Valbanill 2 – Part 23

The frozen chamber, a large space sealed from wall to floor to ceiling in crystal-clear ice, felt like a kind of tomb.

Two chokutō glowed pale blue at the center, surrounded by countless other swords embedded across the floor. There had to be at least a hundred, thrust into the ground here and there.

The ice seal came from the power of the two chokutō—an Infernal Blade and an Infernal Katana—while the other swords acted as support. The frozen space itself served as a lid, sealing Valbanill deep within the volcano. These swords, therefore, were essential to that lid.

Black flames swept through and tore them down. One after another, the swords were blown away by the black heatwave. The two chokutō were likewise struck midair by other drifting blades, knocked off the icy floor. They shattered on impact and crumbled to dust.
