Yep. It took some time to compile, but for someone with a heart for neatness like myself, it was very much worth it.

But I wasn’t too sure what a Forest Tiger would fuse with.

I had a feeling Irina would probably be able to fuse together the bat and the fairy.

 

I asked Irina to summon Blackwing the Bat and Muret the Fairy at the same time.

Again, I tried using 【Fusion identification】.

Bingo!

 

But there was one major issue in the way.

As expected, I couldn’t use 【Fuse Monsters】 on Summon Monsters I didn’t own.

 

I couldn’t believe I was so careless…

I never used 【Fusion Identification】 on Ligand.

Maybe the presence of Telomere the Vampire kind of solidified the notion in my head that a Bat couldn’t lead into anything except a Vampire.

What a trap I had fallen into.

 

「Hey you two, what levels are your 【Alchemy】 skills at?」

 

「Level 10.」

 

「Me too!」

 

「Hmm, me too…  In that case, I have a feeling that you’ll be able to use 【Fusion Identification】 and 【Fuse Monsters】 quite soon, when your 【Summon Magic】 skills level up again.」

 

「I feel like that’s still a long way off though.」

 

「Totally!」

 

「Well, in any case, it looks like it’s going to be possible for you to fuse the Fairy and the Bat together.」

I really had to thank Adele and Irina though…

Thanks to them, I didn’t have to worry about which Summon Monster I would have to summon next.

I already had a Bat.

I just had to summon a Fairy now.

Hope was starting to build up within me.

 

After a lot of thought, Irina decided to go for the Forest Tiger.

Looked like she decided to take my input.

Apparently, she was originally going to go for the Sturmtiger.

Adele had already chosen the Forest Tiger, after all.

But she changed her mind when she heard that the Forest Tiger could be used in fusion.

Well, I would have done the same.

But Sturmtigers weren’t so bad either, you know?

 

Anyway…

It was about time to return to hunting. The three of us changed our teams back to what we started with.

No, Irina went and recalled her Bat and one of her Fairies, and summoned an Owl and a Wolf.

Yep. Our ways of thinking were quite similar in a way.

I had a guess as to why she did that…

Adele went back to her original team.

Adele’s thoughts, on the other hand, were completely unknown to me.

Girls are difficult.

 

As daybreak was nearing, I managed to spot a herd of Centaurs in the distance.

Of course, I didn’t bother calling them.

I had learnt from my old experiences that it probably wasn’t a good idea.

But any Skeleton Raptors and Float Eyes that were in my way I took care of.

The Centaurs weren’t aggressive.

I didn’t want to anger them. They were very fast monsters, after all.

If possible, I wanted to avoid them.

Should I keep going until my 【Summon Magic】 levelled up and I could summon another Fairy?

Well, there were other Summon Monsters I wanted to train too.

It was time to swap out some of my Summon Monsters.

I recalled Ligand and summoned Denier.

The time was around 5 am.

 

「Can you still keep going?」

 

「Of course!」

 

「No problems at all.  I can still keep going.」

 

Wow. I was quite impressed with them.

I wanted to keep going too, I had a feeling Strand was quite far behind my other Summon Monsters.

But as expected, Strand couldn’t contribute to the fighting as much as Ligand could. The difference in their mobility was quite large.

But even then, Strand still took out a good number of Haunted Mists.

A little while after that…

Yep, after just a little while after that…

 

We were ambushed by a group of monsters.

More precisely, a group of Centaurs.

I had only seen small herds in the distance earlier.

But it looked like several herds must have joined forces to take us down.

There were probably about 50 of them.

It was a bit of a hassle, but it was an opportunity to put our own strength to the test too.

Adele, Irina, and me shot out three area-of-effect attack spells, and most of the Centaurs were taken down.

The rest of the Centaurs were taken out by our Summon Monsters.

It was quite easy.

Our victory was so overwhelming that the Archer Centaurs in the distance actually just decided to run away.

Well, whatever.

I didn’t feel like chasing them.

Everything was going quite smoothly.

It looked like Strand wasn’t the only Summon Monster that was growing nicely either.

「Yeah! I’ve already decided what to go for!」

 

Kii-chan’s fur changed colour only a few moments after Adele said that.

Kii-chan’s fur changed from a red into a bright yellow.

Depending on the surrounding brightness, one could call it a golden colour too.

Looked like Adele went for the Golden Fox.

 

「Can I touch him?」

 

「Hmm? Are you finally recognising the true path and worth of the fluffiness?」

 

「No, I just want to use 【Fusion identification】. Is that okay?」

 

「That’s okay…」

 

Adele?

What did you expect from me?

Don’t give me that disappointed look.

I think fluffiness is pretty alright too, you know?

It looked like the Golden Fox wasn’t a Fusion Summon Monster Target.

【Fusion Identification】 really was giving me a lot of headaches.

It wasn’t clear at what stage and with what Summon Monsters I could fuse each Summon Monster.

I didn’t even know how many Summon Monsters were out there that I hadn’t discovered yet.

 

We kept hunting until the time was past 6 am.

It looked like there were no more level-ups for me.

But there were some level-ups for Adele. Namely, her Lion La-chan.

Irina’s Wolf Howl too.

It looked like they both levelled up around the same time.

 

After the level-ups, we decided to go back to the Wind Spirit Village, split the items equally, and then dissolve the Union.

Alright.
