*BOOOOOM!*

The air exploded, causing the mountain of dust, that almost settled to once more shoot up and spread out, blocking everyone’s vision.

Varia had witnessed the whole fight from start to finish but with her sight blocked just now, she had no way of knowing who had one and who had lost. After a while, Varia found that the fight had seemed to have shifted into Muteki’s favor but then Muteki lost an eye to Tilly’s wind sphere. Then Tilly had managed to consume part of a mana potion. Her barriers strength returned but Muteki didn’t let up and pressed her harder. Varia saw Tilly gather energy for a final attack, as well as Muteki pressure her barrier to no end before the explosion occurred.

The cloud of dust slowly descended, falling softly like snow. Varia chewed her nails in anxiousness until finally, the dust settled and the sky cleared.

*Fwsssh*

The sound of fire roaring entered one’s ear and the sight above became clear. Muteki hovered above with his flames while gripping Tilly’s limp body by the neck.

Muteki slowly landed and laughed wildly in delight.

“Hahahaha, I did it. This old woman was tough but this was a welcome challenge indeed. Old bat, you almost did me in.”

Muteki wiped the blood from his eye before grinning even more.

“I got rather lucky that your attack only destroyed my eye. Just a bit more and your wind would have pierced my brain entirely and you would have killed me. The roles could have been easily reversed yet I came out on top. Whether you consider it simply fate or destiny or whatever, none of that matters, in the end, it was my victory, hehe.”

Tilly could say nothing and only released pained moans. Her entire body up and down had wounds all over, which bled profusely. As soon as Muteki popped her barrier, the spikes covering his armor stabbed into her. The only reason she wasn’t pierced all the way through and killed, was because Muteki still needed her alive to extract information from her.

Varia ran over in joy. When Muteki saw her he retracted his spikes and armor as Varia leaped into his free arm, embracing him and kissing his face.

“Muteki you did it. Amazing incredible. Oh my poor lover, look at your eye.”

Varia inspected his eye and felt saddened seeing its state.

“You damn bitch, how dare you hurt my man’s precious body. I ought to just kill you now.”

Varia pulled a dagger and was about to stab Tilly in the head when Muteki grabbed the blade. Normally a blade would render the flesh but Muteki’s body was dense and tough and with a solid grip he stole Varia’s blade from her hand and threw it away in anger.

“No, have you already forgotten our reason for being here. The mission comes first and foremost. The information she has is important, understand. Do well to remember that or even I will hold you accountable got it?”

Varia felt a chill run down her spine. Seeing the look in Muteki’s eyes and hearing the angered tone in which he spoke, filled her with both fear and lust. Varia shut her mouth but also embraced Muteki again, as she tried to hide some of the blush from her cheeks.

Abura slowly flew over in both pain and excitement.

“Boss, you did it, that was incredible. Uh…Um, boss, now that the fight is done…can…can I?”

Muteki rolled his eyes and sighed.

*Haaa*

“Fine, I suppose you have earned it, especially since you saved Varia. Ok, have your fill, just don’t eat any of the living ones.”

Abura trembled slightly as a line of drool began to spill from his mouth. He was a bit disappointed he couldn’t taste more of the living but Muteki did say he could have his fill of the others. Abura wasted no more time and found a nearby body, Lifting the arm of a fallen soldier, he first bit into the metal armor covering it and ripped it away with his teeth. Afterward, a dirty sweat covered arm appeared before his eyes. Opening his mouth wide he bit down hard.

*Crunch munch chew munch*

Blood splattered all over his face and chest but Abura didn’t care in the slightest as he ate full of delight. In only half a minute, the entire arm, flesh and even bone included was devoured completely. As it disappeared into his stomach, the wounds covering his back began to heal at a rapid rate. Abura didn’t even seem to notice as he then picked up a leg and repeated his action.

Varia watched in disgust while complaining.

“Ugh, Abura really needs to curve that nasty habit of his. It’s truly nauseating.”

Muteki didn’t care either way.

“Forget it. As long as he follows orders, I don’t care what he does outside of that.”

“Ughhh!”

Out of the corner of their sight, someone slowly sat up.

“Hmm, Byki you’re still alive?”

Byki gnashed his teeth hatefully at Varia.

“Of course I’m still alive no thanks to you.”

A white light surrounded Byki’s left hand which he had continuously held on his stomach for a while now. The bleeding had stopped and he could feel his insides slowly repairing themselves.

*Cough cough hack cough*

Several mouthfuls of blood were spat out repeatedly as Byki groaned in pain.

“Dammit, left to die on the ground with no one to mourn me. You fuckers suck.”

