Fists went flying left and right and bodies continuously dropped. The customers that had been enraged with the soldiers had no clue what was going on and ran away, terrified. The women as well were scared witless and followed suit. Those that remained were the dozens of soldiers Kazuki’s group and Lamia and her doorman.

Although the soldiers all had weapons, Kazuki and the others were several times faster and stronger than these average men. With Kimi’s support and Sam’s tank-like attributes, Kazuki Asuna and Shin swept through the remaining soldiers in less than 2 minutes.

Seeing that everything was all over, Nunully ran down the stairs and supported her mother.

“Mama!”

Lamia’s face was bloodied and swollen but thanks to the doorman covering her body with his and taking most of the blows, the damage was non-life threatening. Still, to see your own mother in such a miserable state, Nunully immediately burst into tears.

“Mama, this is all my fault. If only I didn’t get caught, if only I weren’t a half breed.”

Lamia gently stroked Nunully’s cheek and slowly shook her head in denial.

“No, the fault lies in the hearts of these foolish men. To feel such hatred and disgust for my angelic daughter. To me, your half-elf side is a million times more wonderful than their human side. Every time I see those ears of yours I’m reminded of your father. He was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen and also the kindest. You are kind just like him, which is one of the many reasons that I love you so much. Never hate yourself for that side, it is what makes you, you.”

Nunully hugged her mother and cried pitifully.

Asuna and Kimi felt heartbroken hearing this and felt for her.

Kazuki, though, knew time was running out and they had to leave soon. Pressing a hand onto both the doorman and Lamia, Kazuki sent some of his ki into them to help relieve their pain and give them a bit of energy. Within moments, the two visibly looked a bit better and stared wide-eyed at Kazuki but he just ignored them. Everyone else as well wondered what he just did but before they could ask, Kazuki walked over to the commander’s corpse, whose uniform wasn’t too badly damaged and began stripping him.

Asuna pointed a dagger in Kazuki’s direction as she stuttered in embarrassment.

“Y…y… you, what the hell are you taking his clothes off for?”

“We have to get out of here and fast. You all as well gather a uniform from a body, quickly.”

Kazuki finished stripping the commander and then he took his own clothes off as well, until he wore nothing more than a pair of underwear.

Asuna and Nunully covered their eyes bashfully but Kazuki could tell that a bit of peaking was going on. Sam, on the other hand, knew what Kazuki was up to and followed suit, which allowed Kimi to thoroughly enjoy the show. Soon Kazuki and Sam were in the two soldier’s garbs.

Kazuki wore the commander’s uniform and gave off a dominating air, while Sam looked a little funny, seeing as how none of the soldiers was his size, so the uniform ended up being extremely tight.

Kazuki still wasn’t finished, taking some blood from the ground, he smeared it over his face. He could wear a helmet to help hide his identity but a commander’s face would need to be seen if they were passing through one of the city’s gates but he figured if he had a bloody face, who in their right mind, during all of this chaos, would ask that a commander wash the blood from his face so that he could be properly identified.

Shin finally put two and two together and before he even found a proper uniform, he had already thrown off all of his clothes. Staring at the ladies behind him, Shin laughed with a hint of lust in his voice.

“Come on ladies, what are you all waiting for? The water’s fine, hehehe.”

Asuna and the others felt a shudder run down their spines.

Sam, though, looked up at Kimi and she smiled at him in return. She came down the steps and pointed at a fallen soldier.

“Sam.”

Sam nodded in understanding and stripped the soldier for her, then standing in front of her with his large frame, he made a human wall so Shin and the others couldn’t see.

“Nunully, you too will need a uniform if my plan is going to work. Also, I’ll need to borrow your mask.”

Nunully didn’t understand why he needed her bronze mask but handed it over without a fuss.

Kazuki hollered up the stairs as well.

“Danny, I don’t know why you’re just standing up there. Hurry the hell up and put on a damn uniform, time is running short.”

Danny blinked a few times before he got the message and came down to the first floor and put on a uniform.

Lamia escorted Nunully to a room and the doorman grabbed a uniform for her and stood guard outside the room.

Asuna as well, although nervous about removing her clothes in front of the boys, realized that there was no time to waste and was about to start stripping when Kazuki stopped her and pushed Nunully’s mask into her hands.

