Inside the small floating island, the war room had gone quiet. Those Mages and soldiers alike all stood crowded at the front of the room, peering out the glass window. Frozen, paralyzed, what they felt right now was incredibly hard to describe. Looking down below, a city which was in ruin, a city that held more than 3 million people at one point. That had large walls stretching for 10’s of miles around.

This once large and very prosperous city…was…gone. Not turned into rubble and piles of wooden frames nor hills of bodies from the hundreds of thousands of creatures that had just been struck down by Iselda. No, there was not even a scrap. Well, almost anyway. It’s true that no buildings were left, neither a creature alive, however, were one to get over their obvious shock, they would clearly see thousands of beams of light still in place.

From Iselda to the ground, there were beams of light with small objects suspended within them.

Garn smiled happily an activated something in the war room. As he did that, the beams of light began retracting upward, back into Iselda.

As the light entered the small floating island, the even smaller objects suspended continued into the island and were collected inside a certain room.

Garn stood up and made his way there without a second thought, ignoring everyone else as they continued to stare in awe.

Following several corridors and a long spiraling staircase, Garn found himself in front of a huge thick metal door. Two large women stood guard in front of it. When they saw King Garn their first instinct was to take up offensive stances with their spears and point them at him.

Garn was not upset by this in the least and was even satisfied when one yelled at him.

“Identify yourself within the next 2 seconds or we will slay you!”

Garn held his scepter in hand and stamped it hard against the ground.

*Bang!*

A certain pulse of energy spread outward and the two women suddenly felt a burning sensation on their foreheads. Looking closely, a set of inscription tattoo’s glowed a fiery red.

The two women grunted in pain and placed their spears back at their sides. In unison, they gave a formal bow and greeted.

“Your Majesty, welcome to the vault.”

Garn stamped his scepter once more and the large metal door behind them slowly opened. Garn walked in and the vault door slammed shut behind him.

Several crystals lit up filling the vault with light. The vault was exactly what it sounded like. Garn stood in a large room that outstretched for nearly 100 feet. It wasn’t the biggest vault he had ever witnessed but it was big relative to the size of this structure.

For now, the room remained empty but after only a few moments, a seemingly random spot on the ground lit up. a second later, the object that had remained suspended in light and was taken into the island came through the floor. Garn smiled and picked the object up, admiring it up close.

(Finally, it’s here. With this beast core, my plan for the Azirian’s, their complete destruction is within sight.)

Looking at the beast core in his hand, Garn felt excitement about the future before him. Placing a hand over it, several inscriptions were placed atop it, sealing it temporarily. This way there were no accidents. Garn couldn’t have an explosion similar to the one back in Tresta happen here, otherwise, the outcome would not be pretty. Though with the way he had this vault built, he was confident it could hold, though that was something he didn’t want to test if he didn’t have to.

With the sealing inscription in place, Garn waved a hand and the beast core disappeared into his storage ring. Just as he did that, the ground lit up again and again and again. Soon thousands of beast cores began to fill a portion of the room.

Garn smiled greedily. picking up another beast core he began placing a seal on it.

Several hours later, Garn returned to the war room.

“Your Majesty, it is just as you said it would be. Everything has worked exactly as you had designed it, therefore…”

Eris hesitated. He was almost afraid to give Garn any news. Garn saw this and felt annoyed.

“Whatever it is just say it. Those that waste my time are not needed.”

Eris quickly got to the point.

“My King, Iselda is a monster when it comes to destruction and her appetite is equally big. Teleporting once and firing once, I’m afraid we can teleport only one more time before she’s completely out of power.”

Garn nodded along.

“Your right, she’s a beast but she can only show her fans once. I’ll need to adjust a few things if shes to be more effective. Alright, let’s return to Tresta.”

(My haul today was pretty decent. This amount, however, won’t divide the continent. I’ll need much much more if I’m to prevent the Miasma from spreading.)

A stone pillar rose up from the ground with a golden sphere embedded in its center. Garn placed a hand over it and activated Iselda.

