We struggled a bit against a level 7 pair of Sphinx and Spinks, but I got some rewards that were far above the struggles it took to get them.
Finally.
To be honest, I was a bit envious of how Hyodor could level-up so much in such a short amount of time.
But finally…
It felt very nice to get to see that info screen again.

Strand’s poison attacks looked like they were quite effective.
It wasn’t much, but the poison would steadily eat away at the HP bars of the Sphinx and Spinks.
The stat that went up with Strand’s level-up was VIT.
I put another point into STR.

Strand was also quite close to his Class Change.
It was something I was very much looking forward to!
And it seemed I wasn’t the only one who got some nice level-ups in that fight.
Konohana did too.
Her Viper finally levelled up and went through a Class Change to change into a Venom Python.
Then, after Konohana used Fuse Monsters, a Chimera was born.
The Chimera would be a strong force in the front lines.
There was no doubt that it would let the fighting become easier and easier.
Well then.
It was time to switch out Strand.
I summoned Peptide.
I wanted to keep training all of my Summon Monsters.
Since the other people in the Union were starting to get stronger Summon Monsters themselves, I could relax a little more.
But really…
I couldn’t wait for Hyodor to get his level-up.
Fortunately, there weren’t any fights tough enough that Hyodor had to bring out the Spirit just yet.
What time was it?
It was 10:10 pm.
We were almost at the time limit.
But I didn’t have time to worry about that. We had to fight a level 6 pair of Sphinx and Spinks.
The pair was very strong.
The pair was actually so strong that Hyodor had to summon his Spirit after all.
What would happen if Hyodor didn’t bring out the Spirit?
It would probably have resulted in quite a dangerous situation.
Telomere took a direct hit from the Spinks’s tail, and it was enough to halve her HP bar.
The pair was definitely very strong.
As proof of his hard work, Volff got hit by an abnormal status condition too.
It was a miracle that none of us died in the fight against that pair of Sphinx and Spinks.
When the fight ended, five of our Summon Monsters, including Fusion Summon Monsters like the Orthros and Nue, were hit by abnormal status conditions.
Yep, it would take some time for us to get back on our feet.
It looked like even Irina and Konohana received abnormal status conditions too.
It was a really dangerous fight.
Good thinking, Hyodor!
It was a pity that the experience points had to be split even more because of Hyodor’s Spirit, but surviving was still our first priority.
I was sure that Hyodor did not bring out the Spirit in vain.
That was because after that fight, Hyodor finally managed to level up and get his Class Change.
We made it in time.
Really, it was very close.
We had to make it through a dangerous fight, but we made it nonetheless.
I managed to get some rewards from that fight too.

The pain of Obsidian’s death some time ago was still on my mind, but he had been making steady progress since then.
I would feed him some Antman Honey as a reward, but I had a feeling Obsidian wasn’t a big fan of honey to begin with.
I gave him some Sifca Meat instead.
I sliced the meat and gave it to Obsidian in small pieces, and he silently munched on them.
Shishiku’s persistent gaze on me hurt a bit.
You were eating the Sphinx earlier when we were fighting them, right!?
I was watching you, you know?
Oops. Almost forgot.
The stat that went up with the level-up was AGI.
I put another point into DEX.

Irina turned her gaze to Shishiku with a strange look on her face.
It wasn’t really something she had to be worried about though.
I couldn’t take too long to figure things out.
I wanted to get it over with as soon as possible.
When I tried selecting the free skill slot, it allowed me to choose between a few attributes.
What were my options?
Light Attribute, Dark Attribute, and Lava Attribute.
I decided on the Light Attribute.
The reason was simple.
It was just the first one on the list of options.
But…
After that, I heard a sound.
「Giii.」
No doubt about it.
It wasn’t just my ear ringing.
Everyone around me suddenly turned their heads at Shishiku.
The source of that strange sound was Shishiku.
「Gihi!」
Another bizarre sound came out of Shishiku’s throat.
Yep.
It was some kind of groaning sound.
It sounded like a creature in pain…
「Gishaaa!」
After that sound, Shishiku lowered his body.
Shishiku looked serious.
It was the first time seeing Shishiku put on that kind of face. I had never seen it before, even on Loewe!
I could see all the muscles of his body flex.
We were all looking on, when something happened to the muscles on the left side of Shishiku’s neck, and to his shoulder muscles.
They burst open.
「Gaaah!!!」
Shishiku stood up and roared at the sky.
Strangely, all of the other Summon Monsters didn’t even flinch.
They all calmly looked on at Shishiku.
It was just the players who were starting to panic.
Something started coming out of Shishiku’s shoulder.
The first thing I noticed was that it had eyes.
It also had two horns.
A thin elongated face.
And to top it off, a mouth.
It was the head of a goat.
What was even happening…
It looked like it was off balance, but at the same time it didn’t… It was a very twisted harmony.
The goat head’s eyes were bright red.
A crimson colour, not too far from the colour of blood.
It made me feel very uncomfortable.
It was sinister.
That was the only word I could use to describe it.
『Wow!』
『A, Adele-chan, is it really okay for you to come so close?』
「What is this, that’s amazing! I want this kind of Summon Monster too!』
All of our faces turned to faces of disbelief.
I felt a lot of sympathy for Irina, who was trying to hold back Adele.
I suppose this would be an effect of Predator Fusion…
It looked like a scene from a horror movie.
I tried checking Shishiku’s stats again.