“No, there’s no need for you to change. Instead, I’ll need you to do something if this plan is going to work.”

Asuna was confused and Danny as well. Danny was also the first to voice his complaint.

“What the hell, man. Why does everyone have to drop trou but her, that’s not fair.”

“Do you want to get out of the city and not get captured by Garn and tortured?”

Danny went silent from Kazuki’s response.

“Good, then let me handle this. If I say she doesn’t need to change, then she doesn’t need to.”

Lamia and Nunully were quite in one of the rooms. Nunully got changed and stared at her mother, in anguish.

“Mom, if any of those customers are caught and made to talk then those in charge will know that you tried to help me and the others. Whatever plan you had before, you can’t continue it in Tresta. They’ll be coming after you next and even this brothel can’t be operated anymore. You can’t stay here anymore, so please come with me. I…I don’t want to leave your side. I don’t want to be without you.”

Lamia squeezed a fist so tightly that her nails dug into her own flesh and a few drops of blood began to fall. Nunully was alarmed by this and grabbed her mother’s hand, stopping her from continuing.

“Nunully, even if the world comes after me, I refuse to leave. They can take my business but I won’t quit. They can look for me all they want but I’ll go underground and they’ll never even spot my shadow. I don’t care if I have to live in the fucking sewers, I will not leave this city.”

Lamia could see the look of worry in her daughter’s eyes and her expression softened.

*Haaa*

“Nene, I’ll be fine. Besides with the way things are going, it may prove to be the perfect opportunity for me to get to that cowardly weasel. If things go well, I may even be able to finish things here sooner than I ever imagined and I’ll be able to catch up with you in a few month’s time. Don’t worry, your mother knows what to do. You just listen to that Ryuta boy and let him take you to Rin and mommy will be right behind you, I promise.”

Once more the two hugged and for a long while neither one could let the other go. Only until a knock was heard at the door did the two finally separate. Lamia scrunched her brows in displeasure and yelled.

“What is it?”

“Boss, Ryuta says its time.”

Nunully came out of the room and Kazuki looked her up and down.

“Not bad. Here, put this on.”

Kazuki handed her a helmet and looking around the room Shin, Danny, Kimi, and Sam wore one as well. Kazuki seemed to be the only one without one and to her surprise, Asuna was wearing her bronze mask.

“Don’t ask questions just put the helmet on.”

Outside the Dancing Gazelle, Kazuki and the others snuck through the city like rats in the night, all the way until they were only a hundred or so feet from the west gate. Crouched down in the shadow of a building, Kazuki asked everyone one last time.

“Do you all remember what you have to do?”

Asuna and the others all nodded.

“Ok, then let’s start. Asuna, go.”

Asuna lowered the bronze mask over her face and headed toward the gate. Only a second later, Kazuki and the others jumped out of the shadows and chased after her.

A hundred soldiers were protecting the gate and a few of them noticed her right away and were on guard but with Kazuki’s shout, everyone’s attention suddenly landed squarely on her.

“Stop her! Someone stop the half breed!”

Everyone saw Asuna’s approach. Although the escape had only happened an hour or two ago, with the recordings available to the commanders, most of them had already informed their men about the hero and the bronze mask woman, killing their way out and escaping the sky prison.

This had sent a terrible morale wave throughout most of them. Not only was the situation at the palace fucked but a hero had killed several soldiers and escaped with some half breed elf monster. The whole situation was confusing and heartbreaking beyond belief.

Why was a hero in the sky prison in the first place? Who put him there? Why did he have to kill their fellow soldiers to make his escape? Why did he help a disgusting half breed monster? Weren’t heroes supposed to be good and help humanity but instead he slaughtered humans and freed one who should be exterminated on sight?

All of these questions were running through the soldier’s minds so when they saw that same bronze masked figure rushing toward them, their hearts burned with a fiery rage. With swords, spears, and staves at the ready, they did not wait for orders and rushed forward to meet this hated foe.

Two Mages in the rear fired a rock the size of a person’s head and two blazing fireballs at Asuna. Asuna’s speed was several times faster than the spells though and when they came near, with a slight twist of her body or a side step, she easily dodged them and continued forward.

1 second, 2, this was all the time it took for Asuna to appear before the soldiers and with their slow movements, it only took her half a second more to slip past all of them.

