We might all die here, every last one of us.

Hannibal’s voice crackled through the noise.

“We were outmatched from the start. We have soldiers from the Militant Nation, but they still outnumber us by several times. If we fought them head-on, we would get wiped out.”

It was a transmission through a Prayer Pact.

Multiple pieces of jewel steel were placed at key locations, and by performing the Pact, they resonated with one another. Voices sent from these fixed points traveled great distances through the jewel steel, allowing communication between distant parties. It was a new form of Prayer Pact, invented by the Militant Nation’s scholar, Ewen Benjamin.

Hannibal’s voice reached every post through the jewel steel.

“Unlike the Knight Guard from the Independent Trade City, the Imperial Knights led by Augustus Arthur are made up of legitimate nobility. They’re probably a bunch of
