Chapter 49 Part 16 – A memory from the previous「108 times」. The conclusion. They are dying, but their feelings transcend time. And the loop begins again.
Alisa sneered at Bradd as he staggered.
「It’s amazing of you to still be able to move even when I’ve destroyed your five senses and motor nerves. You know, people don’t like persistent men. Oh my, I forgot to take away your voice that whispers your love for Scarlet. Ahaha, you look like a fish that has been deprived of oxygen. So miserable.」
Seeing Bradd become speechless and let open his mouth to make a soundless cry, she pulled away and as if reluctant to part with a lover, she thumped him on the chest with both hands. Unable to do anything else, Bradd dropped to his knees on the floor. The sky peeked through the hole in the chapel’s roof. Tears fell from Bradd’s eyes as he looked up at the sky with a sad expression.
「…… It’s no use gazing at the sky. The canary that has forgotten its song and lost its wings is better suited to crawl on the ground. You are no longer qualified to sing words of love. …… Farewell, fall into the abyss.」
Alisa laughed with a vicious expression.
She turned around in a spectacularly flamboyant manner and turned her back on Bradd. Alisa’s crimson eyes turned back to ice-like blue color. The wings of blood were released and feather-like red sparkles danced in the air. In the midst of the fantastic scene of sparkles pouring down, Bradd slowly collapsed to the floor and passed away.
「…… Fufu, that was harder than I expected. I’ve exhausted a lot of blood. If I kept using the divine ancestor state for another minute, I would have been unable to fight. What a pity.」
As if she were dancing, Alisa walked across the floor where she and the three guys had a fierce battle.
Her cheeks were blushing and her breath excited, it was like she had forgotten that they tried to kill each other.
As if this was not a ruined chapel, but a school building full of youth.
With the face of an innocent maiden in love.
Actually, she was so exhausted that she could not stand up properly due to the repercussions of the divine ancestor state, but her exuberance was giving her vitality.
At the end of her gaze was Scarlet, who was lying down.
Alisa walked and bent down quickly as if to greet someone. She picked up something from the floor. The light of the moon fell faintly on the dull metal. In the broad daylight sky, there was a very fine moon that seemed to have been sharpened to the utmost limit.
「…… Ahh, I didn’t only have five cards, but six cards.」
Alisa regained her wicked expression and sneered.
The crescent moon period is over. That meant that Alisa had regained her precognition.
Huge wings flapped quietly, grazing the faint moonlight.
A bird the size of an adult flew through a hole in the chapel’s roof. It was a white owl, Arnold’s partner. Its golden eyes glinted with vengeance and murderous intent. It attacked Alisa from behind, taking advantage of her blind spot.
Its fighting power is greater than that of a giant eagle and its vicious claws can easily crush a human’s neck.
「…… Though you are an animal, your loyalty is admirable. I’ll let you follow the steps of your master who can praise you in the afterlife.」
Without looking back, Alisa tossed the object in her hand behind her. It was a heavy brass candlestick. As the sharp tip of the center of the candlestick slowly rotated in midair, it pierced through the head of the white owl. The speed was concentrated on a single point.
A force as strong as the tip of a thrown spear was applied to the candlestick. The candlestick crushed the vital point in the middle of the owl’s forehead and caused its blood, brain, and feathers to scatter, and the white owl crashed at a sharp angle. It was an almost instantaneous death.
Alisa didn’t even look behind her.
Giving it a path to death was just a routine act for her, when she had the precognition ability.
Most of Alisa’s attention was focused on Scarlet, who was unconscious in front of her.
「I can finally be alone with you. You look a little worn out. But you look lovely even so. There is still plenty of time left this time. It might not be a bad idea to change things up and see your face twisting with pleasure instead of sorrow ……」
So she was late in noticing the figure that was hiding behind the giant owl and approaching quickly.
When she finally noticed, she saw Bradd leaping out from behind the fluttering feathers.
The wind that Bradd had brought with him sent Alisa’s blond hair flying up into the air. This obstructed her eyes and further delayed her vision.
「…… Ghh ……!?」
A dull sound rang from his fist hitting her flesh.
Bradd’s left fist struck her side and her feet floated off the ground. Alisa’s blond hair simultaneously danced in the air as his fist struck her. Alisa was sent flying. There was an unpleasant sound like a dead tree breaking. Several of her ribs were broken and pierced her lungs, causing blood to come out of her mouth.
She could not believe what had happened.
Like Bradd, Alisa is able to detect the condition of her opponent by the blood flow. Her accuracy is extremely high. At that time, Bradd had indeed died.
It is not easy for even the seven phantoms to deceive Alisa’s eyes. Despite her haughty attitude, Alisa is frighteningly cautious. She is a schemer herself and can read what other people are scheming. Playing dead to Alisa and then striking back at her when the opportunity arises is as difficult as fooling a dog’s sense of smell. Alisa has that much pride in herself. However, even though her pride was shattered, she did not shrink back and quickly and readily admitted that facts are facts.
She instantly finished assembling a plan of counterattack in her mind.
「…… I’m surprised. You can still move. Is this your way of repaying me for what I just did? Oh, well, that’s okay. I was a little too excited. As it was, I would have broken Scarlet due to my excitement. It was just the right amount of shock. But still ……」
She turned in mid-air and smiled bitterly while wiping the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand as she adjusted her stance.
She remembered that she had blocked Bradd’s vision with her own blond hair earlier and slammed him with a series of kicks.
Bradd responded silently. He jumped to the point where Alisa would land faster than her landing on the ground. His fists roared at Alisa as she descended. As if he was a killing machine, there was no hesitation in his movements.
「…… I cannot forgive you for interrupting my reunion with Scarlet. For a canary that still won’t give up even after he lost his wings and voice, I have no choice but to twist off his legs and neck ……」
Alisa’s expression changed. She was furious that her private time with her loved one had been interrupted. The pigment in her blue eyes turned translucent like a high-temperature flame.
Alisa landed not on the ground, but on top of Bradd’s knee.
「…… Ahaa!! I got one leg!!」
The speed of Alisa’s fall, her full weight, the force of her kick, and the momentum of Bradd’s dash all came together and were instantly concentrated on Bradd’s kneecap. There was a spine-chilling sound like the splintering of trees in the frigid snowy mountains. Bradd’s knee joint was crushed by Alisa.
Alisa still hasn’t finished her move. She drove the tip of her other foot into Bradd’s solar plexus. The purpose was to shock his diaphragm and cause a temporary pause in his breathing. Alisa’s body bent backward as she unleashed two kicks simultaneously. She was trying to dodge Bradd’s fist that was aimed at her face. Then she somersaulted and leapt backward.
It was an artistic counter that combined both attack and evasion.
While in mid-air, Alisa was sure that she had sealed Bradd’s legs and movements. At the very least, she would be able to gain enough distance to get into the Sky Dance position. So she was horrified when she realized that Bradd’s shadow was following her without a moment’s delay. She had an uneasy feeling. She was also horrified that Bradd didn’t hesitate to try to punch a woman in the face. She couldn’t see Bradd’s expression because it was hidden by his bangs.
