Chapter 269 Part 2
The fact that the notifications came should mean that we won.
Victory confirmed.
But there is no joy.
I had predicted it, but there are no items left over.
And there are no level ups.
I’m not happy.
Is this really a relay portal?
I guess so.
If you check on the wide area map, the name is not displayed, but it does indicate that there’s a site.
With Sense Magic placed on my eyes, there was a reaction to some of the surrounding rocks.
A pattern on the surface.
No, is it a combination of magic circles and magic squares?
Eight in total.
Is that it?
That I can challenge something by touching them, is what I’d expect.
Shall we touch the closest one to try it out?
《Would you like to challenge the Haagenti Guard? 》
《Yes》 《No》
Just as I thought.
And what’s beyond the gate remaining in the megalith?
Probably a cave.
I open it to take a peek and Oh how mysterious.
I can’t see anything but stairs.
The surroundings look like a black and white sandstorm.
What’s the end of the stairs?
I can’t see.
I do have an appointment.
Even so, there’s also the urge to explore here.
Let’s compromise.
For now should I log out at this Relay Portal?
Let’s recall all the summoned monsters.
I logged out.
Well, I come back pretty soon but.
The time is still 7:40 am.
I want to reach the Area Portal of the S3W3 map in the morning.
From there, let’s move north.
It would be great if we could hurry into the S2W3 map in the evening.
I summon Volff, Zangetsu, Helix, Oma, and Kyokuya again.
After completing all the enhancement spells, we make for the west.
There’s no doubt that something other than the Lesser Demon is around.
What’s there?
Foras Guard Lv.3
Apostle Enemy Target Active
??? ???
Foras Slave Lv.4
Apostle Enemy Target Active
??? ???
This formation again!
It’s these guys.
There’s a certain characteristic in common with the Deva Kings.
It’s the body.
Their trained bodies are exposed generously.
All they wear is a loincloth on a waistband.
To put it bluntly, where’d the bodybuilders come from!
It makes me want to spit out that line, that does.
Everyone’s head is bald.
And, well, that.
They’re smiling nicely.
They’re not in any particular pose, but if they started at any time it wouldn’t be strange.
And I have a problem.
My heart aches.
Isn’t it a good opponent for close combat, especially slugfests?
ooo.
I want to get off Zangetsu and take on the challenge.
Be patient.
We’re prioritizing movement.
Let’s get rid of these guys and hurry on.
Do they have any abnormal conditions?
I don’t get that vibe.
There’s one Foras Guard and four Foras Slaves.
They don’t seem to have any outstanding weapons.
Brass knuckles on the fist?
It seems to be a completely hit-oriented combat style.
However.
These guys are already leaping into action.
It’s a completely hand-to-hand style.
They hit and kick Volff, Oma, and even Kyokuya, and try to throw them away to finish it off.
Their movements themselves are also fast.
There’s no pause.
It aches.
It’s aching.
When I’m done with my errands I want to fight here.
My mood has gotten better.
In addition to that, you know.
They were tough.
After all, they were healing each other.
What teamwork.
For just that reason, I think that fighting mounted on Zangetsu was probably a good match.
The probability of poisoning and paralysis also seemed to be lower.
It seems like it could take a bit but.
There was some damage to our side too, but it’s somehow acceptable.
How nice!
Like I thought, my mood has improved.
I’ll definitely be back once I’ve taken care of things!
This time no items dropped, but even so I still want to fight.
Of course, next time will be a slugfest.
Furcas Guard Lv.2
Apostle Enemy Target Active
??? ???
Furcas Slave Lv.3
Apostle Enemy Target Active
??? ???
Furcas Horse Lv.2
Apostle Enemy Target Active
??? ???
This time it’s cavalry.
No, is it knights?
Four eerie, large horses of creepy hues.
Who rides on them?
Is the one Furcas Guard basically a fully equipped knight?
Are the three Furcas Slave basically accompanying cavalry?
All have spears.
Oh, this might be a little tricky.
That premonition didn’t miss.
With a lineup built for mobility, our striking power is low.
Instead, we excel in mobility and exploration.
Are these guys more than or even to that mobility?
Hard to go against.
Some of the Foras Guard opponents made me ache, but these guys don’t.
That’s why I think I was able to take a cool-headed approach.
Gravity Prison?
It works nicely.
What about Magnetic Force?
It worked interestingly enough.
So what about Magnetic Field?
It worked quite well, but it didn’t work when they went out of range.
That’s only natural.
It was my slip-up.
Offense Fall and Defense Fall.
Delay.
Those work in many ways, but their movement speed doesn’t fall that much.
The horses were quite annoying.
What’s the attack?
They jab with a spear from atop the horses.
That’s it.
That’s all it is.
Taking that on is annoying.
I’ve had some experience fighting monsters that come at me for a horseback fight.
They just focus completely on attacking.
It’s creepy.
Opponents who disregard their own safety make me uncomfortable.
I didn’t have a chance to use pitfall because the timing became difficult.
