Varia stepped forward and crossed her arms.

“Excuse me, what did you just say? You won’t hand over the information, who in the 7 hells do you think you’re talking to?”

Tilly wore a smirk. Hearing this young hussy act so bold was refreshing.

“Little girly, I’m talking to your scrawny ass and your band of circus freaks. Just look at that fat rolly polly, I mean is that even a human or a ball of lard?”

Abura’s mouth hung open as he stared at this little old woman in front of him. The more he looked at her, the more drool would spill out from his mouth.

Lord Jool could see that his mother was putting her nose where it doesn’t belong and jumped in the middle before things got out of hand.

“Forgive my mother, she’s as crazy as a bag of bats and speaks rather ill and loosely. With her age comes delusion, even now she can’t be left alone long without some form of trouble popping up here and there. Please just ignore her if you will.”

Varia snorted.

“Hmpf, no wonder. If I were you, I’d keep that old witch on a short leash.”

Jool felt rather irritated, hearing this young woman speak. Her language was nasty and crude. He could understand if this were coming directly from the one carrying the King’s Medallion but the rest at Muteki’s side were clearly lackeys. Jool wanted nothing more than to tell this bitch off but he did not know how that would blow over with Muteki and he didn’t wish to risk it.

Gritting his teeth he threw all the unnecessary stuff to the back of his mind before he bowed to Muteki once more.

“Sir, if you would please come with me I can have all of that information gathered in no time.”

Muteki focused in on Tilly again before sighing inwardly.

“Fine, lead the way.”

Jool grabbed a token from his chest pocket and handed to one of his soldiers before ordering them to gather the needed information. The soldier then turned and ran off in a certain direction, though he had only made it a few feet when a bottle struck him in the side of the head and knocked him unconscious.

Everyone looked in the direction the bottle had come from and surprisingly or in Jool’s case not surprisingly it had come from his very own mother.

The nearby soldiers were now in an awkward situation. This town used to be Tilly’s and her late husbands, following his death Tilly took over for a while before handing it all over to her son Jool. Though Jool was now the lord of Edngaul, most of the soldiers had grown up under Tilly’s rule. Not only that but the surrounding twelve soldiers personally received their inscription tattoo’s from Tilly herself.

If Lord Jool ordered them to capture Tilly, many of the soldiers didn’t know if they could follow such an order.

Tilly pulled out another bottle and uncorked it. Taking a few gulps she smacked her lips together.

“Ah, this one’s tasty too, hehe. What’s wrong, why is everyone looking at me like that? I said that information will not be handed over and that’s that.”

Jool exploded on his mother.

“Dammit, you old hag, didn’t you see the King’s Medallion. This man’s word represents the King’s authority. Everyone must do as he says or it can be considered as a traitors act. I don’t know who that young man was but you’d better tell this man what you know old woman or else.”

Tilly’s head cranked back as she erupted with laughter.

“Bwahahahaha. You expect me to listen to this kid because he carries around a shiny metal. I don’t care what it represents. I Tilly have only ever done what I please and when I please. As for you son, you little shit, since when do you order your own mother around. Maybe I should whoop your ass in front of all your little grunts, maybe then you’ll show me some respect.”

Jool’s face went completely red and he was on the verge of snapping but he was stuck in between a rock and a hard place, with very little he could do.

Tilly then turned to Varia and smiled fakely at her.

“I may be a witch young lass but at least I’m not an ugly bitch like you, hehehe.”

Varia grew furious and was ready to pounce on her at a moment’s notice when Muteki stepped forth.

“You are called Tilly correct. You hold the information I require to continue my mission but you won’t hand it over, very well. Jool, your mother is interfering in the matters of the crown and therefore is now a criminal. You are to assist in apprehending her, do you understand.”

Jool’s eyes went wide.

“Wait just a moment. My mother can be persuaded just give me a minute please!”

“Hahaha, no son I won’t. Ryuta is a friend of mine and I won’t betray that for anything, well maybe except for the most delicious booze in the world but I doubt anyone here has that, hehehe.”

“Dammit mom, you stubborn old goat. Tell the man what he wants to know now before its too late.

Tilly shook her head.

“I told you boy, I will not betray those who are my friends and besides look at him, can’t you see the hidden flame in his eyes, it’s already too late, hehehe.”

Muteki took a step forward and the air seemed to change. Jool grew panicked and stepped in front of his mother.

“Wait please wait, my mother isn’t that crazy, there’s no need for this really.”

Tilly laughed at this sight.

(My, son really is quite foolish.)

Muteki ignored Jool’s plea’s and continued forward. Each step caused a fountain of sweat to pour from Jool’s face.

Muteki stood right in front of Jool.

“Move.”

Jool said nothing, rather he could say nothing as an untold fear had built up within him preventing him from speaking. Still, he remained standing in place.

Muteki saw that Jool was firm and stuck in his ways.

“I see, you will not move no matter what.”

Jool did his best to nod in the current situation but his head merely chattered a bit as though he were naked in the freezing cold.

“So be it.”

*Wham*

Muteki waited no more and delivered a strong backhand to Jool’s face. Jool was immediately lifted off the ground from the blow and flew off to the side until he crashed hard into the wall of a nearby shop.

Muteki stood in front of Tilly and towered over her like a giant. The two locked eyes and the playfulness from Tilly vanished. Abura sniffed the air and grew excited as magic began to gather from all around. Tilly glared fiercely at Muteki before her entire tone changed and she said.

“You should not have done that.”

All of the soldiers roared at once and went into action.

“Protect the lord, protect him. Kill those that wish to cause him harm.”

Several soldiers rushed to Lord Jool’s side while a few more attacked Muteki’s squad. Two soldiers with inscription tattoos drew their swords and appeared behind Muteki. Swinging down, they aimed to take him out in an instant.

If they could kill him and the others from his squad then they could tell the King that they never arrived. Keeping the citizens quiet was easy with a few threats. Everything could be resolved, but first, they had to kill them.

“Hmpf, you think scum like you can touch him.”

*Thud*

Varia caught the two soldiers’ wrist stopping them in mid-swing. With their great strength, even though she caught them both, the impact caused her feet to sink two inches into the dirt.

Although the two were several times faster than normal men and had swung down with incredible speed, Varia was still above them. The two were filled with doubt at first and tried to pull their wrist away so as to try another attack but the found that they could no pull away from the small woman in front of them.

A large flame engulfed both of Varia’s hands heating up the metal gauntlets around the men’s wrist. The two felt an undesirable heat and knew what would be next. Sharing a look the two used their strength and pulled Varia and threw her behind them. Varia was quick to counter though. She held onto the two and exerted her own strength. This caused all three to do a flip in mid-air. Varia twisted her body and her feet landed first. Planting them firmly on the ground she pulled down with all her might.

*BAM!*

The two soldiers slammed into the ground hard, cracking it in several places like a spider’s web.

Muteki ignored the mess behind him as well as Tilly’s words and reached for her throat. His speed and strength clearly outclassed Tilly’s to a great extent yet when his hand came to about a foot in front of her…

*Bang!*

A large barrier of wind appeared around Tilly protecting her entirely. The force of the wind was great and Muteki was actually pushed back several feet. Digging his feet into the ground he slid for a few feet more before he came to a stop.

Muteki smiled at Tilly and Tilly too was surprised by him not getting knocked to his ass.

“Hmm, it appears that you have a talent or two young man. Too bad I’m not thirty years younger or I might have taken you for a spin.”