3 seconds, 3 seconds was all it took for Asuna to go from one side of the gate to the other.

The soldiers barely got a look at her before they were turning their heads and were about to give pursuit when Kazuki and the rest caught up.

Kazuki ran up to them and shouted in displeasure.

“Who’s in charge here, answer me now!”

The men saw his uniform and knew that he was a commander but because his face was covered in blood, they couldn’t quite make out which unit he led. A man in the crowd stepped forward and gave a quick salute.

“Sir, I am.”

Kazuki’s face warped and he slapped the commander across the face. Hard enough to get his point across.

“You fucking piece of garbage, you have failed in your duty and let that nasty bitch get away.”

The commander was shocked and tried to retort but Kazuki squarely landed another slap to the commander’s face.

“Silence! Give me half of your men right now so we can pursue her.”

The commander was shook and quickly ordered for half his men to follow Kazuki.

“Sir what about the rest of my men?”

Kazuki was already running ahead but he turned his head and snorted.

“Hmph, that hero split up from that bitch only a moment ago, keep your men here and hide them for an ambush in case he tries to squeeze through here.”

Kazuki the others and the 50 or so men ran through the gate and chased after Asuna.

Asuna had slowed her speed on purpose to make sure she stayed in Kazuki’s sight. Asuna raced southward and maintained her speed so that she could not be gained on but at the same time they wouldn’t lose her. Soon she had led them all away from the city. With it being night time, she didn’t have to go too far to not be seen from Tresta’s walls but still, she led them south until the soldiers became visibly exhausted.

That’s when she finally stopped. The soldiers rejoiced in their hearts but little did they know this was their own doom.

The soldiers surrounded Asuna on all sides with weapons pointed when they heard a shout from amongst their group.

“Now!”

Everyone looked at where the voice came from. It was from the commander that brought them here but he wasn’t staring at them but when he said it, instead he was looking at a female soldier. With a nod of her head, she yelled two words and willed her power forth.

“Solar Flare!”

Kazuki and his group slammed their eyes shut on cue but the soldiers had no clue what was going on. A small orb of light shot up into the air and it exploded causing light to radiate outward like a burning star.

Soldier after soldier collapsed to the ground. Gripping their face in pain and howled in anguish. It took only a minute or two for Kazuki and the rest to go around and knock the men out cold.

After that, no one wasted time as they changed direction and headed eastward.

Nunully was exhausted from running so long so she had to be carried and the duty fell on Kazuki. Not because he wanted to do it but rather because Nunully didn’t trust any of the other guys and last time Asuna held her hand she nearly broke it with her grip.

Kazuki carried her in a princess style carry which pissed Asuna off. Staring at Nunully she felt a tinge of envy within her chest.

She did her best to put such thoughts out of her mind but it was difficult so instead, she just thought about the plan they had just successfully carried out.

“Asuna, you will wear Nunully’s mask and leave through the gate. With your superior strength and speed, you can easily get past them and lead them south.”

“South, but I thought we were heading east?”

“We are but I want to lead a group of soldiers out with us. We’ll follow you and when the time is right you’ll stop, at which point that’s when Kimi comes into play. After that, we’ll knock them all out and when they come to, they’ll all report the same thing, that before they were knocked out we were all following you south. This way they’ll be led to believe that we went south, maybe to try and seek sanctuary in Maoudou. It is closer to Treia and is a natural choice if we were seeking sanctuary.”

Danny though didn’t get something.

“Ryuta, this is all well and good but besides making them believe that we are heading south do we really need to make some of them follow us out the gate?”

“If I don’t take them with us it may seem suspicious. We show up out of nowhere and although I’m wearing a commander’s uniform my face can’t be identified. If I don’t insist on back up they might find it weird. And then what if they suggest that I take some soldiers with us but I refuse, that would be even weirder given the situation. So it’s best to take some soldiers out with us and take them by surprise.”

Everyone nodded in agreement. The plan was simple but it seemed that Kazuki had thoroughly thought it through and so they went for it.

Asuna was looking at Kazuki and a small thought appeared in her head.

(Ryuta, just how in the world did you come up with such a plan?)

Ryuta had never seemed so amazing in Asuna’s eyes before but it seemed that something about him was changing. For some reason, he appeared more mature now.

(Hopefully, he stays like this.)