Since they attack in waves, there’s no chance to catch them all together.
Instead, I use wall spells.
Mainly Fire Wall.
I was able to do quite a lot of damage, and I can leave stopping them to the summons.
These guys were definitely aiming for Zangetsu and me.
Well, that’s convenient for me but.
Helix keeps them in check from the sky.
Sudden twists can be avoided.
After finishing one horse, it became much easier.
I had a lot of free room after I finished off another one.
Seems like I’ll win.
After taking them out one after another, the last thing left was Furcas Guard.
At this point it’s decided.
Having taken my charge, they lie fallen on the ground as they’re surrounded by my summoned monsters.
But a problem was left behind.
The corpses are scattered all over the place and it’s a lotta work to search them for drops!
I took the trouble to check through everyone.
I didn’t get any items.
Return my time!
Well, I guess just because I wasn’t attacked by monsters I’ll call it fine?
After that, there were a small number of attacks by both Foras Guards and Furcas Guards.
What are their items?
Nothing is dropped.
The lesser demons drop things at a nice rate.
However, I haven’t gotten Quality X Evil God’s Eyes yet.
The Evil God’s Eyes haven’t dropped as anything but Quality C.
What was that last night?
I guess even if I worry about it it won’t help anything, huh?
The time is 9:30 am.
I arrived at a suspicious place that seems to be an Area Portal.
A rocky spot in the plains.
Well, it seems that we can manage to fight while riding Zangetsu.
That’s nice.
There’s no sign of players.
The name of the Area Portal is not displayed even when viewed on the wide area map.
It may not have been cleared yet.
Is it okay to keep riding as is?
It’s hard to judge.
I’m a little worried about the rocky area, but the apparent battlefield is quite wide.
It’s really annoying that I don’t know what we’re dealing with!
Let’s challenge as is.
If I just sit here and worry it’ll never start.
Even if we end up dying and responding, we can just say it was a chance to find out what the opponent was.
Let’s stay optimistic here.
By the way, the souls are?
They’re in the center of the rocky area.
Just in case, let’s use Sense Magic as well.
Then.
Should we get closer?
《Dedicate a sacrifice! 》
《Or else dedicate thy life! 》
《Souls are our currency》
《What is the value of thy soul? 》
That’s…
Disturbing, or more like exciting notifications!
A declaration like ‘You’re dead’?
Then I’ll just go all out here without mercy.
Well, I didn’t have any from the beginning but.
Raum Guardian Lv.1
Event Monster Apostle
Enemy Target Active
??? ???
Raum Guard Lv.2
Event Monster Apostle
Enemy Target Active
??? ???
Raum Slave Lv.3
Event Monster Apostle
Enemy Target Active
??? ???
Dangerous.
What is?
Its appearance is crow-like.
Still, half looks like a human.
Its weapon is a bow.
The problem is?
The distance is far.
And the numbers.
One guardian, two guards, plenty of slaves.
There must be at least 20 right?
And then from the sky above the rocks they taunt me.
There’s no voice.
But I can tell.
They’re sneering.
Can we close this distance?
Only Helix.
However, if I let him go, he’ll just get beaten up.
I can’t take that risk.
A rain of arrows from the sky to the ground.
We somehow manage to take advantage of our mobility and continue evading but.
This is terrible.
Eventually we’ll get hit.
On top of that an explosion comes down.
That was repelled by Oma.
But the flames don’t reach them.
At this rate will it be one-sided?
「Gravity Prison!」
It seems that all together half of the slaves were pinned to the ground.
What about the Guardian and Guards?
Still in the sky.
They seem like unpleasant guys.
「Storm Wave!」
Did it work?
It’s working.
There’s not much damage.
But the altitude clearly dropped.
If I can disturb their balance, that’s enough.
I’ll let Helix go across the sky.
I’ll also prepare reinforcements.
「Change Monster!」
Couturier appears in Volff’s place.
He immediately flies after Helix.
You don’t have to beat it.
You can just guide it close to the ground.
As long as Gravity Prison and Storm Wave last we still have a chance to win!
That we knocked all the fliers down to the ground and annihilated them is, well, good.
However, the damage we took was nothing to scoff at.
That’s why my MP bar is also exhausted.
No one has died.
No one has abnormal status.
Still, this feeling of defeat.
When I think about it again, it seems that there was a better plan.
Fly spells should have been used even at a disadvantage.
That’s what I think.
《Will you proceed ahead? 》
《Then dedicate thy blood! 》
《Blood as well is our currency》
《Dye our earth with your blood》
Umm.
The notifications sound like a sore loser.
《S3W3 Map’s Area Portal cleared! 》
《You have gained 7 Bonus Points. You currently have a total of 31 Bonus Points.》
Anyways, there was no level up in that battle.
Well, I think we should be satisfied with the release of the area portal.
It wasn’t a very flashy battle.
However, when I finished it, it’s clear that we struggled quite a bit.
Bow and arrow is scary.
Moreover, the threat from the sky is immeasurable.
I was underestimating it.
Thanks for the treat.
