With someone willing to pay old SId’s attituded flipped like a coin.

“Oh, boy you’re willing to pay?”

Kazuki nodded.

“Yes, so theirs no need for threats. How much?”

Kazuki didn’t need to have the guards called. Though he was confident he could take them, he didn’t want or need unnecessary trouble. Especially since he could solve the problem rather easy by turning over a few Zeni.

Sid assessed the total damage done. After Tsura unleashed her strength and kicked Tilly away, the wooden door exploded outward and damaged many items. After going through everything, Sid came to a specific number and then doubled it. Holding three little fingers up, he told Kazuki the cost.

“By the looks of it, at least 364 gold Zeni and not a coin less.”

Tilly was angered by this and could tell that Sid had raised the prices on purpose but when she wanted to mention it to Kazuki he waved her away.

“Tilly you don’t have to say a word, I know.”

Kazuki turned over the money before picking Tsura up and giving her a piggyback ride.

“Mei it’s time we headed out, we still have a few more errands to run.”

Mei was still worried about her mother and didn’t cause any trouble. Grabbing Kazuki’s sleeve, she prepared to follow along quietly, when Kazuki told her.

“Mei we just purchased those items so bring them along with us.”

Mei looked at the damaged items and wondered what Kazuki wanted them for but did as she was told. Sid wanted to stop her but Kazuki did indeed just buy those damaged goods. Sid was hoping to salvage a few of the items and resell them getting him even more profit but seeing Kazuki acting so quickly he knew it was too late and grit his teeth.

Mei gathered 7 different things and hauled them off with her. It was a good thing these items were small otherwise it would be too troublesome to look where she was going while carrying these.

Not even a moment after they left Sid’s craft shop, Tilly had already caught up with them and complained.

“Boy, why did you pay so much for that junk? You know the little shrimp was ripping you off right? I don’t get it.”

(This old bat. Instead of apologizing for being partly responsible she just complains. Tilly you really are odd.)

“It was a small price to pay. With that inscription removed, I’ll have another power in my back pocket. Getting the guards involved for such a trivial matter just isn’t worth it.”

Tilly walked beside Kazuki and thought for a moment before shaking her head.

“Nah, that doesn’t match you. What was the real reason?”

“And what is it you think you know about me?”

“Hmm, what do I know I wonder.”

Kazuki ignored Tilly and kept walking.

Tilly didn’t seem to mind and walked beside him again while she thought.

“From what I’ve gathered you clearly have a special ability. What it is I don’t know but this isn’t the first time you’ve used it in Edngaul.”

Kazuki was slightly startled by Tilly’s words and almost paused his footsteps mid-stride but he played it cool and maintained himself and kept moving.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Tilly chuckled lightly.

“Hehehe, really. Yesterday an old man and two girls entered the town. The description of the old man is different from you but the girls are a perfect match for the ones by your side. A bit after noon, this old man and the two girls entered the Guild Hall and were harassed by a man who goes by the name Griff. Griff is an adventurer who’s weak mentally but his strength isn’t too bad. After a brief exchange, Griff ran away. It was accounted by witnesses at the scene that the old man had shouted about some nonsense of a curse and had placed a hand on Griffs. Later it was found that Griff had suffered tearing of the muscle and rupturing of many blood vessels in his hand and partially through his forearm.”

Kazuki snorted and interrupted Tilly.

“Hmpf and why are you telling me all this.”

Tilly smiled.

“I’m almost there. After that old man and the two girls left, a bit later those two same girls reentered the town with a group of young adults but the old man was no longer to be seen. For some reason, they stuck to that old man like glue but when you and your friends entered Tsura and Mei were constantly at your side. Not only that, that weird power in the Guild Hall followed by another weird power in Sid’s place all within this small time frame. You may be young but you appear to be very skilled in the art of disguise.”

Kazuki continued to walk but a few dangerous thoughts began to appear within his head.

“You were willing to pay such an absorbent price so the guards would not be called. We both know that if they were called the most they would do is have the involved parties split the cost and pay for the damages but at the same time, we would both have to reveal our identities to them. My identity is fine and can be verified right away but you, no, not you. This leads me to a certain possibility. You, could it be your a wanted man.”

Kazuki finally stopped walking and his eyes took on a cold killing intent as his mind flashed with different actions and different outcomes. He was trying to run every scenario he could think of and look at his best chances. Most of them though involved harming or killing Tilly but her next words eased the tension.

“Whoa whoa whoa. I was actually right, hahaha. I mean being the mother of the lord of this town it’s quite easy to gather information but I didn’t consider I might be right, hahaha. No worries though, I have no intention of informing the guards. So no need for that I’m gonna kill you and hide your deceased body in the bushes look. I just want to know one thing. You answer that and I promise I won’t snitch. So, what exactly did you do?”

Kazuki gently lay Tsura on the ground and stood over Tilly. His eyes told her everything she needed to know but Kazuki still spoke coldly.

“My life and those of my companions are not a game. I would very much appreciate it if you dropped this here and now, understand?”

A bit of cold sweat fell from Tilly’s face and she nodded in agreement. A small crowd was looking over and wondered why a woman was lying down on the ground and wondered if the young man and old woman had a confrontation but a few seconds later the young man had picked the woman up off the ground and carried her away. A few people were thinking of intervening but seeing as there were no more problems they figured things were ok and went about their business.

Kazuki walked along the road while carrying Tsura. Mei followed close behind with her hands full and Tilly trailed a little further back.

A smile shone brightly on her face.

(Boy, now my interest has only grown more.)

Catching up with Kazuki she walked in front of him.

“So, what did you do? To threaten a helpless old lady such as I, It must be quite the story. Come come come, tell big sis Tilly about all of your troubles, I promise I won’t tattle, hehehe.”

Kazuki couldn’t quite believe his ears.

(She’s…She’s actually not kidding is she.)

Kazuki couldn’t help but smile a bit. Tilly’s personality was just too infecting. He had just thought about what he would do to silence her barely a moment ago but here she was acting exactly the same.

(This woman.)

Kazuki did his best to ignore Tilly but not long after and they started to talk once more and even shared more laughs. Not long later, Kazuki stopped in front of another shop, with a sign that read.

[ Armored Bear ]

“Oh, you’re looking for some equipment huh? I did notice that you were sorely lacking in that department which made little sense. Especially the way you throw coin around like it’s nothing. By the way, where did you come by all that wealth? Your so young and yet you’re richer than most. You definitely don’t have the air of a noble about you. Could this be why people are after you, you robbed a treasure vault and now the owners are chasing you down to the ends of the world. I’m right aren’t I?”

Kazuki flashed a smile.

“Or maybe I got all this from a prostitute who would pay anything to protect her love.”

Tilly laughed hard at that statement.

“Bwahahaha, now that’s a good one. Maybe if you said you were the world’s greatest prostitute I might have believed that but this, puhahaha. Now that’s a good tale.”

Kazuki set Tsura down as she now could walk on her own. Her senses had relaxed and the over stimuli had settled a lot.

“Thank you Ryuta.”

“Are you feeling better now?”

Tsura nodded her head softly.

“Good, follow me.”

Tilly didn’t like being ignored and got between the two and started clamoring away.

(This woman is how old and she can still get jealous.)

Kazuki shook his head and the four walked into the shop.
