Chapter 253 Part 2
In any case, the Xiuyaojing Bows just wouldn’t stop coming.
I managed to pick up one more of them.
If only the rate at which the Twelve Heavenly Generals dropped their weapons was this good the day before…
Maybe 【Disassembly】 was working a little too well.
In any case, the level-up got me a new spell to play with.
Apparently, Instant Simoon, like Magma Field, seemed to be a spell that had a good area of effect.
The spell worked by filling an area with hot air, reducing the attack power of monsters in the area, and at the same time causing continuous damage.
It sounded interesting, but I didn’t really want to test it right then and there.
General Bikara had the Dust Resistance skill after all.
Knowing that the area-of-effect spell would be resisted by one of the two available enemy targets made it quite weak as a spell.
What time was it?
I didn’t have the time to check.
My line of sight was focused on the new enemy in front of me.
Heavenly General Bikara Lv.1
Heavenly General Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Ground Tree Attribute Earth Attribute Water Attribute Dust Resistance
Lesser Dragon Lv.1
Monster Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Ground, Air Fire Attribute Earth Attribute Lava Attribute Breath
Wow, both the General Bikara and the Dragon Puppy got a Class Change at the same time.
That was quite the surprise…
「True Practiced Spirit!」 「 Bless!」「 Meditate!」
I selected and started casting a spell as soon as I finished using those martial art skills.
It wasn’t a situation where I could relax.
Nope, I would have to give this one my all.
I deployed a blade of ice from the handle of my Vajra Sword.
I had already set the blade of my Vajra Sword to Ice Magic, after all.
I didn’t think that Ice Magic would come in so handy, but it was fortunate that I happened to have it on hand.
I had a feeling that the Ice Attribute would work quite well against the Lesser Dragon and the Heavenly General Bikara.
Although to be honest, I would rather have another Petrified Wood Staff.
What was fighting the Lesser Dragon like?
The first thing I noticed was that it was big.
It was a lot bigger than the Dragon Puppies I was used to fighting.
It was definitely comparable to a megalosaurus, but it appeared a lot bigger because of the Lesser Dragon’s wings.
There was a lot of space in the hall, but the hall still started to feel rather cramped.
Calm Down! It’s no use panicking!
I was fighting an opponent that was much bigger than I was, but it wasn’t my first time.
I made it through past battles, and I would make it through this one as well.
I could definitely be a lot more bold and still make it out alive.
Confidence would let me score the win.
「Dimension Mirror!」
The timing of the Lesser Dragon’s fire breath attacks were easy to understand.
It was an attack pattern that was no different to a Dragon Puppy.
The only difference was the angle at which the fire came at me. It was a lot bigger than a Dragon Puppy, so that was to be expected.
Although the power of the fire breath attack was not something to be underestimated.
The fire breath attack that I reflected using Dimension Mirror burnt up even the Heavenly General Bikara.
I didn’t have the time to check how much damage the fire did.
I had to use the opportunity to charge in for an attack.
I drove the Ice Magic blade of my Vajra Sword into the Lesser Dragon.
And right after that, I used another spell.
「Gravity Prison!」
Unfortunately, the Heavenly General Bikara wasn’t anywhere in my vision.
I was hoping to get both the Heavenly General Bikara along with the Lesser Dragon with Gravity Prison, but it looked like that was going to be impossible.
But I didn’t have the time to kick myself for that.
The Lesser Dragon didn’t only have its fire breath as its weapon.
It tried to snap its fearsome jaw at me, and it was good and all that I could dodge that attack, but then it kicked at me with its big legs.
As soon as that failed, the Lesser Dragon spun its arms around and swung its tail at me.
It was capable of using its entire body as a weapon.
If Gravity Prison didn’t work, I would have been in serious trouble.
I was thinking about using my Black Rope at first, but…
No, opportunities to do so never came.
No, it was just too big for me to secure a position behind its neck.
I could still intercept the bites using my Vajra Sword, but part of that was because Gravity Prison was still active… Would I be able to keep it up even afterwards?
To be honest, I was a bit worried.
「Pitfall!」
I meant to guide the Lesser Dragon into the pitfall and have it fall in.
But… It wasn’t that simple.
It started flapping its wings and took flight a low height above the floor of the hall.
In the beginning, the Lesser Dragon spread its wings with all its might to prevent it from falling further into the pitfall, and that seemed to do the trick quite well.
It didn’t even reach the bottom of the pit.
Was it a bit of a misfire on my part?
Maybe Pitfall wasn’t such an effective spell against the Lesser Dragon.
But in any case, it was a good opportunity for me.
The Lesser Dragon’s head ended up straight in front of me.
How did I respond to the situation?
In the beginning, I was rather lost as to what to do.
But my body moved on its own anyway.
I jumped on the back of the Lesser Dragon, right between its two wings.
I took the opportunity to stab my Vajra Sword into the base of one of the Lesser Dragon’s wings.
Damn it!
The Lesser Dragon’s skin was very tough to pierce through!
「Pulse Laser Burst!」
It was time for a change of plans.
I slashed my Vajra Sword at one of the Lesser Dragon’s wings, and immediately used a spell from close range.
Ooh!
The bullets of light rained down on the wings of the Lesser Dragon, and it looked like it was about to melt right before my eyes.
In the dazzling light, I could only barely notice that the Lesser Dragon was about to hit the bottom of the pit.
It was going to get a lot more difficult to move around.
But was that perhaps a good thing for me?
But… It wasn’t that simple.
After a short pause, the Lesser Dragon used its fire breath attack from within the pit.
It wasn’t a direct hit.
But still, it was very hot.
That was where my Black Rope could finally come into play.
I hooked the rope around the horn-like protrusion on the Lesser Dragon’s head, and pulled hard.
But when I pulled, all that I did was give the Lesser Dragon an opportunity to drag me closer to it.
While trying my best to stay on top of its head, I shifted around, using its head like a saddle.
What was I trying to do?
Of course, I was aiming for its eye.
My Vajra Sword was heading straight into its eyeballs!
I was sure that my blade of ice managed to pierce all the way to the back of its eyeballs.
But even that was only enough to make the Lesser Dragon’s HP bar drop to half.
What a strong monster…
But soon, there were some reinforcements to help me fight in the pitfall.
It was Shishiku.
Volff came along as well.
Bullets of light and streaks of darkness flooded into the pitfall.
「Guaaa!」
「Graaa!」
「Grawww!」
I didn’t know which growls belonged to the Lesser Dragon, Shishiku, or Volff anymore.
It was all happening inside of a pitfall after all. The walls made for a lot of echo.
My ears were starting to hurt.
Over and over again, I pulled out my Vajra Sword and stabbed the blade of ice into the Lesser Dragon’s eyes.
Over and over again…
Over and over again…
My ears were really starting to hurt…
I made a mental note never to use a pitfall again to fight a Lesser Dragon in the future.
I didn’t want to use this strategy ever again, even if I could take down a Lesser Dragon with it.
Thanks for the treat.
