The Summoner is Going Chapter 245 Part 2

The time was 11:30 am.
It was a good time to move on.
One of the reasons behind that was that I also wanted to take a lunch break, but a big reason was that Haruna and Konohana finally got their level-ups.
I got some nice rewards from our morning of horse hunting too.

《【Light Magic】Level Up!》
《【Dark Magic】Level Up!》
《【Fire Magic】Level Up!》
《【Water Magic】Level Up!》
《【Steam Magic】Level Up!》
《【Lightning Magic】Level Up!》
《【Ice Magic】Level Up!》
《【Tree Magic】Level Up!》

I used way too many spells, so I suppose that was to be expected.
Although I was only using Force Bullet!
My Summon Monsters’ MP bars didn’t look too good either.
Well, it was natural because we had to take them down entirely by using spells to get the proper item drops.

Well then.
I used Instant Portal.
I recalled Zangetsu and summoned Bunraku.
I let Bunraku cook us lunch.
While chatting, we decided to take the time to distribute the many item drops that we had collected over the past several days.

The three Ancient Stone Pillars were the biggest item drops that we had.
After some discussion, the three of them all went to me.
Haruna and Konohana didn’t need the Frigate Bird Wings, so they were distributed among just four people.
All the other items, the Lion Sage’s Stings, and the Amenofuchikoma Skins were distributed fairly.
We managed to split the Lion Sage’s Stings equally, but there were leftovers for the Amenofuchikoma Skins, which were taken by Haruna and Konohana.
The rest of the leftover items, and the small and random items I chose to purchase using money instead.
I had the most room in my 《Item Box》 so it made sense.
Since the distribution of the item drops was not completely fair, I added some money to everyone else’s share, and nobody complained.

Speaking of the Amenofuchikoma Skins, I got myself 8 of them.
Yeah, that would be plenty!

As requested by everyone else, we ended up having more pasta for lunch.
The sauce was completely different from the pasta bunraku made the day before, but it was still delicious.

The others decided to take a break and log out for a while, so until they came back, I had some free time.
I spent the time waiting by excavating my third Ancient Stone Pillar.
Give me some more Petrified Wood please!
With that in mind, I continued working.

It was 12:20 pm.
We got moving as soon as everyone came back.
After cleaning up the dishes and recalling our Summon Monsters, we formed a party with 6 people.
Where was our first destination?
It was the Grey Forest.
Hyodor used the spell Return Home, and my surroundings shifted in a moment.
The next moment, we were already right outside the Grey Forest.
I was getting used to our Return Home strategy.
Having it was very useful.
But I knew that the six of us couldn’t work together forever.
That talk came up when we chatted over lunch.
We would only get to travel together until noon of the next day.

Everyone’s holiday times were about to finish up… But what would they do afterwards?
Haruna, Konohana, and Hyodor would most likely continue mainly around the Grey Forest.
It was where they made commissions for their equipment too, so it was to be expected.
Adele and Irina wanted to go check out the fishing village of Neeme again, and then maybe clear the Demon Island event.
But before that, they wanted to strengthen their aquatic Summon Monsters at the coast.

What about me?
I had a lot of things on my agenda.
For the time being, I suppose I could spend some time training myself against the Deva Kings or the Twelve Heavenly Generals while waiting for my equipment to finish?
I felt like that would be good.

「Well, we’ll get going now!」

「See you later~」

Haruna, Konohana, and Hyodor went to different parts of the Grey Forest to complete their personal responsibilities.
What about me?
I decided to say hi at one of the workshops where I knew rubber products were being made.
It probably wasn’t going to be possible to commercialise it just yet, but I knew the number of samples was increasing.
It was something to look forward to.

It seemed like Sakura and the others at the workshop were very serious in developing the resources they had.
The number of rubber sheet samples with different hardness was increasing.
Large prototype moulds were also available.

「What kind of issues do you think you will run into in the future?」

「I mentioned this last time… But I suppose aging?」

I took out all the beeswax that I had in my 《Item Box》 and handed it over to Sakura.

「What is this?」

「You’ll want to add this in a 1:100 ratio with natural rubber. Try mixing it in when you’re mixing in the sulfur to create a sheet.」

「When mixing the sulfur, yes?」

「Well, it’s just a hunch, but it might have an effect on delaying the progress of aging.」

The Antman Beeswax had a wax component to it.
The wax should seep to the surface of the rubber and form a thin film.
The phenomenon was called “bloom”.
Normally, I would prefer to use petroleum-based paraffin wax, but beeswax would be better than nothing!
Maybe it would work fine as a temporary substitute.

It was also the reason why in the past, many old tires often developed white sidewalls over time.
Well, that was also because other compounding agents would also deposit themselves on the tire surface.
It was actually quite the trap. Cleaning the tire surface would only accelerate deterioration.
Well, there are better compounding agents being used now, so the same phenomenon doesn’t occur as often anymore.
But excessive tire cleaning is still something that should be avoided.

「How do you think we can even compare the difference in aging?」

「Test them by exposing them to the elements, I suppose? You can probably just leave the different sheets outside and wait.」

「That’s it?」

「That’s all.」

Yep.
It sounded too good to be true, but that was really it.
It would take some time, but the results would certainly show themselves.
There was no ozone deterioration tester in this world.
Although the oil resistance test would work, it would probably be best to just ignore that one.
The applications of that test were hard to think of in-game.

Although it wasn’t a substitute for any compensation, I received 3 different types of sample sheets.
They were made by changing the amount of carbon black in each sheet.
Looking at them might lead to better ideas.

It looked like Kawano and Ryukahn decided to give up on making prototype shields and started devising a lining for armour instead.
I guess they really were in a hurry to commercialise the rubber products.
But armour lining would be quite a nice thing to have.
It would mean that weather resistance wouldn’t have to be such a big consideration for every piece of armour.
They were looking into the composition of the soft rubber mixture, adjusting it while considering elasticity and manufacturability.

The time was 1:20 pm.
When we all finished our respective responsibilities, we gathered again.
Well then… It was time for our next destination.
It was time to head to the Wind Spirit Village.
That time, it was Irina who used Return Home.

My vision shifted in an instant, and I could suddenly see the Wind Spirit Village nearby.
Wow, no matter how many times we did it, it still felt way too convenient!

「Oh, welcome, everyone!」

Rick was the first one to greet us.
The others seemed to be busy with equipment-making and were all in their studios.
It looked like the equipment that we asked for was going to be completed soon.

「I would like to have some more winter equipment too please! I have the materials here!」

「Oh, the one you messaged Saki about earlier, yes?」

What?
Adele, did you manage to get a fast one on me?
Did they already make their requests before even bringing in the materials?
Adele and Irina piled up the Amenofuchikoma Skins on a nearby table.

「What do you want to make out of this?」

「A coat!」

「It’s for us, and for our mermaids.」

Hmm?
That actually sounded pretty good.
I’ll ask for the same!
