It was an all out brawl. While Muteki faced off against Tilly, the rest of his squad and the soldiers of Edngaul engaged in brutal combat. Muteki had just been pushed back from Till’s wind barrier but he was not surprised. Ever since the carriage made its way down the road, Muteki could sense a power within.
“Abura, what is her strength?”
Many soldiers had surrounded Abura and were landing kicks and punches upon him continuously. Aburah though continued to drool as he stared in Tilly’s direction ignoring the blows completely. When he heard Muteki’s question his drool flooded out even more. With a deep inhale his nose twitched in Tilly’s direction.
*Sniff sniff sniff*
“She’s at the 3rd stage, body enhancement stage.”
Seeing Tilly’s small and frail frame, Muteki felt doubtful but Abura was never wrong about these things.
(She doesn’t seem to have the physicality to be at the same stage as me but her magic tool has good defensive capabilities. She must have wasted her training and not pushed herself while at this stage or she became a 3rd stage Mage too far along in life. No matter, I will still crush her and get the information I need.)
Muteki shook his wrist and a pair of gauntlets appeared on both oh his arms.
“Old woman, you will tell me everything I wish to know or you will suffer greatly.”
Tills laughed hard before smirking.
“Hehehe, come come come young one, show these old bones of mine some suffering if you can. I’m looking forward to it.”
Tilly started drinking from another bottle while enjoying the destruction around her.
*Whoosh*
Muteki vanished from his spot, leaving behind only after images as he sped forth. With the fight already initiated, there was no longer any reason to wait nor hesitate. Just as the afterimages faded, Muteki appeared directly behind Tilly and brought his hands together as though he were gonna say a prayer. Tilly looked up at the towering giant above her.
“Oh.”
Muteki swung his combined fist down like a sledgehammer. The speed of which caused the air to whistle, as it was torn apart.
When his fist reached an optimal velocity and was only a foot or so away from striking Tilly’s forehead.
*BAM!*
Her barrier of wind appeared and forced him back. Muteki was flung almost 10 feet into the air. With a flip, he regained his balance and landed without incident.
“Not bad kid, your strength is relatively high even for someone at the 3rd stage. You have talent but they won’t be enough to loosen these lips, hehehe.”
*Bang*
Muteki ignored Tilly and stomped hard on the ground. A boulder nearly 6 feet in length and 4 feet in width flew into the air in front of him. Muteki cocked back his left fist and threw a punch forward, striking the boulder in front of him.
*Bam!*
The boulder as if responding to his call, flew forth at a high speed directly for Tilly.
Tilly was not surprised by this and took another swig of her drink.
(Hmm, so he’s a Gordonia user. Makes sense with that strength of his. Not many can punch my barrier with a bare fist and not go crashing into something. So his power comes from this.)
*Boom*
The boulder collided with Tilly’s barrier. It too was thrown away however, Tilly and her barrier were also pushed back a couple of inches in the process.
“Hehe, your boulder has some weight to it but it will take more then something being heavy to destroy my barrier.”
Muteki stomped the ground once more and more boulders of similar size rose from the ground before he punched them in her direction.
*Boom Boom*
The rocks flew off in two different directions before colliding with some buildings, destroying several walls in the process.
(The kid is strong but he doesn’t seem like he can learn from past mistakes. I already told him he can’t penetrate this barrier so easily.)
Tilly looked in the direction of her son, who lay unconscious under guard.
*Haa*
(My son is a dummy but he’s my dummy. It seems I should take care of these people. I’ll kill them and make it look like they never arrived in the first place.)
A ring on Tilly’s right hand flashed with light and she whispered something only she could hear.
A small flow of air twirled and collected into her hand. It’s shape formed a spherical ball-like object. The small object spun faster and faster and faster until the wind around it began to screech like 100 birds crying.
Another boulder came flying toward her. Before it struck her barrier, Tilly took the small ball of wind in her hand and chucked it out of her barrier like it was no more than a piece of stale 5-day old popcorn.
Her aim was the boulder. As soon as the simple ball of wind and the large boulder made contact.
*Sht cht sht cht sht*
Muteki suddenly sensed something incredibly dangerous and his instincts were screaming at him. Without hesitation, Muteki leaped, high into the air and landed on a nearby roof.
Muteki’s eyes darted in every direction looking for the danger but he could find nothing. Only until his eyes met Tilly’s did he realize the dangerous feeling he was getting was caused by her.
(What is this feeling?)
Muteki was trying to understand what was going on when he felt something warm running down on the left side of his cheek. Touching the side of his face, Muteki’s eyes went wide as he discovered a small 3 inch long cut with blood flowing out from it.
(This is…How? When?)
Tilly took another swig before a small ball of wind began to spin at a rapid rate in her hand once more.
Muteki wasn’t slow though and saw her doing something strange with her hand. Only a moment later he saw her make a throwing gesture and again he got that great sense of danger.
Muteki jumped to the ground and slapped it. A wall of Gordonia rose in front of him. That was when he heard it.
*Sht cht cht sht sht sht cht*
Something strange was happening to the wall in front of him. A sound similar to birds crying or many small beasts screeching came from the other side of his wall but before he could have time to think.
*Whoosh*
Muteki quickly moved his head. He clearly heard something fly by his face this time. Staring at the wall in front of him, Muteki found a hole no bigger than an acorn.
(Something came through. No not something, it was the wind. This woman, she’s actually managed to come up with a way to make wind this dangerous, impossible!)
“Hehehe, what’s wrong boy, you can’t stand up to a little old lady like me?”
Muteki heard Tilly’s taunting from across the way but he felt nothing toward it, instead, another feeling arose within his chest. Most men and women, when dealing with an unknown that could not be seen but could take your life in an instant, they would naturally be filled with fear. Muteki though, his body began to shake and tremble. Not because he was afraid and filled with hopelessness but instead because he was filled with excitement.
A large smile crept upon his face as a rush of adrenaline spread within.
Touching the stone wall in front of him, the hole within it quickly repaired itself. Muteki’s gauntlet glowed with a dim green light and the stone wall began to condense. It went from a solid 6 feet tall and 4 feet wide to a smaller 4 by 3. The wall took on a soft sheen and became slightly reflective.
Muteki threw a palm forward and the large wall slid across the ground with great speed.
Tilly seemed bored as she watched the wall come forth.
“Again my boy, do you not learn?”
Since Muteki was behind the wall when he threw it over, Tilly assumed he would still be in that spot and threw another sphere of wind in his direction.
The sphere of wind cried out as it collided with the wall. This time however a hole did not immediately tear through it and was slowed greatly. What normally took it less then a second or so to burrow through took almost 7 seconds. Eventually, it made its way through. The wall as well collided with Tilly’s barrier, it too wasn’t instantly bounced away. Tilly and her barrier were pushed back several feet but the wall continued forward. Only after she fired several more wind spheres did the smaller wall finally slow and then stop.
(This wall is as tough as metal. He must have made it denser, that’s why my sphere took so long to go through it completely.)
With the wall blocking her view, Tilly had no choice but to go around it. Otherwise, Muteki could possibly surround her in every direction with these denser walls. As soon as she moved though, she found something odd. Muteki was nowhere to be seen. With all the fighting from the other soldiers and Muteki’s squad going at it, the surroundings were quite chaotic, still, Tilly didn’t think she would lose an opponent so easily. At least she didn’t think she was that old.
(Little squirt where are you hiding I wonder, hehehe.)
Muteki stood between 2 buildings just out of sight, rubbing his chin in thought.
(So that’s what she’s doing. Rotating energy and adding speed like that gives her attack a deadly advantage. I didn’t know magic could be used like this.)
