Chapter 253 Part 1

I logged in.
What was my plan for the day?
No real change from the day before.

But even so, the day before was quite amazing.
It felt like I was on a roll, and I couldn’t stop myself… Well, that could be taken in a negative light as well.
For a while now, I had been training myself against the Twelve Heavenly Generals to get myself some experience points and level-ups.
I wanted to try taking on a stronger enemy.
But at the same time, I wanted to avoid putting my weaker Summon Monsters in danger.
It was a bit of a contradiction.
I had to make a compromise somewhere, and match my Summon Monster team to properly fight the enemies I would fight.

Hmm, it was about time…
It would be good to go back and fight the Sphinx and Spinks.
I had a lot of experience fighting them together in a big Union, but even if it were just me and my Summon Monsters, I had a feeling it would work well.
I had a procedure of sorts outlined in my mind.
Yep…
That would be my next course of action after getting my equipment from the Wind Spirit Village.

In any case, what was my Cintamani Stone looking like?
I took a look at it, but it didn’t look too different from when I logged out the night before.
I was about to put it back in my pocket, when suddenly, a Magic Stone popped out of it.
It was a very strange sight, almost like…
A pregnant animal giving birth.
It was a bit unscrupulous, but I laughed at the thought of that.

Well then.
First off, I summoned Bunraku and got him to prepare breakfast.
In the meantime, I thought a bit about my other Summon Monsters.
I summoned Volff, Shishiku, Ninetails, and Fang.
In other words, I stuck with my Summon Monster team from the night before.
After that, I tried to work on excavating my Ancient Stone Pillar.
The process was still in its earlier stages, so I wasn’t hoping to finish or anything like that.
But it would be very nice to get some more Petrified Wood somewhere down the line.
While thinking of that, I continued working.
What was actually buried inside the Ancient Stone Pillar?
I was looking forward to finding out.

The time was 6:50 am.
That morning was a slightly slower start than usual for me.
Until noon, I was planning on continuing my fights against the Twelve Heavenly Generals.
It would be good to earn some more experience points before heading off to the Wind Spirit Village.
Which one would be good to challenge…
Yep…
So far, through fighting the Twelve Heavenly Generals over and over again, I was managing to get a good number of their weapons as item drops.
Factoring in the possibility of weapon item drops was definitely very important for deciding which Heavenly General I wanted to fight first.
For the time being, I wanted to avoid fighting other sword-users or lance-users.
I had enough of those already… I wanted to choose an enemy that was more likely to get me some more experience points…

Well, thinking of experience points, the Dragon Puppy was definitely going to be the best choice.
Of course, I was well aware of the risks.
There was even the possibility of the Dragon Puppy getting a Class Change.
But… There was more to it than that.
I knew that eventually, I would have to fight a Class Changed Dragon Puppy anyway. It wouldn’t hurt trying that out a little earlier.

General Haira Lv.5
Heavenly General Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Ground Tree Attribute Dust Resistance

Dragon Puppy Lv.4
Monster Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Ground Fire Attribute Lava Attribute Breath

I guess the first fight would be on the lighter side…?
Well, it wasn’t very light in any way…
My opponent was still a Dragon Puppy, even if it was at Level 4.
I gripped my Tonfa and Vajra Sword, and kept my Black Rope close by. I was planning on using those three weapons to take down the Dragon Puppy.
I set my Vajra Sword to Dust Magic.
It was time to get down and dirty with some serious fighting.

I wanted to go a little more aggressive than the day before.
It felt like that would be nice.
In anycase, what about the General Bikara?
I left the General Bikara to my Summon Monsters.
But I gave them different instructions to the instructions I usually gave them.

In short, “Take down the General Bikara as soon as possible, and then attack the Dragon Puppy!” were my instructions.
I wanted to treat the first fights seriously.
I wanted to use my full strength to improve my hunting efficiency.
But I had to be careful as well… After all, those who give no mercy receive no mercy.

《Summon Monster『Fang』Level Up!》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》

It took me about seven or eight fights of those info screens to show.
Fang was just one step closer to his Class Change.
It was almost too bizarre, even for my own tastes!
The rate at which Fang was growing was way too fast.
It was almost like I was using some kind of growth-enhancing substance on him.

The stat that went up with Fang’s level-up was AGI.
I put another point into STR.

Fang Wolf Lv6→Lv7(↑1)
DEX 12
AGI 28(↑1)
INT 12
STR 14(↑ 1)
VIT 16
SPI 12

Skills:
Bite Evade Threaten Listen Sense Danger Pursuit

Of course, I was planning on continuing the pace at which I was going.
But even if I kept at the same fast pace, I had a feeling that I wouldn’t be able to get Fang’s Class Change by noon.
But nevertheless, I still wanted to gather as many experience points as possible.
After a while, I noticed that my Summon Monsters were looking a lot more exhausted than usual.
I’ll be sure to give them some meat later…

Ah, although I suppose Shishiku didn’t need me to give him any meat.
I really didn’t expect Shishiku to start devouring the Dragon Puppy while it was still struggling on the ground.
The blood near Shishiku’s mouth never dried up during our series of battles.
The goat’s head coming out of Shishiku’s neck looked fine though.

Soon enough, I managed to get lucky with the item drops.
I got myself another Xiuyaojing Bow.
I already had one spare, but in no time, I managed to pick up so many of them that my one spare grew into three.
I wasn’t particularly looking for another spare either…
But oh well, that was fine.
I knew a lot of other players who used bows as their main weapons, so I could always sell these off to them.
It wouldn’t hurt to get some more spares either.

Anyway, about the Dragon Puppy…
After a while, I had to deal with a Level 7 Dragon Puppy.
It was definitely much stronger than a Level 6.
But it was quite difficult for me to figure out exactly how much stronger.
But one thing stood out to me. I realised it when I was using Gravity Prison on the Dragon Puppy.
It was very strong.
There was certainly a big difference to the Level 6 Dragon Puppy.
But as soon as my Summon Monsters got involved in the fight, the Dragon Puppy went down as easily as it always did.
Yep, that was a very solid strategy…
The Dragon Puppy was a tough enemy, but if I could overwhelm it with superior numbers, it would go down quite easily.
I honestly wanted to fight and take it down by myself, but I didn’t have that luxury.

《【Sword】Level Up!》
《【Dust Magic】Level Up!
《You have acquired the【Dust Magic】spell【Instant Simoon】!》
《Summon Monster『Bunraku』Level Up!》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》

The time was 9:20 am.
Bunraku got his level-up first.
I took a good look at Bunraku.
Quite terrifyingly, Bunraku had taken no damage whatsoever in the battles.
Or perhaps Bunraku had taken some damage, but recovered it all using his Self-repair skill.
Thinking about it some more, it was actually not that big of a surprise, since Bunraku was fighting with his bow from a distance.
Considering that Bunraku was in the rear, taking little to no damage was probably to be expected.

The stat that went up with the level-up was INT.
I put another point into AGI.

Bunraku Metalskin Lv4→Lv5(↑1)
DEX 30
AGI 12(↑1)
INT 22(↑1)
STR 14
VIT 14
SPI 14

Skills:
Two-handed Spear Bow Cooking Magic Resistance [Slight] Self-Repair [Small]

It was a good time to recall Bunraku.
I summoned Taihaku.
My ambitions were endless.
While I still had the time to do so, I wanted to do my best to keep fighting to train my Summon Monsters.
Time to get all my Summon Monsters their Class Changes!
