The Summoner is Going Chapter 245 Part 1

《You have received some information from the GMs. Do you wish to read them?》

I logged in.
The time was 6:10 am.
Was it the usual info from the GMs?
It would probably be another database update.

《Notice of the Event Ending: We have confirmed that all of the attackers have been repelled. Move on to the next step! 》

It took me some time to figure out what the title was talking about.
The meaning was a bit unclear.
The time-consuming task of collecting information was usually the job of the GMs.
Maybe this was their way of getting back at us?
I felt like I was being led to think something that was out of the question though.

I immediately started looking through the contents of the message.

《The following invaders have been repelled by the players:》

『Raiders of the Plains』

『Raiders of the Sea』

『Raiders of the Forests』

『Raiders of the Mountains』

That was it. There was nothing else in the message.
Yep, it was still a bit unclear what the message was talking about.

At least give me some sort of hint to understand what’s going on, please…

「Good morning!」

「Good Morning, Keith!」

「Oh, morning.」

As usual, I was the last to log in.
Well, I was in-game until quite late the night before anyway.
The night before, everybody had fatigued faces when they logged out.
Compared to their faces the night before, everybody looked very refreshed.
It looked like a curse had fallen from them.

Breakfast had already been prepared.
Muu…
I guess it was my fault that Bunraku didn’t get an opportunity to do anything that morning.

I sat down to eat breakfast and we had a chat to talk about the schedule for the day.
As expected, the ideas went all over the place.
But there were also a few ideas with strong cases behind them.
One idea was to continue horse hunting, like we did the day before.

Personally, I wanted to check out what was beyond the other valleys acting as the ways out of the Area Portal nearby.
But if we couldn’t do that, I wouldn’t mind checking out the Relay Portal at the southern end of the S5 map either. I knew it was some sort of cave, which meant that it had to lead somewhere.
And of course, the prospect of fighting more Sphinx and Spinks was a nice thought too.
But at the end of the day, the items that we could get from those Amenofuchikoma in S3E1 were quite attractive.
I was also interested in those.

There was one decision in the beginning though. Continuing the hunt on the S4E1 map was out of the question.
Well, I wasn’t exactly for it, but I got drowned out.
Although I understood where they were coming from. I could use Psycho Pod as a countermeasure, but it would still be difficult to fight against the monsters here.
Especially the Catoblepas.
I didn’t really want to verify whether their petrification attack meant instant death.

「Speaking of which, all of the monsters on this map have something to do with stone, right?」

Irina pointed out a good observation.
She also thought that the Catoblepas petrification attack leading to an instant kill was a bit suspicious.
Well, knowing Irina, she was probably right, but I didn’t want to be the one to verify that.
Rejected!

「What about horse hunting on S3E1?」

After all our discussion, there was no opposition to Haruna’s last idea.
Well, just spending some time hunting Amenofuchikoma wouldn’t be too bad.
All the other monsters that were on the table were just too much of a hassle to fight.

Well, they could be carrying good items, so there was that possibility as well…
But ignoring that, it wasn’t worth it to try fighting monsters elsewhere.

The Frigate Birds would be good prey for Adele, Irina, and Hyodor too, since they used bows as their main weapons.
The Frigate Bird feathers were good for attaching to the back of arrows.
It wasn’t too clear yet what we would do with the Amenofuchikoma Skins, but I had a feeling we could expect many good things.

Then what was the problem?
What could we do about the other monsters?
The hermit crabs… No, Fort Crabs were completely out of the question.
The item drops we could get from the Ophion Snakes were rather subtle too.
We could try fighting them for those items drops, but the poison that they had was too much of a bother.

For the time being, we decided to ignore them.
Although if we were to get attacked by them, we could easily intercept and counterattack as well.
If we were on horseback, we could also just run away.

「Alright, then I’m going to log out here okay!」

Adele was going to be the one to log out at the recently-cleared Area Portal.
With Hyodor, we could also make a pit stop at the Grey Forest using Return Home.
It was a unique strategy, but it was certainly making things very convenient.

We arrived at the Sunrise Lighthouse by Konohana’s Return Home.
As usual, there were no other players.
The others had apparently already posted that there were special conditions for acquiring different items from the monsters in S3E1 on the forums.
Was the map still unpopular anyway?
Well, those Frigate Birds were quite annoying to deal with, after all.
We could more or less deal with them because we all had horses.
I suppose that was a special advantage that we had.

As soon as we arrived, the party was disbanded, and we summoned all of our Summon Monsters for the day.
What lineup did I decide on?
I went for Zangetsu, Helix, Obsidian, Ninetails, and Tigris.
I could expect both physical and special attacks from these guys.
I didn’t have to do any exploration, so I didn’t really need Volff to be on the team.
But still, it would be very convenient to have Volff’s danger sensing skills. I would have to rely on the others for that.

Adele’s team consisted of a White Horse, a Golden Fox, a Fighting Falcon, a Mystic Eye, and an Imp.

Irina’s team consisted of a Battle Horse, a Pixie, a Nue, a Wood Owl, and an Imp.

Hyodor’s team consisted of a White Horse, a Battle Hawk, a Mystic Eye, an Imp, and a Chimera.

Haruna’s team consisted of a White Horse, a Mystic Eye, a Fighting Falcon, a Nue, and an Imp.

Konohana’s team consisted of a Battle Horse, a Wood Owl, a Mystic Eye, a Chimera, and an Imp.

I hadn’t seen so many flying Summon Monsters and beast Summon Monsters together in one place for a long time.
There were many owls that day too.
In total, there were 7 owls.
The number of hawks was lower… There were 4 of them.
Although a total of 11 predatory birds would still be quite scary if they were acting together.
It was a good choice, considering what monsters we were up against in the map.
It was also interesting to see that they all had the same intention of training their imps, as if they had all agreed to do so beforehand.

The plan was to mainly hunt horses until noon.
After that, we could jump to the Grey Forest and the Wind Spirit Village to make some requests for newer equipment.
The reason I wanted to try using Return Home to go to two places was because I had Production Job Players I was familiar with in both places.
And of course, it wasn’t going to be an issue anyway.
It was easy to get around using Return Home.

But to think that our journey was almost at an end…
Well, I already managed to clear two Area Portals by involving Adele and the others.
I couldn’t get too greedy.
It was true that I wished we could travel together a little more.
But oh well, it was fine.
I could figure out what to do when the situation presented itself.
I was always doing that, after all.

Haruna and Konohana were especially excited that day.
Adele and Irina were pulled along by their momentum.
Everyone in the party ended up especially aggressive.
I asked, and apparently Adele and Irina levelled up their Racial Level, Job Level, and even Summon Magic skill last night in the Area Portal battle.
Haruna and Konohana did not get those level-ups.
Well, considering their growth process up to the point where we were Haruna and Konohana had to be very close too.

What were the results of our horse hunt?
We managed to get a lot of Amenofuchikoma skins.
I had a feeling the Frigate Birds and Ophion Snakes were also less intrusive that morning.
