“Guess I’m screwed.” Luke laughed bitterly.

I’ll dodge it.

He would survive. There was no way he’d let himself die here for nothing. He dropped low to evade.

“Ugh… guh!”

Something was wrong. A sharp pain erupted deep in his gut and surged upward, bursting from his mouth. He vomited a flood of blood and dropped to his knees.

“Luke! What’s wrong?!” Reginald exclaimed through the buzz of the fighters.

But it didn’t register in Luke’s ears. Disoriented from sudden blood loss, he was focused solely on staying focused. He stared blankly at his blood-covered hand.

“Wh-What… is this?”

What caused this?

Did that blow earlier damage his organs? Was it overuse of the Infernal Eye?

“What’s wrong?”

He turned his gaze slowly toward the voice.

Horatio, still holding his high stance, asked, “Are you sick with something?”

“Sick?”

“Whatever the case, I’m disappointed. We’ve barely even crossed swords.”