*FLASH*

Somewhere in the north, a small golden ring appeared on the side of a mountain.

*FLASH*

Several men and women stepped out of it. A tall man with a large frame looked at the world around him lost in thought. A young lascivious woman hugged him from behind. Standing on her tippy toes, she licked his ear lobe from behind.

The man pushed her away before turning around and glaring at her. The woman, on the other hand, felt offended and glared back just as hard before shouting.

“Why did you push me away!”

The man shook his head.

“Woman this is no time for that. We have our orders and we must fulfill our mission to the letter. Time for play comes afterward, you know that.”

The woman pouted resentfully. A lanky guy with sunken eyes and a narrow nose laughed at her.

“Hehehe, Varia, if you want someone to play with I’ll gladly give you a hand or two, hehehe.”

Varia felt disgusted by this sickly creepy looking man and shouted at him in frustration and disgust.

“How many times must I tell you Byki, I’m not fucking interested, you creep.”

About a dozen people in their surroundings all began to laugh at the one called Byki. Byki’s face distorted from the humiliation and he was about to teach Varia a lesson when the tall muscular man interrupted them.

“Byki, Varia shut it. We have a mission, now focus up.”

A large fat man glided over and asked.

“Boss Muteki, the King ordered us to set out right away but, no one knows the detail but you. Do you mind informing the rest of us?”

Varia seemed annoyed by this as well and added.

“Fatty Abura is right, we have no clue whats going on. The King gave us this mission but we only get called out when its the dirty work. What can’t the public know about this time?”

Muteki held up a crystal orb and several holographic images played out.

Inside, several young men and women were shown.

Byki saw a few of the women and gulped before he recognized one of them.

“Huh, why is this girl here and that one too? Wait I’ve seen them somewhere, aren’t they?”

Before he could finish his sentence, Varia cut him off.

“There the heroes! Muteki our mission this time is to kill them.”

Muteki nodded, causing everyone’s eyes to shine with equal parts confusion ad equal parts excitement.

Abura began to roll around on the ground with his fat body.

“Heroes heroes, we get to kill heroes this time. This…isn’t this like a once in a lifetime event. Amazing amazing amazing!”

Varia got excited as well.

“The King is really giving us such an excellent mission. We actually get to carve up some heroes this time?”

Muteki ignored the two and laid everything out. Holding out the crystal orb, the image of Kazuki floated prominently in front of everyone as Muteki explained.

“Apparently this one here killed the main information officer Itsu or was it suki? Anyway, that doesn’t really matter. The point is, this one is to be captured alive and brought before the king himself. While this one here…”

Two images of Nunully floated forward, one with her bronze mask on and one without.

“She is to be killed on sight, as she is a half breed.”

Hearing the word halfbreed everyone looked on with disgust.

“Ew what a nasty bitch. Muteki honey, please let me carve that one up first.”

Muteki ignored Varia and went on.

“The rest of them, our King is indifferent about. He says we are to try and convince them once and if they are willing to return then they can come back but if they don’t change sides then they are to be executed as well.”

Byki heard this and laughed.

“Hehehe, try and convince them. You don’t call upon a squad of killers to try and convince someone to return. Once we set out, there can be only death. Bringing that first boy ack alive is already asking too much from us but since the King asked, hehehe. I’ll try and only remove a limb or two from the boy. He’ll still be alive but the state he’ll be alive in, hehehe.”

Muteki shook his head and disagreed.

“No, the King’s orders are absolute. We will first try and persuade them after that their fates will be decided.”

Byki laughed.

“Hahaha, the King won’t know so let’s just kill them outright.”

A few people grew excited hearing that, Muteki however…

*Shink*

His blade was drawn and was already resting on Byki’s neck before anyone had ever seen anything. A fresh line of red dripped down from Byki’s neck as he dared not move. Muteki glared at Byki but spoke calmly.

“Did you not hear me? You follow my orders or I will be forced to remove this thing you call a head from your shoulders. Do you understand me?”

Byki stood there in both fear and humiliation but in the end, he knew he would be killed if he did no in this moment answer correctly.

“Yes.”
