Chapter 331 Part 2
《【Joust】Level Up!》
《【Identify】Level Up!》
It’s 3:10 PM.
What’s in the border between the N2E12 and N2E13 Maps?
Nothing at all.
But the change in terrain is obvious.
There’s a forest up ahead.
And a fairly deep one at that.
Alright.
What kind of monsters can I find here?
Mystic Eye Lv.3
Demon Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Mid-Air Fire Attribute
Oh?
It looks very similar to Obsidian’s previous form.
But that’s not it.
Isn’t the difficulty level around here too low?
There’s only one of these monsters standing as an opponent.
I managed to defeat it only with my Summoned Monsters, and without using any of their special abilities.
What’s going on here?
I had heard there were strong monsters to the east, but what’s this?
It’s become unexpectedly easy around here.
Initially, I thought it was a village…
But that’s not it.
It’s a fortress.
The same flag as in the one in the royal castle is raised on the watchtower.
It’s probably an Area Portal, but let’s ignore it.
There’s a small road weaving through the clear patches of this forest.
It extends north and south from the fortress.
And also to the east.
Let’s keep heading east from here.
I wonder what kind of strong monsters I’ll find there?
I keep heading east while easily brushing aside every Mystic Eye’s assault.
The forest is becoming somewhat sparse, but an interesting sight is coming into view.
It’s a mountain.
And it’s emitting smoke.
So it’s actually a volcano.
And now I’m entering the N2E14 Map.
I should be seeing a change in monsters in the area soon enough…
Suddenly, I encountered a type of monster I’ve never seen before!
Wyvern Lv.3
Demon Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Mid-Air Fire Attribute Wind Attribute Breath
There’s two of them..
Huh?
I wonder how strong they’re going to be.
I’ll be comparing them with the Snow Wyverns.
So, what’s the verdict?
Oh no.
They’re weaker than Snow Wyverns!
Way weaker!
And what’s up with them not dropping any items?
A single attack by Aotsuki was enough to nearly kill them.
A Snow Wyvern would have endured such an attack to a greater extent.
Could it be…
Perhaps it’s the monsters around Defense Valley who are exceptionally strong?
That’s what it feels like.
And it’s also possible that my standards are wrong.
From a different perspective, both Mystic Eyes and Wyverns could be considered strong monsters.
Should I stop exploring this area for now?
It doesn’t seem I’ll get anything worthwhile for hanging around here.
Perhaps I should take a look around the N2E15 Map?
Venom Python Lv.2
Demon Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Ground Poison
That’s the kind of monster I found there.
It’s still weak by my standards.
I managed to obtain some Venomous Patterned Snake Hide easily.
But it’s disappointing.
Are there no stronger monsters around here?
There’s another fortress at N2E14.
Probably an Area Portal.
After all, it’s in the center of the map.
And this fortress is not only noteworthy for its large size, but also for a certain presence.
Lesser Dragon Lv.8
Demon Battle Position: Ground, Mid-Air On Standby
Fire Attribute Wind Attribute Earth Attribute Lava Attribute Breath
Its marker is yellow.
It’s probably being ridden by a Dragoon or a Dragon Knight.
The dragon seemed to notice me, but ignored me.
Hmm…
Does this mean that the fortress is deploying its forces?
It would make sense if the enemy was a Wyvern.
But, you see…
Hunting those is no fun at all!
I guess I should just go back to Defense Valley.
Venturing too far just to explore doesn’t seem to be the right angle here.
I’m making no progress at all.
Up to Defense Valley, the battles have been going well, but I haven’t been able to obtain any good results after that.
Let’s go back.
Let’s return to Defense Valley.
The time is 5:20 PM.
Maybe I’ll do some hunting with Aotsuki and the others on the N2E12 map, and then I’ll switch to grounded battles after dinner?
I want to return to a world where fighting has a feeling of tension.
Snow Wyverns are good.
And a short while ago, hunting a Lesser Dragon – Dark proved to be quite meaningful, despite being of a lower level.
I’m starting to feel confident that if I prepare in advance, I can finish those off consistently, even if the battle itself is hard.
I’m picking up a good pace.
《Summoned Monster『Ignis』 Level Up!》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》
Of course, there’s a Level Up.
After all, it wouldn’t be fun if things weren’t like this.
Ignis’ INT increased automatically upon leveling up.
Let’s choose STR as his second stat increase.
Ignis Fighting Falcon Lv4 → Lv5 (↑1)
DEX 12
AGI 29
INT 24 (↑1)
STR 13 (↑1)
VIT 13
SPI 14
Skills
Peck Flight Far Sight Wide Area Search Ambush Sense Danger Air Mobility
Wind Attribute
Now then.
What to do after dinner?
Let’s have my ground forces earn some experience points.
Yes, let’s do that.
I deploy the Instant Portal, recall Aotsuki, and summon Bunraku.
Meal time.
I’ve asked Bunraku for a simple meal.
Today has been mostly moving around with very little combat.
So after a quick meal, it’ll be time to get hunting!
With the quick meal out of the way, it’s time to change my lineup.
