cascading down as the cavern began to collapse. Black smoke gushed from the fissured floor, and the remaining knights and soldiers erupted into chaos.

Pale-faced, Cecily asked, “Is there really nothing we can do?”

Luke had no answer. If they failed to act, Valbanill would awaken. No one knew exactly what catastrophe the worst Inhuman in history would bring, but one thing was certain—the danger wouldn’t just be limited to the Independent Trade City. The entire continent was at great risk.

The tremors grew stronger with each passing second.
