The Summoner is Going Chapter 245 Part 3
「Could I have one of those coats made for me too?」
「It will probably be fine, but… Which Summon Monster do you want to make a coat for?」
「I want one for my Merrow Nias, and my Vampire Telomere.」
「What about the type of coat, do you have any preferences there?」
「No, not really. I’ll leave it to you guys.」
I put in a similar commission through Rick.
It would probably turn out fine.
I was piggybacking on Adele and Irina a bit though.
Well, the real deal was about to begin after we were finished making our commissions.
Next, I was the one who used the Return Home spell.
Yep, after I used the spell, we jumped to the Relay Portal at the southern end of the S5 map.
It wouldn’t be bad to challenge the Sphinx and Spinks again…
In fact, it would be quite good.
But I wanted to go to the S6 map.
That was my hope.
Of course, I started by bringing it up to everyone.
All of them looked at me with terrified looks.
No, I really do think we have enough fighting strength to try it, guys?
No?
A bit crazy? Overkill?
It was a place that we would eventually see anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt to just take a quick look, right?
I didn’t say anything about the Area Portal of the S6 map, you know?
I wasn’t trying to clear the S6 Area Portal just yet!
Irina had her suspicions that I would keep going all the way to the Area Portal if we even stepped foot into the map.
I had no idea why she thought that, but after clearing things up, they reluctantly agreed.
In any case, when we reached the Relay Portal, we broke up our party, and summoned our Summon Monster teams.
It was still the same team as always, centered around prioritising mobility.
It would also allow us to run away whenever things went south too.
But when we entered the S6 map, I immediately realised I would have to change my Summon Monster team.
It was a full-fledged desert.
A series of sand dunes that were difficult to navigate on horseback.
We could try using a fly spell too?
I thought about that, but then I realised that having to deal with an enemy as strong as a Sphinx in the air probably wouldn’t be fun for anyone.
What did my team look like?
I went for a Summon Monster team consisting of Volff, Helix, Senki, Shishiku, and Ninetails.
I wasn’t intending on reducing my fighting strength.
But still, I would have to consider having a lot of scouts on my team.
Adele’s Summon Monster team consisted of a White Wolf, a Mystic Eye, a Wrestler Ogre, a Golden Fox, and an Orthros.
Irina’s team consisted of a Black Wolf, a Battle Hawk, a Clay Golem, a Pixie, and a Nue.
Hyodor’s team consisted of a White Wolf, a Mystic Eye, a Battle Hawk, a Beast Ape, and a Chimera.
Haruna’s team consisted of a Mystic Eye, a Fighting Falcon, a Mud Golem, a Merrow, and a Nue.
Konohana’s team consisted of a Grey Wolf, a Wood Owl, a Mystic Eye, a Lorelei, and a Chimera.
Hyodor’s Beast Ape was the only Summon Monster in our Union that hadn’t gotten his Class Change.
We were as strong as we could get.
We were probably still going to have a hard time, but I didn’t think that we were going to lose any battles.
But considering the map we were in, there was no being too careful either. We had to stay on the lookout, spotting an ambush before it was too late could help save our lives.
When we encountered our first monster, we were fortunate enough to spot it before it attacked us.

『A basilisk! Watch out for that one!』
Hyodor’s voice contained a lot of fear.
Yep, even I was familiar with the name of that monster.
If my memory was right, I think it had the ability to petrify, which would probably mean instant death.
Similar to the Catoblepas, in that sense.
I felt like that point came up in our conversations earlier too.
There was one Wadje Worshipper, one Wadje Servant, four Wadje Slaves, and one Basilisk.
The Lesser Basilisk was actually quite big, about the size of an anaconda.
And the Wadje Worshipper just looked very strange.
It was half a person, and half a snake.
It’s head looked like it belonged to a snake.
Not just any snake, a cobra?
The torso looked like a human’s torso.
But the lower body was the body of a snake.
It moved around by sliding on the sand.
What did we get ourselves into…
Oh dear…
The terrain was definitely in favour of the monsters we were facing.