Muteki glared at Byki before Byki changed his statement a bit in fear.

“N…Not you boss, just everyone else.”

Muteki looked away before his attention refocused on Tilly. Seeing how much blood she was losing, he furrowed his brows a bit.

“Byki, come over here and heal this old one. She’s losing far too much blood too quickly. I need her alive so we can use a Mind Frey on her.”

Byki looked at Muteki like he was insane.

“Boss I’m about to die here, besides a Mind Frey only requires a few seconds or so to fully work, surely she can wait just a moment.”

Muteki shouted over him.

“Byki get your ass over here and heal her now. She looks like she’ll die any second. Am I to take the chance that she lives. Every second is as precious as gold, now move it.”

Byki grumbled under his breath but Muteki was right and he wasn’t willing to risk whether or not the old woman bleeding out could hang on or not. If she really did die, Muteki could easily push the blame on Byki and claim that he didn’t follow his orders. Byki could only face a death sentence after that.

Byki limped over and knelt down.

“Boss, please lay her down, I’ve barely the strength to stand.”

Muteki nodded and laid her on the ground. Byki, on the other hand, could feel the wound on his stomach reopening but could do nothing but grin and bear it while he filled both of his hands with power. A bright white light enveloped both of his hands and he placed them a few inches above Tilly’s body. The bloody wounds atop her quickly began to stop bleeding as he healed her.

At the same time, Muteki snapped his fingers and one of his other subordinates raced over.

“Is it still in good condition?”

The subordinate knew exactly what Muteki meant and took out a small sealed box and handed it over.

“Yes boss, I made sure to protect it with my life.”

Muteki opened the box and revealed the ugly creature within. Placing a bit of energy into his finger, he lifted Tilly’s head a bit and placed his finger on the back of her neck, filling it with a bit of power.

The Mind Frey inhaled deeply and sniffed at the air before limbering out of the box and leaping onto the back of Tilly’s neck. It’s sharp and jagged teeth outstretched themselves before biting down at the base of her neck.

The Mind Frey’s eyes both began to glow with a bright blue light before an image was projected into the air.

Muteki and the others looked on with interest as Tilly’s life played out before them in a flash. A few seconds later, the Mind Frey fell off before shriveling up into a dead, dried out little husk.

Varia was surprised by a few things she saw.

“Hmm, this old ladies had a pretty rough life. To think she actually fought in the Eden Fall war. The number of bodies she has piled up is more than all of us, well except for you my true love.”

Byki stopped healing Tilly and refocused on himself.

“Hmpf, this old mummy, has actually developed such a terrifying attack. Her wind sphere is already so deadly, yet her Cannon Force could level a castle. If anyone else fought her, they would have died. This time, it was only the boss who could have one.”

Muteki ignored all of the other memories and instead focused on what mattered. Although he didn’t know what town or city Kazuki and the others were heading to, he did know in which direction they had left in. What was on the way was easy to find out. He also learned exactly what identities the others took when they became adventurers. If any of those names appeared on future missions it would be simple to tell from which guild branch they took the mission and so on and so forth. He didn’t know their exact whereabouts or their precise location but he now had all the clues in which to find them and even the direction they were headed.

“It looks like we have what we need. Old bat you are no longer useful, DIE!”

Just as Muteki said that. Tilly’s eyes jumped open and her barrier spread out and expanded instantly. At the same time, she fired off a dozen of wind spheres in every direction before flying into the sky and disappearing into the distance. Muteki had no choice but to grab Varia and drag her to the ground while covering her body with his. By the time he got up, Tilly had fled.

Muteki searched the skies with his eye but couldn’t find even a single trace.

“Damn, she’s quick.”

Varia was unharmed but Muteki was hit three times in the back. Tilly’s attacks were weakend but still they penetrated almost 2 inches into Muteki’s flesh. Byki and a few more of his subordinates had received more wounds as well. Even Abura who was unconcerned and was stuffing his face received two more wounds but he ignored it for the most part and kept eating.

Varia wanted to chase after her but Muteki stopped her.

“You can not fight her alone, she’ll kill you.”

“But but..”

“No buts, we have what we need, besides, look at what she just did. I and the rest of our group needs to heal. Don’t worry, now that I know her moves she’ll never be able to beat me again. The next time we meet, if she chooses to stand in my way, I’ll kill her.”

Varia relented before her attention turned to the fallen soldiers as well as the lord of Edngaul, Tilly’s son Jool.

“What will we do with them?”

“Now that they are no longer in our way, their fates are not ours to decide. The King will deliver their punishment, while we move on with our mission. Go to the guild and send his Majesty a full report. Let me know what he decides.”
