I logged in at 6:50 AM.
Well I did stay up quite late the night before.
~o~O~o~
「Ah! There you are!」
「Good morning.」
It was Adele and Irina. They spotted me right as I finished packing up my tent.
It looked like they were already up to something. Their MP bars were at 70%.
「Your MP bars seem quite low, considering it’s still morning…」
「Irina and me went and did some hunting together before sunrise!」
「It was very tough, but we got some nice items and experience out of it, so that’s okay.」
Yep, that made a lot of sense.
The two of them were already at Job Level 14.
「Hmm… Nicely done. It looks like you guys levelled up too.」
「Yes. We got ourselves new Summon Monsters.」
「My new companion is the Bat Ko-chan!」
「I got myself a Skeleton. I named him Schiller.」
「Hmm… I see, nicely done.」
The sun had already risen.
They probably recalled those Summon Monsters long before they ran into me.
~o~O~o~
「The other Summoners went to do some night hunting too. They’re probably still at it, in their own Unions.」
「For the time being, none of us have died!」
「Yeah, that’s strange… I know it’s only temporary, but only Summoners have been in this Area Portal.」
「No, looks like that’s about to change too.」
I ate breakfast with Adele and Irina while we continued chatting.
Some of the other parties that went out for some night hunting were starting to return one by one.
Did they walk all around N1W3 without horses?
That’s very impressive!
「Hmm… I’m thinking of setting up another Summoner Corps meeting.」
「I think I can guess why… Keith, you’re thinking of moving again, aren’t you?」
「He’s just inviting us all to follow, is all!」
「The scale is definitely going to be different, but I heard more Majin were spotted somewhere near here.」
「Ah, so you’re aiming for Bonus Points!」
Hey, hey, Adele! As straightforward as ever, this girl…
Wait, no, that was wrong of me.
That was exactly what I was looking for.
Haruna and Konohana came to my side.
I wonder what they had in mind…?
「Keith, can we talk to you about something?」
「If you’re going to go hunt down some Majin, could we come with you?」
「Together with all the Summoners here?」
「Yes. Is that alright?」
「We can work together quite well, I think.」
「And just being honest, it’s pretty fun fighting together with you Keith.」
「Hmm… I see.」
It wasn’t a bad idea.
I wasn’t particularly against it either.
I certainly wasn’t used to doing these things in big groups, that’s all.
But in the past few days, there have been few things troubling me in our time together.
In fact, I was enjoying it quite a lot too.
「Where are you planning on going, anyway?」
「I was mainly thinking of heading south…」
「In that case, we’re going to have to pass through the cave to the south of Remut, huh… I think we’ll be able to make it though.」
「What about the Majin to the north or the east? Why don’t we tackle those?」
「Yeah, why don’t we?」
「Hmm, good point, the north is already quite full of players though.」
「Yeah, and the east is going to be quite tough, considering we’re not very well-equipped to fight at sea.」
Is that so?.
It’s always best to head toward trouble..
The earnings are better, too..
「It’s going to take quite a while to reach the place though. Are you alright with that?」
「Well, I’m still on holiday in the real world, so I don’t mind.」
「Let’s go challenge some Majin together!」
Yeah. That would be very nice.
Well, as long as they were free, I would be glad to hang out for longer.
「We’ll go with you.」
「Really? Is it really okay?」
「Well, I do have a lot of time anyway.」
「Summoner Corps are once again departing!」
Corps?
It’s a dangerous sounding name!
~o~O~o~
When I finished eating my breakfast, I summoned my Summon Monster for the team.
Of course, it was a team focusing on mobility.
Volff, Zangetsu, Helix, Rig, and Nias.
All of the Summoners coming with us summoned similar teams.
But there were some Summoners I was especially interested in. I was interested in, more specifically, their Summon Monster teams.
Konohana.
Along with Suruga and Nonomura.
Of course, they were riding on their horses, but they were carrying another rider behind them.
Their Mermaids were riding together with them.
Each Mermaid was sitting on a saddle made of a Slime
Wait… That wasn’t all.
There were a lot of Class Changed Summon Monsters around me.
I could immediately recognise one White Horse, two Battle Horses, and many more.
There were a lot of Wood Owls too.
Not just that, it seemed like the total number of Summon Monsters in our company was higher too.
It was probably because there were more players reaching Level 10 and getting to have four simultaneous Summon Monsters.
There are still a few players who could only summon three Summon Monsters at once, but I was sure they were all about to reach Level 10 too.
We were actually going to become a proper army!
The time was 7:30 AM.
After forming one big Union, we left the Plains of Oblivion.
「Well then, let’s go!」
『All forces, depart!』
At Adele’s signal, all the horses started running southward at once.
We were first aiming for the Area Portal of the W3 map. It would be good to make a small pit stop.
It would be nice if we could reach the place in the afternoon.
The sound of Mermaids singing echoed around us.
I got Nias to sing along to the song.
It sounded like they were singing a round canon.
In any case, it was very nice to listen to.
It was very pleasant to the ear, but it was also a song that inspired everyone to keep marching onward.
While we ran, I made sure to regularly use strengthening spells, to make sure their effects didn’t run out.
Just galloping through the fields felt very nice.
It was a very pleasant rhythm.
The weather was nice too.
There were some scenes that were quite brutal, owing to the battle from a few days ago, but I didn’t mind.
~o~O~o~
Eventually, we managed to reach the Spring of Mist, the W3 Area Portal, before noon.
Aren’t horses just the best?
Their legs were definitely their most fearful weapon.
And it wasn’t just their speed that was amazing either. Their toughness was something to admire too.
I felt like I should definitely sit down and thank Zangetsu once in a while.
Of course, each Summoner was being strengthened by support spells.
I was very sure that played a big part in why we arrived in W3 so quickly, but it was still quite surprising.
Monsters?
We cleared them in passing, so?
Of course, when we reached the Area Portal, we temporarily dissolved our Union for a short lunch break.
Some of the Summoners took a moment to log out too.
「With all the Summoners in one Union, we really do look like a cavalry division in an army, huh.」
「From the distance, you guys look more like an army of monsters.」
「You may be right, actually.」
I stopped by Fiona’s place and sold some items.
It would have been nice to make some new equipment with the Ghost Horse Skins I got.
But in the Spring of Mist, the equipment was not as advanced as in the Wind Spirit Village.
I requested she place a commission with Saki.
I have faith in Saki, who I’ve hired before.
I was also expecting our march to take a long time after the stop at the Spring of Mist, and so I decided to sell as much as possible while I could.
The Ghost Horse Meat seemed alright to save, so I left a few for myself.
I sold off most of my items, though.
Thanks to Fiona I made a good profit.