「True Practiced Spirit!」 「 Bless!」「 Meditate!」
I used some Weapon Artes to boost my stats.
Next, I selected a spell and started casting it.
What about the spell Psycho Pod?
Of course, I took the time to make sure I had that spell cast on everyone.
Although we had the overwhelming advantage in terms of numbers…
Something weird happened when the Wadje Worshipper tried to close the distance.
A small green marker indicating a Summon Monster was there.
The small green markers started to overlap one another.
It was its petrification ability.
I wanted to rush towards the Wadje Worshipper, but the sand underneath my feet was getting in the way.
Oh no…
Our initiative was being taken away!
I thought the flying Summon Monsters would be more hesitant to rush in, but even some of them had already started to petrify.
It would be dangerous if more and more of our Summon Monsters were to get turned into stone…
「Lower DEF!」
It was a desperate move, and I wasn’t sure whose DEF I managed to lower.
There was no time to check for the marker.
I immediately started casting a spell.
After some moving around, I was finally able to deliver a solid hit to the Lesser Basilisk with my Petrified Wood Staff.
The songs of the Merrow and the Lorelei began to resound around me, and small thunderstorms also scattered left and right.
The Lesser Basilisk recoiled, but then exposed its fangs and aimed them at me.
As it was about to attack, Senki punched it out of the way.
Was it working?
It was working, right?
The Basilisk was knocked away, but in exchange, there was a smaller marker overlapping Senki’s green marker. An abnormal status condition.
Oh dear…
But…!
The little marker soon disappeared.
What? What was going on?
That was when I saw more reinforcements around Senki.
Undine Lv.7
Spirit In Battle
Battle Position: Underwater, Ground Water Attribute
Right… This is…
Hyodor’s spirit!
「Dispel Magic!」
It was enough to get some of the flying Summon Monsters that were petrified earlier back into the sky.
Although I didn’t have the time to confirm it.
I just had to deal with the monsters in front of me.
The battle was only continuing to heat up.
Fire breath attacks broke out from our Summon Monsters.
And lightning strikes came one after the other.
There were even dark shadows moving around on the sands?
At some point, it was just the Lesser Basilisk left.
What happened to the Wadje Worshipper?
Volff got his jaws around its neck, and it was finished soon afterwards.
Yeah… It was a solid tactic.
Although I missed getting to see the Wadje Worshipper get finished off.
The Clay Golem and the Mud Golem were surrounding the Lesser Basilisk.
The singing voices of the Merrow and the Lorelei turned sinister, as if to announce the death of that Lesser Basilisk.
The Summon Monsters who were previously petrified also returned from petrification one after another and started joining in the front line again.
Wait!
Don’t gather around the Lesser Basilisk so much, please!
Let me get some hits in too!
But my wish did not come true, and the Lesser Basilisk was overwhelmed and taken down.
Its head was pressed down by the Mud Golem, and its tail was also caught by the Clay Golem, leaving it completely incapable of escaping.
Just a little while…
Just a little while longer, and I could’ve gotten a hit in…
The HP bar of the demon disappeared just before I got to hit it with my Petrified Wood Staff.
Oh. It really was over…
Sigh…
It was over.
It felt tough, emotionally more than anything else.
I wanted to be the one collecting the item drops from the monsters by sticking my Survival Knife into them. It would be my consolation prize.
They didn’t drop anything.
What is this, GMs?
You’ve done it now!
After listening to everyone’s take on the map, we decided to go back.
We walked all the way back to the Relay Portal in S5.
I didn’t die and I didn’t take any abnormal status conditions either.
But as expected, it would be difficult to continue heading southward.
I also figured out that Psycho Pod wasn’t a foolproof spell.
It was scary thinking about it. There were abnormal status conditions that could get past Psycho Pod and could only be removed using Dispel Magic.
Also, Hyodor couldn’t bring out the spirit Undine that many times.
I would have to come up with countermeasures in the meantime.
Obviously, it was going to be tough unless I could figure out a way to counter the abnormal status conditions mainly using my equipment.
Yeah… That was a solid plan.
I could try again sometime in the future.