Let’s go with Jericho, Goki, Ninetails, Yukiwa, and Kurama.
There’s basically no need to explore as we move.
I want to take this opportunity to Level Up both Yukiwa and Kurama.
Twinhead Lv.2
Demon Enemy Target Active
Battle Position: Ground Poison
What?
There’s still an unseen monster on this map?
I encountered these right after defeating the Snow Wyverns.
Where have you been hiding?
What do they look like?
As the name suggests, they’re large snakes with two heads.
Yeah.
But that’s all they look like.
Maybe they’re equivalent to two Venom Pythons combined?
No, even if these had only one head, they’re probably larger than a Venom Python.
And there are nine of them.
Just as expected.
These monsters weren’t just two-headed Venom Pythons.
They spew their poison in a mist.
Really troublesome.
And they move pretty fast as well.
Jericho and Yukiwa are unaffected by poison, so that’s a relief.
Is this a hard fight?
It probably is.
Their poison is troublesome, and they’re also really tough.
While fighting and curing ourselves of poison, something strange happened.
The Twinheads at the rear are under attack.
Are we getting reinforcements?
Dragon Puppy Lv.4
Demon In Battle Battle Poisition: Ground
Fire Attribute Lava Attribute Breath
Dragon Puppy Lv.6
Demon Moving Battle Poisition: Ground
Fire Attribute Lava Attribute Breath
Their markers are yellow.
At least, they don’t seem to be enemies.
So they’re here to help me?
Even though they’re babies, they’re still dragons.
They attack the Twinheads vigorously.
Are they really here to help?
Or have they come to steal my prey?
Their numbers might have decreased, but we were finally able to kill all of the Twinheads.
What about the two Dragon Puppies?
They’re feasting on the corpses.
The lower-level one has its HP bar reduced by about 20%, and it’s also poisoned.
The higher-level one has its HP bar reduced by almost 10%.
Now.
What to do?
They don’t seem to care about us, so as thanks, I’ll cure them from poisoning.
Might as well heal them too.
After all, they did help us by reducing the number of Twinheads.
I also try to get some items from the corpses of the monsters I killed.
But it’s no use.
Nothing will come off.
After trying all six of them, I got no items from them whatsoever.
Was this pointless?
The two Dragon Puppies look at the Twinhead corpse lying at Jericho’s feet.
They are not trying to approach it, probably because they are being wary of Jericho.
Hmm.
It’s fine.
It’s fine, right?
If I can’t get any items from it anyway, I might as well let them have it.
Once Jericho stepped away from the corpse, the two Dragon Puppies began to devour it.
They gobbled it up in no time.
Impressive.
Maybe it’s a good thing that Shishiku, Raibun, and Kyokuya weren’t here for this fight?
They might have started fighting over the food.
By the way…
What’s up with these children?
Well, treating those two Dragon Puppies as children doesn’t feel right.
Judging from Master’s words and the Cloud Dragons’ actions, it seems that the followers of the Golden Red Dragon are still training their young.
I wonder if these two are like that as well?
Let’s check the surroundings with Call Monster.
There are still some Twinheads around here.
However, they are distributed in an extremely uneven manner around the area
The number of Twinheads is probably greater than that of Snow Wyverns.
Will this work?
Probably.
The issue is with the two neutral Dragon Puppies.
They are neither approaching nor keeping their distance.
I see…
Will calling monsters be okay?
I ask this in more than one sense.
What are the odds that our prey will be stolen?
Very high.
It looks like they’ll definitely join our fights.
That suggests that we’ll earn less experience points, but…
Let’s change my perspective here.
We should just go hunting together.
Or should I say, let’s fight while utilizing the power of the Dragon Puppies as well.
That should be okay, right?
《【Dagger】Level Up!》
《【Dual Wield】Level Up!》
《【Poison Resistance】Level Up!》
《Summoned Monster『Kurama』 Level Up!》
《Please add 1 point to a desired stat.》
The time is 7:40 PM.
I’ve been summoning and hunting Twinheads for some time now.
And the Dragon Puppies are still here with me.
Well, that’s fine, isn’t it?
Kurama’s DEX increased automatically upon leveling up.
I’ll choose AGI as his second stat increase.
Kurama Gohou Lv2 → Lv3 (↑1)
DEX 22 (↑1)
AGI 19 (↑1)
INT 10
STR 22
VIT 22
SPI 10
Skills
Sword Dagger Two-handed Spear Buckler Block Evade Hide Night Vision
At any rate, Kurama leveled up very quickly.
Well, that goes to show just how many of these monsters I’ve hunted.
I also tried switching my weapon against these Twinheads.
And, while we were at it, I thought about trying out a new weapon.
It was a makeshift dual-wielding of the Lesser Sword Dragon’s Short Sword and a Petrified Wood tonfa.
Being able to deliver a quick flurry of attacks is the way to go.
And Oma is also dual-wielding a sword and a dagger.
Hey, Oma, you know that you can use your spear too, right?
Follow Goki’s example!
He was dual-wielding a club and an ax.
This is no good.
Is irregular dual-wielding the default now?

Thanks. 🖖
