Chapter 232 Part 4
Using Monster Fusion, Adel has fused two new monsters for herself.
O-chan the Black Wolf and Kuro-chan the Orthros.
As usual, her naming sense continues to elude me.
And then she just went and created another one!
A combination of an additionally summoned Bat and a Fairy.
The two of them were combined to create an Imp, which was promptly named I-chan.
As for her other two Summoned Monsters, she chose to go with Ku-chan the Bat and Vi-chan the Viper for the time being.
Man, those names sure give off an intense aura of originality, am I right?
What about Irina?
Apparently she has already fused two monsters on her own.
She used her Venom Python Toguro, and Mike the Forest Tiger to create herself a Nue.
The newly created Nue has been named Night Howl.
Or are you supposed to read it as Yagou, as it implies from the kanji the name was written in?
No, considering how Irina calls her Summoned Monsters it is probably Night Howl.
In addition to that, she also fused together Black Wing the Bat with an additionally Summoned Fairy.
The resulting Imp has been dubbed Night Wing by her.
Hmm, an interesting choice, if I do say so myself.
The fact that she chose the same type of monster as Adel was something that I certainly did not expect.
She also had her Bat, Soundless and Spot, the Viper.
I had permission from both of them to take a look at the status screen of their monsters.
Let’s take a look at that Orthros and Nue.
It is more or less like this.

Man that AGI stat looks amazing!
It’s even better than Volff’s.
Looks like this one is definitely going to be speed oriented.
It also has a Breath attack and two attributes.
Those might be pretty handy during exploration and random encounters with monsters.
Overall, that monster seems pretty solid.

So I guess this can be called a Lighting Attribute version of a chimera, wouldn’t you all agree?
Both it’s status and abilities are really similar to those of a Lion.
A trait that can be classified as common for all of the species of both Orthroses and Chimeras.
But there is one thing that’s really bugging me. What in the goddamn hell is Predatory Fusion?
I mean, I know that wild carnivorous beasts devour other beasts in order to survive, that much is true for both the virtual world and the real one, but this?
Maybe it’s something related to normal predation, but different in some way?
I really want to know the answer to this question right here, right now, but being an annoying nagger will do me more harm than good, so I guess I best drop the subject for now and not pursue it any further.
Besides, I have a feeling that if I wait long enough, I will eventually get the answers that I’m looking for.

「I’m gonna Log Out as well. Good luck to the rest of you, and thank you for today, I had so much fun!」

Nodding approvingly to Adel and Irina’s requests to Log Out, I decided that it would be best to call it a day here.
We already went farther as a team than I have initially expected
And I also understand how both of them feel.
After all, not everyone is as big of a maniac as I am, playing throughout most of the day.
Seeing them Log Out, Haruna, Konohana and Hyodor-kun decided to do the same and also call it quits for today.

Pffft, do you even have to ask?
Of course I’m not going to Log Out just yet.
I will wait for all of them to come back by exercising my tried and true method: killing time by doing some excavating around the ancient stone pillars sticking out of the ground in the desert.
After a while, Adel, Irina and the others have finally come back.
Naturally, both of them wanted to take their new monsters for a test drive.
That is something that you’ll never hear me complaining about.
I always welcome such initiatives with open arms.
Now then.
Which teams are we going to use?
My lineup stayed the same as before: Volff, Zangetsu, Helix, Heather and Gengetsu.
Hyodor-kun is using a Horse, Hawk, Wolf and an Owl.
Haruna’s and Konohana’s team are the same as when they were previously Logging Out.
As for Adel and Irina, they both placed their newest monsters into the teams they have come up with before.
From the perspective of the whole Union, this means that we now have 3 more monsters at our disposal.
But even with our increased numbers, we’d still have to thread carefully.
After all, bigger does not always equal better, as they say.
Our first enemy was a Lv.2 Spinx.
Ah, perfect timing.
Just in time for us to see how big will the increase in our Party’s firepower will be.
Orthros’s breath attack and Nue’s lightning strike are certainly powerful.
However, their basic abilities are much more reliable than that.
Actually, those attacks were unnecessary to even win us the battle.
The speed is Orthros’s main feature.
It has high attack value coupled with well-balanced maneuverability.
I feel like that’s almost too much.
It was good that Adel and Irina managed to have the Class Change before we reached the Area Portal.
Really good.
We move while hunting Sphinxes, Mommies and Killer Scorpions.
Of course, the destination is the Area Portal.
I can see the river from a distance.
It continued to flow down over a steep hill.
There is a temple there.
I feel like I saw it somewhere before.
I was able to see the passage, sandwiched between sculptures like standing walls.
Apparently, that point seems to be an Area Portal.
Of course, there is no sign of players around.
I think that it has not been released yet.
「OK. Let’s have dinner here.」
「So we’re going to activate this map’s Area Portal after dinner, right? 」
「Maybe. What’s the current time? Are you guys okay with it」
「I’m fine! 」
「We also have time to spare.」

Haruna and Konohana showed their approval by giving me a thumbs up.

「Yeah. You can leave the cooking to us this time!」

And so we all enjoyed a dinner of homemade cooking prepared by Adel and Irina.
Man, they really can whip up some tasty grub!
After everyone was done and Logged Out, I have returned to excavating the ancient stone pillars.
It might be dull as heck, but for me, that is the most effective way to pass the time.
