I continued my march towards the center of the S4W1 map without changing the members of my current team.
After a bit of walking without anything interesting happening, I could see a suspicious-looking structure looming in the distance.
It looks to be a fountain.
And it comes with its own pond!
Or is it perhaps a lake?
That was clearly a sign that I was getting closer to the Area Portal.
Moreover, it seems that is has not been activated yet.
Around the entire lake there was not a single player to be seen.
And there was no signs that anyone has recently made a camp here either.
Even so, we should proceed carefully.
Getting off of Zangetsu’s back, I decided to make small adjustments to my current party.
I was a little worried, but for now let’s return both Zangetsu and Rig.
I will summon Senki and Shishiko in their place.
Then I proceeded to strengthen everyone with another batch of spells, as well as scanning the area around me with Sense Magic.
Well then, what am I waiting for?
I have no idea what I should expect, and it’s making me positively nervous.

Okay, alright, timeout! I have to change!
This dude has emerged directly from the lake.
Did I mention that it is huge? Cause I don’t think I did!
It is comparable in size to Sphinx and Spinx!
And its tail is also really long!

Of course, I won’t allow the enemy’s size to discourage me from fighting it.
But how should I go about fighting it, exactly?
For now, let’s try my standard procedure, the one that always tends to be getting the best results.

It immediately fell into a hole which appeared directly under it.
Judging by its silhouette alone, it is slimmer than the previous dinosaurs I have encountered on my way here.
Except that its bigger than them, and it has that characteristic fin on its back.
As I observed the hole from the side, its tips were even reaching slightly above it.
And the tail was outright protruding outside!
Just how long is that thing?!
And to make matters worse, it is trying to do exactly what I was afraid it would try to do.
It was trying to get out by using its muscular hind legs as a support.
I mean, I knew it was going to try it, but I didn’t expect it was going to be that fast!
Looks like I made the hole too shallow after all.
Volff and Senki make their moves.
Helix also swoops in from the sky.
Naias also hits the dinosaur with a myriad of her water arrows, one after another.
But this enemy is like a walking fortress.
It was losing its HP at an extremely slow pace.
Could we be the ones in trouble here?
[Whirlwind!]
I shot my spell at it from close range.
But it was still not enough.
Senki finally reached it and grabbed onto one of its rear legs and proceeded to pound it with his fist.
Volff came in front of it and kept it occupied with its nimble movements.
From a small distance away, Shishiko helped them with his breath attack.
With their combined efforts, they managed to send this dinosaur back to the bottom of the hole.
But this is a strategy that we simply cannot continue.
In just a short while Senki has already lost 20% of his total HP.
To buy us some time, I launched another spell at it to keep if from trying to get back out.
What should I do?
This is so frustrating!
The most obvious target are its legs.
If only I could do something to break them.
The question is: how?
For now, let’s try using that.
I got my 《Item Box》 and took something out of it.
The Snow Beast’s Mace.
I know. I know.
I realize how stupid what I’m about to do is and how much risk it brings to the table.
That weapon does not leave me much space for maneuvering, but if I just manage to score a solid hit, then the damage should be tremendous.
Not to mention that I won’t be the only one attacking it.
My monsters shall join me as well.
Together, we must try our best to bring this bastard down.

A small marker appeared above the dinosaur’s head.
Alright, so far so good.
All that is left now is to hit it as hard as we can!
I got close and whacked the fucker solid behind its knee, but it was still not enough to break its bones.
Nevertheless, we managed to drive it back at the bottom of the hole again, so I think we can call that strategy a success.
Helix also did something amazing.
Using his wind blades, he managed to partially blind it, destroying one of its eyes.
If only we continue doing what we are doing, we might just be able to pull it off.
We just have to be careful not to get caught in the monstrous rampage.
The damage I suffered was approximately 20% of my HP.
A few of its tail lashed reached me, and let me tell you they hurt like a motherfucker, even they only so much as grazed my arm.
[Offense Fall!]
We might be having another long battle ahead of ourselves!
Just you watch!
Even if it takes time, I will defeat this guy!
Damn it, how much time has passed now?
I don’t know for sure, but it was certainly enough for me to be forced to use Pitfall for the third time in a single battle.
Thankfully, before the spell’s effects expired, the Spinosaurus has stopped moving.
I don’t want to jinx it, but I think that now it should be dead for sure.
Yup.
When I moved closer to the hole in the ground, I confirmed that it was now completely motionless.
And yet, despite seeing it with my own eyes, it was still hard for me to believe.

But I don’t want it to indicate that the battle was going to continue.

With how much damage we all sustained in that previous one, we absolutely wouldn’t survived another encounter like that.
