Summoner is Going c234 – Part 2
Our discussion on the simple idea of the spell Return Home was growing and really starting to heat up.
I understood where they were coming from. It was just a theory for a long time, but there really were some things you could only figure out by experiencing them in person.
And it was overwhelmingly more convenient even than moving at high speeds using a fly spell!
There was no doubt about it.
「Now with that out of the way, we can lock in our course of action, right?」
Yep, there was another pressing issue at hand.
I had to guide them well as we all figured it out together.
「Course of action, huh?」
I suppose we should all start by training【Spacetime Magic】so that we can all use Instant Portal.
「Agreed. Something we do need to desperately attend to…」
「And while working at it, we can do some more exploration too. I doubt there any players who have gone further past this map, after all…」
「Nope! Nobody like that!」
「It wouldn’t really help our situation too much even if there was a player like that…」
「I would be quite surprised if there was.」
「You know anybody strong enough to get past this map?」
Retorts came from all the girls in my party, that is, everyone except Hyodor.
Huh…?
I mean… There might be a player strong enough out there, you know?
「Well, we can start by at least settling for a direction to head in.」
「I have a feeling that heading east is probably going to lead us to the sea…」
「But guessing what we’re going to encounter in the west or south isn’t as easy, huh?」
「I guess we can leave it to you, Keith?」
Hmm?
You guys think that my opinion is okay?
Wait, why were they looking at me with so much expectation in their eyes?
「Well then, I suppose we can start by heading south. Let’s start with a mobility-oriented team.」
Our course of action was set.
Well then.
We dissolved our party, and we all started summoning our own Summon Monsters.
Of course, we built our Summon Monster team prioritising mobility.
In no time we managed to form a company of 6 Summoners and 27 Summon Monsters.
What did my team look like?
My team consisted of Volff, Zangetsu, Helix, a completely-healed Obsidian, and lastly, Gengetsu.
I wanted to let Obsidian take vengeance for his own death.
And about Gengetsu…
I was definitely very interested in his next level-up.
Was it about time for his Class Change?
I had been making him fight against a lot of strong enemies lately, so I was hoping for a level-up quite soon.
The prospect of that Class Change right in front of my eyes motivated me more than anything else.
I was a simple man.
Adele’s team consisted of a White Horse, a Hawk, a Fairy, an Orthros, and an Imp.
Irina’s team consisted of a Battle Hawk, a Battle Horse, a Black Wolf, a Fairy, and an Imp.
Hyodor’s team consisted of a Hawk, a Horse, a Wolf, and a Fairy.
Haruna’s team lineup was a Mystic Eye, a White Horse, a Mermaid, and a Slime.
And finally, Konohana’s team lineup was a Fighting Falcon, a Battle Horse, a Mermaid, and a Slime.
Each of us had a weaker Summon Monster in our team… I guess we all had the same idea of taking the opportunity to level-up some of our weaker Summon Monsters.
There were less monsters during the daytime, and the Spinks and Sphinx weren’t exactly the strongest enemy around too.
With three fairies and three Imps on our team, our fighting style became quite flashy, but I didn’t mind that one bit.
I was definitely a lot more interested in seeing how the four wolves would work together.
I was especially interested in seeing how Volff and Orthros would work together.
Well it looked like they were having no issues.
To my surprise, it kind of looked like the Orthros was following after Volff in a lot of ways.
The Orthros had a large body.
I would probably compare it to the size of a lion-dog.
I wonder if the way Adele decided to raise it was playing a part in its behaviour…
She didn’t strike me as one who would go through the effort of doing something like that. She was quite similar to myself in that regard.
I was sure she was doing a good job though, and at the end of the day, that was all that mattered.
And both Haruna and Konohana had a mermaid and a slime…
They were definitely trying to do something, right?
Even with the weaker Spinks and Sphinx during the day-time, there were times when we all had to get busy defending against attacks.
In light of this, we decided to revert to our strategy from earlier, with some of us focusing on support positions.
Well, all in all, that was a good thing.
It was a blessing to my eyes to see us work so well together.
We continued heading south.
The biggest destruction still came from, as expected…
Those Serquetoire monsters.
And to make matters worse, I couldn’t use Call Monster to call them to us either.
They were sure to be the ones to ambush us every time.
Although having said that, all of us were on horseback anyway.
All our other Summon Monsters were in the sky, and they could easily keep up with the horses on the ground.
When it came to mobility we had no issues at all.
But then again…
If their arrows were to somehow find their mark, we wouldn’t have any way of protecting ourselves.
They were a bit annoying to deal with, but we easily took care of any we met on the road and kept moving.
We managed to get some Magic Stones to show for it too.
I was expecting them to drop their weapons or something else, but I suppose I just had to make do with what I had.
To be fair, they were one of the easiest monsters to deal with.
They were just a little troublesome at times.
What about the Killer Scorpions?
They were hard.
That was why more than anything, I had to be sure to start each battle by using the spell Defence Fall.
The more time I wasted, the more I risked getting hit by a poison attack and falling into an abnormal status condition.
I had to be quite passive when it came to fighting these guys.
What about the mummies?
Well, with the spell Sanctify Undead no matter how many of them there were we would always get the upper hand.
Having said that, they were definitely scary enemies.
Yeah, I just had to do my best.
Speaking of which, what about the Spinks and Sphinx?
They were enemies I had to be wary of from the very beginning.
We did our best to hunt down all the monsters in our way.
The enemies were definitely tough, but since we had a method to fighting them, taking them down became quite systematic.
Haruna, Konohana, and Hyodor intentionally took turns using Gravity Bullet to blow away the monsters.
I was very glad we were of like mind.
They were tough enemies, so we took some damage, but it was nothing major.
Above all, there was one thing that made the whole battle a lot easier.
It’s a spell enhancement.
I could simultaneously cast one spell at three targets.
Of course, it took the same amount of MP from my MP bar, but that was well worth the time I saved by doing so.
Why?
Why didn’t you notice this?
My thoughts started filling with regret.
Oops, almost forgot.
positively.
Let’s go positively.
It’s not too late now.
I’ll make up for all the lost time.
The time was about 8:10 am.
After finishing off some more swarms of Spinks and Mummies, and after taking out some more Sphinxes, we got a variety of fruits for our labours.

I had already decided in advance which stats I wanted to raise.
It was a quick decision.
