「Hmm… Its attack power, is quite low, huh?」
「True, but sometimes that’s okay, as long as you have the power and brute force to make up for it.」
「It’s okay?」
「Yep, it’s fine. You can make up for it by aiming for the weak spots using the Weapon Arte Snipe Shot.」
It looked like Hyodor understood what I was trying to say.
That Power value of 2 in the Obsidian Arrow was quite attractive, even if the number itself seemed underwhelming.
It was also good because obsidian stones were an abundant resource.
I see…
Depending on the viewpoint, the arrows could be considered strong or weak.
But I definitely wasn’t one to underestimate obsidian rocks.
I hadn’t used the spell Dowsing in a long time.
It would be good to use it once in a while.
I still had a stock of obsidian rocks that I got as item drops from the Centaurs, but maybe it would be good to have more.
I stopped working when Adele and Irina logged in, and we enjoyed a nice dinner together, the dinner having been prepared by Bunraku.
It was pasta.
Just pasta.
But there were two types.
There was no wine but one of the dishes had a vongole bianco flavour.
The pasta was quite thin, about the thickness of fedelini pasta.
It was simple but really delicious.
And there was also another pasta dish, the other dish had a sauce reminiscent of the flavour of ratatouille.
The pasta was as thick as a kishimen noodle.
That was nice too.
The sauce had a strong taste and it matched the noodles well.
I looked up from eating my meal to see Adele and Irina staring at Bunraku.
「Buono!」
I had a feeling Bunraku had no idea what they were saying, but still understood their intentions anyway.
Did he? How much did their excitement resound in Bunraku’s heart…? I had no idea.
And soon, some questions came flying.
Those pasta machines aren’t that expensive, you know? You can try getting one yourself…
After cleaning up all the dishes, we all took a look at the items that were organised and sorted by Haruna and Konohana.
Everyone agreed that for the time being, it would be good to let me carry all of the items.
We did one last check to make sure everyone was ready.
Alright, it was time for a night-time march.
Based on where we were in the Wide Area Map, I had a feeling that we would be able to reach the Area Portal within two hours.
I suppose clearing the Area Portal would be a worthy goal for the night.
Well then.
To do that, I had to change my Summon Monster lineup quite a bit.
Leaving just Volff on my team, I recalled Bunraku, Helix, Rig, and Nias.
I summoned Obsidian, Senki, Shishiku and Telomere.
It was our first time in the new map, and it was dark too, so there were a lot of ways in which we could get caught off guard by strong monsters.
I had to make sure I had my strongest Summon Monster team with me.
Adele started summoning her Summon Monsters too.
Taking a good look at them one by one, I noticed how much Adele had grown.
Adele’s Summon Monster team consisted of an Orthros, a White Wolf, a Golden Fox, a Mystic Eye, and a Wrestler Ogre.
She was going all out with her Summon Monster team.
With that Wrestler Ogre on her team, I had a feeling she was finally opening up to the idea of overrunning the enemy with brute force.
But the equipment that Adele’s Wrestler Ogre had was the same as when it was still a Beast Ape, so it looked a little cramped.
It would be good to make a stop sometime to get some more equipment for our Summon Monsters.
Irina had a Nue, a Clay Golem, a Black Wolf, a Wood Owl, and a Pixie.
She went for a serious team too.
As usual, Irina’s team was designed very well.
In particular, I had great expectations for Irina’s Clay Golem to act as a tank.
Hyodor’s team consisted of a White Wolf, an Owl, a Venom Python, a Lion, and an Imp.
It seemed to be the best he had, considering his present situation.
He didn’t have too many Class Change Summon Monsters just yet anyway, so I couldn’t expect too much from him.
The main cause of concern was that Lion.
If that Lion could get its Class Change, Hyodor would be able to get himself a Chimera.
I was looking forward to that.
Haruna had a Nue, a Mystic Eye, a Mud Golem, a Merrow, and an Imp.
If anything, her team looked like one designed around support.
Even so, it was a scary team compared to her Summon Monster team when we first started travelling together.
Konohana had a Chimera, a Grey Wolf, a Wood Owl, a Lorelei, and an Imp.
Yep, Konohana’s team was also mostly based around supporting everyone else.
Her lineup definitely showed off some tremendous growth too.
We were marching in a small group of 6 summoners and 30 Summon Monsters.
It was a small group, but put together, we had a good fighting strength.
There was a high chance of us defeating what was coming. Or at least, I was hoping for that to be the case.
I would be quite surprised if we were to get annihilated in the coming battle.
To avoid that, I would have to make sure I was paying close attention to my surroundings at all times.
We strengthened ourselves using spells and exited the Instant Portal to continue heading south.
Come on!
I was quite confident with taking down the monsters that would appear during the day.
But…
I was surprised when I used Call Monster to find that there were only a few monsters around us.
The closest monster was a Clay Golem.
It wasn’t really worth the effort.
It was a slow monster, and it would be a hassle for us to make the time to take it down.
I decided to ignore it and keep heading south.

On the way, we encountered these guys.
We were able to detect them in advance using our Summon Monsters, so we were ready for a fight.
But I didn’t expect there to be so many of them.
No matter how I looked at it, their numbers were at least three times larger than ours.
My vision went red.
There was a blanket of red markers spreading before me.
The Roseroot were all animated plants, which looked a bit like monks.
No, they looked like monk soldiers.
They were all wearing white hoods.
Their clothes looked like a monk’s working clothes.
They were even wearing sandals.
I looked closer and saw that they were carrying weapons. Naginata.
Without exception, all of them were carrying a naginata.
They were quite thorough, huh…
「We’re in our best condition! Don’t get discouraged!」
Without waiting for a reply, I rushed to the front.
In one hand was my Snow Beast Mace.
In my other hand, I held a tonfa.
There were a lot of prey.
Alright, everybody ready?
I’ll give you one warning though: don’t get too close to me.
I’m swinging around something quite dangerous.
The battle was fierce from the very beginning.
But that was fine.
Yep, that was completely fine.
There were a lot of Flower Spirits we had to take care of, but it didn’t look like there were any boss-tier monsters.
It didn’t look like any of them would become potential Summon Monsters in the future either, so that was a shame.
The male ones had yellow sashes at their waists and the female ones had red sashes.
Also as the name implied, the males looked like male plants and the females looked like female plants.
The fight was starting to hurt my heart a bit too.
In particular, the female Flower Spirits looked like nuns, which made it a bit difficult for me to attack them.
I was still okay with slamming my heavy mace into their faces, but every time I did, it genuinely hurt my heart.
They were seriously tough.
Shishiku attracted a lot of my attention too.
The unusual shape of that goat’s head growing from Shishiku’s shoulder stood out even more in the middle of a fight.
Besides the goat’s head, Shishiku was also shooting bullets of fire and light all around him as he fought.
Did that mean that Shishiku managed to adopt a new fighting style?
I couldn’t even imagine Shishiku getting any scarier than he already was.
