While I was moving through the fields of W3, I realised that Couturier’s agility was definitely her strongest point.
But she had a weakness too.
I tried to get Couturier to fly together with Helix, but at higher altitudes, she was clearly much slower.
Was it the wind current?
The cold might have had something to do with it too.
She didn’t really care about the cold in the cave in the crater though.
Helix could really only fight in very specific conditions, namely, in wide plains during the day.
Couturier was alright in narrow caves, but she was clearly less effective at night.
I should probably put her in the same category as Helix when it came to fighting at night-time.
I found that Couturier was most effective when acting as a scout.
She could easily harass and keep the Raptors at bay without getting hit herself.
One of the Raptors I ended up fighting met its end in a very painful manner.
It was a death by bee venom.
Couturier stung the Raptor over and over again as it was chasing after us, and before I noticed it, its HP bar was already decreasing at an alarming rate.
Suddenly, it simply convulsed and fell over.
My goodness…
It looked almost like snake venom in terms of effectiveness… It definitely wasn’t something I thought I would get to see up close while I was on Zangetsu’s back.
I just thought of it as another option when it came to fighting in the fields.
What about Nias’s new lyre?
The effectiveness of Nias’s new skill was stunning.
She first tried it against the Raptors.
Even without her song, the lyre on its own had quite an amazing effect.
Not to mention her song by itself.
But when both the lyre and her singing were combined, the effects worked together flawlessly.
The Raptors slowly started moving slower.
After some time, they simply fell asleep standing up.
Wow… I didn’t think that was possible.
Aiming for their weak spots became very easy with that.
Hunting the Raptors became very easy.
After that, I prioritised movement again, hoping to find another monster to test Nias’s skills on.
It would be a bit of a waste to Nias’s MP bar to only fight Raptors, Float Eyes, or Enraged Cranes.
I spotted some Fighting Bulls in the distance.
But I could focus on getting myself some meat after I had a solid base. I decided to head to the nearby spring which acted as an Area Portal first.
My lunch consisted of Portable Food and water, which I ate while staying on horseback.
How did hunting go?
It was going well.
I reached W3 at 1:40 pm.
Anyway…
I guess I could start with【Call Monster】.
The herds of Fighting Bulls were as easy as ever to deal with.
In fact, I had a feeling Nias was too strong.
There were no players around me, so I could freely use the Fighting Bulls in my experiments.
I ran around and built up quite a long train of Fighting Bulls.
I had Zangetsu with me, so I was in no danger of getting caught.
Couturier was aggressive and ran about, provoking any nearby Fighting Bulls.
Just a single sting was usually enough to draw a few Fighting Bulls at a time.
Good job, Couturier.
The next step was to lock them all in place and then eliminate all of them.
With both her lyre and her singing, Nias lulled all the Fighting Bulls to sleep.
After that, Helix shot blades of wind at the general direction of all the FIghting Bulls.
I used【Fire Storm】twice, and was surprised to see the result.
Half of them were already dead.
The other half had HP bars quite close to zero.
From there, I could do whatever I wanted.
Couturier also ran about very quickly, taking down Fighting Bulls left and right with her stinger.
The real issue came after all the Fighting Bulls had been taken out.
I had to go through all the effort of collecting the item drops.
I was very grateful for Adele and Irina. They made the process a lot easier.
After I eliminated the third train of Fighting Bulls, I decided to take a short break.
We were taking out the Fighting Bulls with very high efficiency, but we had been going at it for a long time too.
《Summon Monster『Helix』Level Up! 》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》
Helix got a level-up too.
Helix was doing a good job of watching out for any threats and prey from the skies.
Even though Helix was using his Special Skills a lot, his HP bar was still doing well.
But dusk was already starting to approach.
It was about time for a Summon Monster change.
Oops, I had to focus on what was in front of me.
The stat that went up with the level-up was AGI.
I put another point into VIT.
Helix Fighting Falcon Lv4→Lv5(↑1)
DEX 13
AGI 28(↑1)
INT 23
STR 13
VIT 14(↑1)
SPI 15
Skills:

But the info screens weren’t done with me yet.
They kept on coming.
《Summon Monster『Rig』Level Up! 》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》
Yep.
Was it because of how big all the Fighting Bull herds that we took out were?
I felt like it had been a long time since I got multiple level-ups at once.
Oops, my thoughts were starting to go places again.
The stat that went up with the level-up was VIT.
I put another point into INT.
Rig Yellow Pudding Lv3→Lv4(↑ 1)
DEX 18
AGI 10
INT 8(↑1)
STR 8
VIT 11(↑1)
SPI 8
Skills:

Lightning Attribute Fire Resistance
But even after that, the info screens weren’t finished yet.
What’s this!? It’s been a long while since I’ve seen anything like this!
《Summon Monster『Couturier』Level Up! 》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》
Well, I suppose in Couturier’s case it was kind of expected.
But I was still very surprised, in a good way.
It was close to dusk, so it would be a good opportunity to swap out both Couturier and Helix.
Anyway…
The stat that went up with the level-up was AGI.
I put another point into VIT.
Couturier Giant Bee Lv2→Lv3(↑1)
DEX 17
AGI 27(↑1)
INT 12
STR 4
VIT 8(↑1)
SPI 8
Skills:
Sting Bite Flight Evade Ambush Poison
Anyway…
Maybe I could go at it for a little longer?
We roamed around the fields some more, taking out Carrion Feeders, Fighting Bulls, along with Steppe Lions, but I had a feeling that the frequency at which we were running into them was clearly lower.
I wonder why…
I tried using【Call Monster】to check my surroundings for monsters.
The number of packs of monsters around me was getting smaller.
But I noticed that each pack of monsters was much larger.
Yeah.
That wasn’t a good thing for us…
The misty spring that acted as a Relay Portal had less monsters around, so we changed directions and started heading southward.
There were no Centaurs around us.
Anyway…
I guess I could aim for the S1W3 map?
In the Wide Area Map, we were to the south of the W3 map.
But we were still far away from the S1W3 map.
The sun was about to set too.
It was just about time to eat dinner, so I used【Instant Portal】.
I could take the opportunity to rearrange my Summon Monster team.
Naturally, I summoned Bunraku to make us food.
I also summoned Obsidian, Goki, Tigris, and Heather.
What monsters were waiting for me in the W3 map at night?
I actually wasn’t too sure… Had I even experienced it before?
Well, it would probably work out somehow.
My fighting power wasn’t that bad either.
The dish Bunraku made us consisted of small blocks of braised Fighting Bull Thigh Meat in a soup of sorts.
Yep. I had plenty of meat, after all.
I didn’t get any sirloin.
But the stew Bunraku made us was still very delicious.
Heather didn’t seem to like it very much, but Obsidian and Tigris devoured it.
Not the stew, but the raw meat, to be exact.
My surroundings were already completely dark.
Anyway…
Let’s head to the south.
My goal was to reach the boundary with the S1W3 map before logging out.
It seemed like a worthy goal.
For the time being, I looked around to check what monster would be my main opponent in W3 at night.
I could only see a few packs of Centaurs and Steppe Lions when I used【Call Monster】.
Was there anything else?
No, but even if【Call Monster】wasn’t showing me anything, I still had to be alert. Just about anything could be hiding in the darkness.
