Trial – Part 06

Luke and Ewen barely managed to break through the cage of limbs.

However, they had only escaped deeper into the cave, with no sign of an exit. The situation remained unchanged. They tried another Prayer Pact, but once again, failed to determine which way to go. Their only choice was to press on blindly through the darkness.

After receiving treatment through Ewen’s Prayer Pact, Luke tore off part of his sleeve to remake his foot coverings.

“Which will run out first, the fabric or our chances of getting out of here?”

“Don’t jinx it.”

After a brief rest, they resumed their exploration.

No matter how far they walked, the scenery never changed. A chaotic maze of caves twisted in every direction. The ground rose and fell unpredictably. Massive mounds of lava rock loomed like walls. The thick darkness swallowed the glow of their lamp.

Before long, their senses dulled.
